Google
La Trinidad is a hidden gem that deserves every bit of its 5-star rating. From the moment you arrive, you're welcomed by the staff and you can sit down wherever you want. Me and my buddies have been going here now for over a year every week and it still hits the same every-time. La Trinidad never disappoints. The community is warm and friendly, and there’s so much to explore on their menu, from fajitas, to $2 tacos on Tuesday, and burritos and more. Overall, La Trinidad is a wonderful destination for anyone looking for a great overall experience and great Mexican Food. Highly recommended!

Google
The food and service is amazing. It's a very chill small spot and I honestly almost missed my turn to pull into the parking lot, but the food, service, and atmosphere is amazing. Will definitely be back. P.S. I had a burrito dinner. Well worth my money. Salad, beans, rice, and burrito all came at a very well made temperature and fresh.

Google
We were impressed with everything from the homemade chips and tortillas to the delicious meats available for their tacos and meals! I recommend the bombas!

Google
Came in for some Menudo and tacos. Tacos were amazing and good size. The menudo was also really good. The server that helped me was very nice and attentive. Definitely recommended. Just moved to Huntley, and I am glad La Trinidad is close. 10/10

Google
Overall a fantastic experience at la trinidad. Tacos are always gas, services and staff are super friendly and never neglect their guests. My friends have been coming for $2 tacos on Tuesdays for about 2 years and the experience has always been great

Google
I visited La Trinidad for a quick dinner with my significant other. From the moment we stepped inside, the service was impeccable. The staff greeted us and were very attentive. They made sure we were kept updated on when our food would be ready etc. I ordered the 3 steak taco dinner and Strawberry Margarita. The drink was light...I didn't get tipsy/buzzed. The taco dinner was delicious. Not to mention, the establishment was clean. I would recommend to anyone who likes authentic Mexican food. 😋

Google
Food was good, staff was very attentive to the tables, they all seemed to work together to get all the tables taken care of smoother. Burrito meal was definitely too much for me and normally I eat multiple sandwiches for lunch.

Google
My favorite restaurant to get asada tacos from. My family has been going around to the different Mexican restaurants in Woodstock & Crystal Lake every taco Tuesday and La Trinidad always gets thrown back in the mix every other restaurant because we all crave it so badly. Amazing tacos and they are only $2 on Tuesday. You can't beat it. Everyone in our family will always recommend La Trinidad. The Horchata also never disappoints.

Yelp
I come to this restaurant every couple of years & it never fails with its great food & service. Total for 4 people was $80

Yelp
The food was delicious, the service was ok, and getting the bill with a non-cash charge not indicated upfront on the bill was really annoying. It probably would have been a better experience if the waitress mentioned it when she took my card, but she was not very attentive.

Yelp
Good food, fast and friendly service, good menu selection. What more could you ask for? Also the salsa that comes with the home made chips that you get complimentary when you dine in is delicious. The red sauce is very spicy, so a little goes a long way. The green sauce is only a little bit spicy but also has a delicious flavor. Highly recommended for the entire family!

Yelp
Very friendly. Very large portions great tasting as well. Really good salsas. The bread was just baked on my torta.

Yelp
I have been visiting this place for about two years now and I feel like I need to find a new taco place Just stopped in for a quick lunch ordered 4 steak tacos Service is always been really good, but I have noticed a serious declined in the quality of the food. My tacos came with only one corn tortilla per taco; which means after about the second bite they, fell apart onto the tray. after I finished my meal I had probably about an entire taco worth of fat and grizzle leftover. So disappointing.

Yelp
We've searched for good and authentic Mexican food and La Trinidad hits a home run every time.

Yelp
Had their food at a school event. Food was amazing. Service was fast and great. Prices were good. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Al pastor tacos at $3.20 a pop...steep...and had better, had worse. Combo fajitas were good. Garnish dish came with lettuce, rice and beans (no sour cream). Hand made corn tortillas, pico de gallo, cebollitas were all good. Dining room large and filled at lunch time. Servers nice and preferred Spanish.

Yelp
Visit on occasion for fast Mexican food. Food is tasty. Service is good. Just a brief walk from my apartment

Yelp
Love their food and the servers are very nice. I've been there several times. You should give it a try.

