Me and my friend had a spontaneous dinner here yesterday even though we didn’t have any reservations made and the place was packed. The staff kindly informed us beforehand that the table we would be getting needed to be cleared an hour later for it was already reserved, yet they still managed to squeeze us in their restaurant and give us a great service and experience. Atmosphere, accommodation, service and food was easily 10/10. Price is more than fair for the quality they offer. Definitely one of the best Osteria in Milan.

Fantastic atmosphere and busy every night you need to book a table but if you’re lucky u can walk in and get a table. Staff were excellent. Lovely food and wine!

Amazing dinner and great service. The goat & pear ravioli was fantastic and my Ossobuco was incredibly tender and delicious, veal w/panko breading was also delicious but needed lemon and a little salt added. We had our server recommend/surprise us with desserts and he did not disappoint! The puffed pastry w/chantilly cream and the cooked cream and pine nut cake were light and delicious. I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant!

Considering its popularity, making a reservation is advisable for a seamless dining experience. It would be great have some digestives especially after a generous table bill.

Great dinner, amazing food and superb service. Found the place by chance and got a table immediately. Had 2 antipasti and one primo. Incredible anchovies and delicious arancini with ossobuco sauce and parmigian foam, followed by amazing tagliatelle al ragú. Very attentive waiters, one of them really funny and also good recommending wines. Acceptable price for the high quality food.

First of all, what a nice family and staff in the restaurant. I was here 15 years ago, and it was perfect. Now, I visited again, and it was even better. Great food, great place, great owners, and great staff. Thanks for having us, and Marco see you next year!

We began with an assortment of salumi and Mortadella al Tartufo, accompanied by artichokes - each dish was a testament to the quality ingredients and skillful preparation that La Vecchia Lira is known for. For the main course, we opted for the Fiorentina steak for three, alongside Cotoletta, a decision that left us entirely captivated by the flavors and craftsmanship of the kitchen. The mains were so visually and gastronomically appealing that we were entirely engrossed, forgetting to capture the moment with photos - a rare occurrence in today's digital age. To conclude the meal, we indulged in Tiramisu, a dessert that perfectly encapsulated the meal's essence: classic, comforting, and meticulously prepared. La Vecchia Lira remains a favorite for its unwavering commitment to authenticity, quality, and the culinary artistry that defines Italian cuisine. Whether you're a first-time visitor or a returning patron, this restaurant offers a consistently memorable dining experience that comes highly recommended.
