The restaurant itself is quite a pleasant place — warm lighting, comfortable seating, and an atmosphere that suggests you’re in for a good meal. I ordered the parmigiana, and I have to say it truly stood out. The flavors were rich and well-balanced, and it felt like a dish made with real care. The service, on the other hand, left a bit to be desired. While everything was efficient enough, the staff came across as somewhat distant, which took away from the otherwise welcoming setting. My wife ordered the ceceri tria dish, and unfortunately it didn’t make much of an impression. It wasn’t bad, just rather ordinary and lacking the depth or creativity we had hoped for. Overall, the experience was fine — not terrible, not amazing — just okay.

Excellent typical Italian cuisine. Excellent service, they were accessible to an English speaker. Great wine recommendation along with other food items. Massive raw fish platter for 28E (it would be double that back home ) , great fried fresh fish. Only slight negative was the polpo was slightly too charred. Loved it in sum.

La Vecchia Osteria da Totu offers a truly Italian experience for a fair price. Their menu is highly seasonal and local, and the quality of the ingredients is high - especially given the great prices. We had a pleasant experience as the servers joked around and were happy to provide us with recommendations on the menu.

The place was fully booked, we got a table for 2 indoor (because we eat early, we live in Ireland). The service was impeccable, the food was generous, tasty and cheap. We had a very good white wine from Puglia. We had great time, highly recommended.

We visited here twice because the food was exceptionally good and the staff was really friendly. I would highly recommend trying the Ciceri e tria pasta.

It was by far our best dining experience in Lecce. The restaurant is mostly frequented by locals, and the staff were unbelievably attentive. Despite how busy they were, they went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and took the time to explain every dish with genuine care. We tried the parmigiano, the appetizer platter, the mixed seafood pasta, and the mussel pasta — every single bite was outstanding. We ended the evening with a divine dessert that was the perfect finish to an unforgettable meal. The prices are very reasonable, even compared to other places in Lecce that offer much lower quality. Without a doubt, I’ll be coming back again.

Authentic trattoria with qualitative dishes & very kind staff. While it was a busy evening, they made sure everything was up to standards. I ordered a catch of the day & could chose my preference from a platter. Once ready, one waiter came to clean & nicely presented the boneless fish. Fair prices ! If you’re looking for the real, qualitative and authentic trattoria.. this is it !

We were recommended this place by a few locals including our host, and we weren’t disappointed as we dined alongside locals in the heart of Lecce. Service was speedy and the food was delicious with generous portions. Our cheapest and cosiest meal in Puglia: an extensive cheese platter, 2 huge pasta dishes, a bottle of wine and dessert for under 50 euros!