Yelp
Authentic traditional Mexican food, always delicious and fresh. Tacos are great but my favorite thing on their menu are the enchiladas Rojas. Portions are large so I hope you're hungry.

Yelp
I have a problem with the fact that this place adds a service charge for using a credit card and doesn't tell you. For that reason I will not come back. Too bad because I like the food and the service is ok but I refuse to put up with ridiculous junk fees. If you intend to gouge your customers like this you should at the very least let them know before you run the card and add the fee. You have just lost a customer.

Yelp
The service alone in this place won my heart! The ladies took such good care of us and made an ordinary night super special. On a Saturday night, the margaritas were $3 so that was nice! You know it's a real Mexican restaurant by the salsa and chips, which they brought out as soon as they sat us down and it did not disappoint at all! There were 2 different house hot sauces which were awesome! It gave the already delicious taco bowl just the kick that I was looking for. You can put any meat on the bowl!!! Love this place! Extra shout out to the hard working ladies that saved my scarf that I left after too many delicious margaritas!!! This place is definitely the perfect trinity of fun, food, and love!!! Sadly I was starving and did not take a picture of my food! But I'll be back when in town for sure!

Yelp
My wife and I both a enchiladas. Hers was chucked with red sauce and mine was pork with green sauce. Everything on the plate was top notch. The rice was some of the best I've had served on the side of your meal. The refried beans came in a fried shell and were also very tasty. The pork was cubed not shredded and seasoned well soaking in verde sauce in homemade tortillas. We will be back.

Yelp
Good food not great, no more Margarita to go even though it's legal. Tacky interior of restaurant... Pricey

Yelp
We came out for Brunch on Sunday And started off with old cold coffee Then We ordered a Steak Burrito that was Good , al pastor taco super dry and chicken enchiladas were Horrible because they had no flavor

Davis P.

Yelp
First time visit will be my last. Very disappointing. Grew up in Woodstock not far from the location. Woodstock has a large latino population and I am guessing most of the locals avoid this place. The salsa and guac we ordered to get things started lacked flavor. The guac was near flavorless and the salsa was better but not much. The carne, pollo, and al pastor was used sparingly in the burritos that were stuffed with rice. Be warned if your order burrito plates you will get even more rice as a side so if you want to leave full you will be.... full of rice. The pastor is not traditional meaning not cooked on a spit and all the meat flavor was meh. If you are in a pinch you will leave full but I'd spend my $$ elsewhere.

Yelp
They have great service. Staff is very attentive and helpful. I ordered the tacos and they are best in mchenry county. Ribeye steak tacos are out of this world. Steak is very tender and flavorful. Highly recommend the ribeye tacos. Torres are incredible as well

Yelp
where to begin, the food was excellent. i had no issues. I ate and paid 37.97 Then i checked my account and I was charged 72.97. HHMMM, ok. That's not right. i sent my husband to deal with the mishap as mistakes happen. But then instead of being gracious and accepting that they made a mistake they begin to question him as if he didn't eat there last night. He dealt with the same person who check us out and we had the receipt and my account says where we ate and the location that charged it. SHAME ON YOU!!! Times are tough i understand but you do not STEAL from the people who are keeping your doors open. Sadly, will never return and that makes me sad as the huaraches i had was delicious.

Yelp
Dined in for lunch at the new Trinidad today (in the old Pizza Hut Building). Food was good and the service matched. The place is somewhat remodeled and feels spacious and clean. Had tacos, a gordita and a glass of horchata (rice water). Will definitely back to try more menu items.

Yelp
Great food, fresh and tasty, nice staff, good atmosphere, not expensive. Will be back.

Yelp
Food is fresh hot spicy and delicious!! Service was quick, friendly, and attentive! A must try!

Yelp
Always a great experience! Good food, good service, and very kind. Celebrated Father's Day and a birthday today and they provided two complimentary desserts. Delicious!

