I had not heard of this place before but, one of our friends who had been here in the past, suggested we try it. I must admit, it was a disappointing experience and I would not give it more than 2.5 stars. I am only giving it that, due to the fact that, the restaurant itself is quite nice and, has a big outdoor area for warmer days.
It's quite a charming place on the inside, with seats for about 80-100 people. All the staff are Italian and looks like they have been here for ages. The restaurant was not busy at all when we came in however, the service was quite slow and, I had to flag down the waiters quite a few times, to get any attention. There was no more than 20 people in the place having lunch :-(
The menu is quite extensive and there is something for everyone. I was there with three others and they all had pizza, whilst I had the pasta, off the daily specialist list. Scampi with tagliatelle aglio olio. When my dish arrived it was dry and, the pasta a little bit too al dente for me. The dish lacked flavour and I had to add chili, salt, pepper and Parmesan so that it was edible. As I was quite hungry I ate it, but did not enjoy it. I tried the crema Catalana for dessert and it was also quite dense and slightly doughy texture which is quite weird. I love this dessert and was slightly disappointed.
The positives here are the prices which are quite reasonable. The Aperolspritz was also quite ok and the coffee was ok. The place has a nice ambience and you can tell it's been here for ages.
Having said all that i would not come back here again. In a town filled with great Italian restaurants and amazing pasta places, I don't feel the need to come here to get the Italian feeling. I can do that at my neighboring pasta joint and enjoy the food immensely ;-))
