We had lunch here when we were exploring in Trastevere and we had a good lunch. I like their whole concept where they employ mentally disabled people to work alongside the other restaurant staff, and the whole place is decorated with artwork also done by the mentally disabled too. Although this place is close to a lot of other touristy restaurants, and this place does draw in a decent amount of tourists, I still found the food to be good - especially the pasta.
They do have seating outside on the patio, and ample seating inside too, so you shouldn't need a reservation to eat here.
- Gran Fritti (11€) - 2 fiori di zucca, 1 filetto di baccala, 1 suppli, 1 oliva ascolana, 3 "polpette" cacio e pepe - The fried platter was pretty large and probably better shared between 3-4 people (we were only 2), and it was pretty filling as the little polpette of cacio and pepe were pretty heavy (deep fried cacio and pepe pasta)
- Insalata Mista - (6,50€) - The salad was pretty standard with lettuce, carrots, olives, and tomatoes. The portion size was pretty large, and almost too much for 2 people (but not a problem, we ate it all anyways). This could easily be shared between 3-4 people.
- Amatriciana Pasta - I always love a good amatriciana pasta, with the crispy pork jowl, and tomato sauce. The pasta here was good, not too salty, and the pasta was al dente. I would definitely get this again.
Overall, this place is great if you're in the area and want a casual lunch or dinner. I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way to eat here, but we enjoyed our meal here, especially the amatriciana pasta. Reasonably priced and decent portion sizes, which is always a plus.