Yelp
This might be the worst dinning experience. Starters.. The salsa was horrible and the chips were bad. Guamole had no taste. The margarita was sitting pre-made and super warm. By time the waitress delivered it the ice was melted. Horrible taste as well. Then the meal came.. Omg the worst chicken borrito I've ever had! The sauce was hideous and the whole thing was ice cold! I should have got up and left! Everything besides the horrible sauce had zero taste. The worst money ever spent!! Seriously Taco Bell would have been %100 better!! I can't believe this place is still open! How can anyone think it's good? The service wasn't the greatest on top of it all. Never ever will be a thought to go there. It dosnt deserve one star but you have to rate.
google avatar

Katie J.

Yelp
What a hidden gem! Everything was delicious, homemade salsa, homemade tortillas and chips...yum! Staff could not have been friendlier. My husband who hates Mexican food gobbled down his dinner and actually suggested we order from there again.
google avatar

Mike G.

Yelp
Great atmosphere, the service is friendly and fast. I love the enchiladas and they serve the best refrained beans! Lots of space for social distancing. See you there!
google avatar

Yelp
El Pastor Tacos are the best I have ever had!!! I haven't been to this place in 5 years and is exactly how I remember it. Love It!!

Yelp
By far the best Mexican restaurant in area, likely in the whole of the NW suburbs. The restaurant is located in an old Pizza Hut building on Rt. 47, right near the Woodstock Harley-Davidson place. Don't let the exterior of the building fool you- this place is amazing. We've been several times, and brought many of our out-of-town friends. All of them have remarked that the food is flavorful, masterfully cooked, and delicious! Their mole is rich and dark, and their table sauces are amazing. This is how Mexican food should be made. Point of note: Most of the folks I have heard who dislike this restaurant are, well, likely idiots. This is not a "On The Border" Americanized pseudo-Mexican food place. If you want real, honest, authentic Mexican food, this is the place. Just leave your white colonial mindset at home, and come in with an open heart. Your stomach will thank you.
google avatar

Carolina R.

Yelp
Best authentic Mexican food in town! You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The seafood dishes are very decadent & delicious. Great for a quick bite, celebrations, catering or even pick up.

Yelp
The food here is authentic and delicious. I had a vegetarian burrito and it was great. My husband got a bomba sandwich which he said was different and tasty. The fajitas were seasoned well and were enjoyed by our guest. The service is a little spotty . The first time, the order was wrong and paying the bill took a long time . The second visit, the order was 100%, but again, trouble getting someone to take the bill... which is the only reason there are only 3 stars. We have gone to this resteraunt in their old location and think it is just as good in their new place. We will return.
google avatar

Yolanda L.

Yelp
Never coming here again, food was disgusting no flavor at all, I ordered a margarita and there was a hair in it, told the waitress, she didn't seem to care, instead of apologizing and offering another drink, nope! When I went to pay, told them of my experience and they just did not care.
google avatar

Joanna C.

Yelp
When we drove by, we were kinda sketchy about going because it's the old Pizza Hut building. But when I saw the reviews were decent.... We thought.... why not!?! The staff was smiling right when we walked in and super friendly. That is something I always pay attention to! They have really good drink specials and the chips and salsa were really good! The food is authentic which is really hard to come by out this way. We will be back! :)
google avatar

Christina E.

Yelp
The margaritas here are SO good. Not to mention the awesome fajitas they serve! My favorite combo!
google avatar

Christina C.

Yelp
Authentic and amazing. I'm talking about the margaritas! They have an awesome menu which I still have yet to try, because their steak fajitas hit so good I can't imagine ordering anything else definitely gonna explore the menu more after quarantine!

Randy B.

Yelp
Our daughter wanted to try this place again for her birthday. I tried talking her out of it but she wanted to try it anyway. We got exactly what I expected. Bland food and very slow poor service. Not gonna waste anymore time... mine or yours... just don't go!

Lizbeth O.

Yelp
La Trinidad is a really good authentic restaurant. I've been to other restaurants in Woodstock and no other compares. The service was amazing, nothing to complain about. The burritos and fajitas are super good, I've tried a lot of their dishes and never had something wrong with them, they're all so delicious
google avatar

Chris G.

Yelp
My husband kept hounding me to try this place. On a Friday night this place was empty. Restaurant was clean. Food service was fast but the waitress never refilled our drinks, chips/salsa or checked on us. Food was fresh and flavorful. We had the combination platter and chimichanga. We couldn't get over how well the chimichanga held its shape and didn't fall apart at the first cut like most. We will definitely be back here.

