La Vela Boutique Hotel

Two weeks ago we stayed at La Vela Boutique in Manuel Antonio and we were very pleased with our experience. The hotel has an ideal location, just a short walk from the National Park and the beach, which makes it very easy to enjoy everything the area has to offer. We really loved our room: it was spacious, comfortable, and very clean, which made our stay even more enjoyable. One of the highlights was the gardens, beautifully maintained and surrounding the property with a relaxing tropical atmosphere. Walking through them or simply resting by the pool surrounded by nature was one of the best parts of our stay. The breakfast was also excellent: varied, fresh, and served in a very pleasant setting — perfect to start the day with energy. In the afternoons, we enjoyed the pool — ideal for relaxing after visiting the park or the beach — and also the restaurant. We tried the wood-fired pizza, which was truly delicious, and the cocktails, very well prepared, which made the experience by the pool even better. Finally, we want to highlight the staff’s service. They were always kind, attentive, and ready to help at all times. That warm and friendly treatment really made us feel welcome. In conclusion, La Vela Boutique combines a great location, comfortable rooms, beautiful gardens, good food, and excellent service. We definitely recommend it and look forward to returning in the future.

We loved the location of the hotel, just a 5-minute walk to the entrance of Manuel Antonio National Park. We also loved the setting, and really enjoyed seeing the monkeys run around in the trees near the breakfast area.|Breakfast was good - omelettes, gallo pinto, pancakes, eggs & bacon, fresh fruit. Their onsite restaurant only offers pizza so we didn't try it. We did sit down for smoothies one night and they were delicious and reasonably prices.|Daily housekeeping and friendly staff.|Spacious room and bathroom. |The sink faucet would go from a trickle to a powerful spray in a split second and needed some getting used to. The shower head is also directly on the ceiling, so if you don't want to get your hair wet every time you take a shower, then you'll need a shower cap. |I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again next time we are in Manuel Antonio.

We stayed here for 4 nights and really liked the place, the property itself was in a really good location with the beach only a few minutes walk and Man Antonio national park only around 5 minute walk too so this ticked all the boxes for us. ||The room was pretty good, nice and clean and the swimming pool was really good we were in it most days. We would be sitting by the pool having a beer and the squirrel monkeys would come by most days messing around above the bar. ||If you want beach and national park this is your place to stay!

What a lovely boutique hotel, surrounded by lots of beautiful trees and plants. Check in and check out were seamless, and the front desk staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and spacious, and the team was very sweet to place a greeting card and wine in my room for my birthday. The staff will hold your room key so you don’t misplace it while you’re out and about. They have beach towels on hand, the beach is a quick 5 minute walk away. La Vela is central to some restaurants & shops, some are within walking distance and others can be accessed by car/taxi or the beach shuttle. We enjoyed a poolside breakfast which offers some continental grab & go style options and other items cooked to order. We didn’t make it to happy hour but enjoyed a dip in the pool on our last night.

We recently stayed at La Vela Boutique Hotel and had an absolutely wonderful experience. From the moment we checked in, everything was perfect – the warm welcome, the beautiful room, and the excellent housekeeping. Compliments to the whole team for running this hotel so well! One evening we enjoyed a delicious pizza by the pool, and every night we treated ourselves to cocktails – the bartender in the evenings is truly fantastic. The location couldn’t have been better for us: we didn’t even need the car, as the beach and plenty of restaurants were just a short walk away. A stay we will definitely repeat – highly recommended!

I cannot share details about the hotel itself, but I can comment on my experience with management. We were unfortunately impacted by the government shutdown and had to cancel our trip due to concerns over flight cancellations. When we reached out to the hotel with these extenuating circumstances they refused to come to any sort of compromise other than letting us know it was non-refundable. Normally I would be fine and chalk it up to normal travel challenges, but this time it was really out of my hands and I was surprised they couldn't provide any resolution. They also took 5 days to respond to capital one's travel resolution request. Their hotel might be great, but I don't think I would stay there based on how they reviewed this situation.

The location of La Vela Boutique could not be more perfect. Close to everything. Easy walk to Manuel Antonio Park and the beach. The staff really went out of their way to make our visit special. I happened to mention that I recently retired so when we arrived there was a congratulatory card and gifts in our room! The pool was fabulous, as were the poolside drinks and pizza from their bar. But the really special treat was seeing many squirrel monkeys up in the trees around the pool. I highly recommended La Vela Boutique! You don’t need to leave the place to have a full experience.

We stayed in the suite and it was even better than the photos showed online. The room had a cali king bed as well as a queen bed (which was perfect for us). There was only 2 coffee cups which was a bit annoying as there were 3 of us. One very large bathroom with everything you needed. The pool area is cute and they offer breakfast there everyday. The gallo pinto was amazing. The pool bar doesn’t open until 13:00 on the weekends, which was frustrating as many of us were there earlier. This would make sense during the week, but not on weekends. Staff were super friendly and helpful.