Carter C.

Yelp
Very good / authentic food! I like all the different choices of tacos they have to offer. Good spot to eat if you are in Woodstock, IL.

Brian R.

Yelp
Chicken fajitas are a good as I remember! I don't like onions so they give me extra bell peppers, along with extra house made corn tortillas. Highly recommended!

M L.

Yelp
Never great when we go but my in laws love the convenience, that was until the entire family got salmonella poisoning.
google avatar

Mark M.

Yelp
The worst at taking orders. The whole phone order was messed up. Hire people who take pride in their job. Service like this will be a short lifespan for this business hopefully
google avatar

Steven E.

Yelp
Needed a quick bite to eat while in the area.... Decided to drive in and give it try. True authentic Mexican! Great tacos and great salsa! I really can't see any other Mexican resistant in this area being this good! I definitely while go back if I'm ever in the area! Staff was very friendly!
google avatar

Jerry E.

Yelp
This place is solid! This is my first time here, but it won't be the last. I'm not in this area all the time, but when I am, this is where I'll be having lunch! I had a simple but delicious lunch. Three tacos. Two tacos de lomo, and one taco al pastor. The lomo was tender and very flavorful, and the pastor was cooked perfectly. It was exactly what I expect when I go into an authentic taqueria, but as you know, doesn't always happen. Do yourself a favor, and stop here if you're like for good Mexican food.
google avatar

Yelp
3+ years after my last post: I'll throw in an extra star based on their takeout. Again, we don't eat in here, but their burritos and tacos are very tasty, the beans are so smooth and delicious that my husband has now been getting an extra order so we have leftovers, and he even now likes Mexican style rice because theirs is good. They fill the orders in a timely manner, and the hostess is always friendly when picking up. They have good horchata too, which I opted for one time when I arrived a little too early for picking up dinner. Again though, they just aren't on the same level for a similar burrito order from Mixteca down the road on 47. There's still Muenster on my La Trinidad burrito.
google avatar

Cheryl A.

Yelp
After going to the "highly recommended" restaurants for tacos we tried La Trinidad. We have done take out many times. The one time our order was made incorrectly they remade it while I waited 2 more times to be sure it was correct. I didn't wait more than 5 minutes. For us La Trinidad outranks any other local place to get tacos. We will be back!
google avatar

Maria G.

Yelp
Best Authentic Mexican restaurant in the area hands down!! Great food, Super friendly staff, and awesome service! Overall a great experience. Will definitely be coming back soon!

Leticia G.

Yelp
Maybe I have an unpopular opinion, but in Woodstock, this is as authentic and delicious as Mexican food gets. It's just as good as the one in Harvard. The menu items are unique and full of flavor, and there's plenty to choose from. I've tried other Mexican restaurants in Woodstock, and they just don't compare. Others are way too mild and Americanized, catered to a non-Mexican palette. It's a shame that more people can't appreciate La Trinidad, but I'll take my business here when I want Mexican food in Woodstock. As far as the service goes, I can't speak for how great that is. The ladies that took care of us did a fine job I had no complaints. We were the only ones in the restaurant, though, so I would have to go when it is fuller to really test that part. Highly recommend alambre, which is carne asada with sauteed peppers, onions and cheese on top, or even any of the "bombas" which are spicy meats with melted cheese.
google avatar

Marilu O.

Yelp
Great restaurant! One of my favorite places to go in Woodstock. Best authentic mexican food here. Beautiful, fast, friendly waitresses and great quality food. You won't regret it. I go every single week and always leave with a happy face.

Yelp
Went here on a whim since my 10 yr old really NEEDED a cheese and chicken taco. We r impressed. We were the only ones there the waitress was nice and greeted us and took our orders right away. We got our food nice and fast and it was yummy! My daughter rated their chicken tacos her 2nd fav (mine being first if course) I had the chicken taco and one steak both were very good had flavor and was more than enough meat on the taco. Over all very good experience and will be back again. When the waitress came back delivering my daughter second order of tacos she was sure to tell the waitress it was "DELICIOUS"
