The property is an elegantly designed and maintained ocean front French Colonial mansion recalling earlier days in Indochina while the hospitality is pure warm and gracious Vietnamese - attentive, polite and never intrusive or rushed. The rooms are located in separate bungalows that are large and well-decorated with a private veranda and all amenities. They are all connect by winding brick paths bordered by lush jungle vegetation and flowers. The property has a nice pool and a sand beach adjoining the property. The beach is nominally public but the hotel maintains lounge chairs and umbrellas for its guests. The hotel offers a shuttle to a private beach but we saw no need to take the time away from this beautiful resort. Great bar with an ocean view and live music.

I love the stay there. Everybody is welcoming. I do appreciate the service of Sam, Sunny and other adorable staff. They are truly excellent. The facility is great. The room was carefully cleaned up and full of carefully designed details. Although the beach was not very suitable for swimming at this moment. Everything else was fantastic.

From the welcome drink and service we received when we arrived to the farewell gift when we left, we have been in awe of La Veranda and cannot wait to return. All staff were outstanding and special mention to Guest Relations Manager Sam who was an absolute superstar and also to trainee Megan, Cara and Sunny who warmly greeted us every morning st breakfast. The hotel and grounds are beautiful with a stunning private beach. The rooms are traditional, well sized and cleaned immaculately every day, Staying at La Veranda really was the highlight of our trip to Phu Quoc. You are treated like family and not just a number like big chain resorts. The breakfast is both buffet with al a carte menu. All food is served fresh and well presented. It was truly faultless on all levels and all staff are an absolute credit to management. Thank you La veranda for making our holiday so memorable. Jeanette and Nick

The whole place gave me a very colonial feel vibe, the structure of the hotel is nice but that's all. The room itself is rather dark and old. Since they are charging at this rate from customers, they can do some small upgrade for their rooms. They are not very generous with their amenities as well. Is a beach front hotel but they only provide very small bottles of shampoo and shower gel for a family of 3. If your hotel is going to give out complementary services or happy hours ordering. please at least adjust to a longer time. Bar is only open until 10pm. Trees and plants were overgrown and make its difficult for family with small children to walk, the hotel walk way to the pool and dining area is not shelter so is not very safe to walk around during rainy days. The road to the main street from the hotel is very dark and feel kind of unsafe to walk alone. The breakfast portion is small compared to other hotels and selection is limited. Very strict with check out timing. The only good thing is they provide airport shuttle which is one of the reason we booked this hotel. In short, nice building structure for you to take photos and provide shuttle service to airport. not worth the price.

Exceptional from the moment we arrived, the experience was flawless. The staff were incredibly attentive—nothing was ever too much trouble. Every detail had been carefully thought out, from the beautifully appointed room that had everything we could possibly need, to the thoughtful messages from Madame Vermont that added such a personal touch.Little extras, like the charming pepper gift, made us feel truly valued. The hotel itself is stunning, with its elegant French colonial style, and the environment was wonderfully peaceful. The private beach, immaculate pool area, and lush gardens created a perfectly relaxing escape.Dining at Pepper Restaurant was a highlight—the food was absolutely fantastic and beautifully presented. This trip exceeded all expectations. We can’t wait to return!

Review for La Veranda Resort, Phu QuocThe overall vibe of La Veranda Resort has a charming colonial feel, and the architecture of the hotel is quite nice. However, there are several aspects that made the experience less enjoyable, especially for families with young children. Not Kid-Friendly:The layout of the resort is not very suitable for kids. There’s no covered walkway between the rooms and main areas like the lobby or restaurant. If it rains, you’ll need an umbrella to get around—but they only provide one umbrella per room. Even after requesting a second one, it was later taken back without notice.Limited Amenities:Although it’s a beachfront resort, amenities are quite basic. Only a small bottle of shampoo was provided. There were no pool or beach towels available, which was surprising. The swimming pool is also small.Room Concerns:For families with children, be aware that the bed height is unusually high—it was difficult for our child to climb up and down safely. Also, the path leading to the rooms is poorly lit and can feel unsafe at night.Service Disappointments:During checkout, my son asked for a few extra biscuits but was turned down. Breakfast was another letdown—it wasn’t a buffet but a fixed set menu with very limited choices, and the food was below average. We also requested a late checkout by just an hour (which we understand might not always be possible), but considering the hotel was not crowded, a little flexibility would have been appreciated.Poor Value for Money:Out of the three hotels we stayed at during our trip to Phu Quoc, La Veranda was the most expensive but offered the least in terms of service and value.Lack of Hospitality:One particularly disappointing moment was regarding a birthday. Since the birthday didn’t fall on the exact date of our stay, the hotel declined to offer even a small cake. While it’s not about the cake or the cost, a gesture of hospitality would have gone a long way. For context, another hotel gave us a whole cake without hesitation—it’s those small touches that make guests feel truly welcome.Final Thoughts:While the setting is peaceful and may suit couples seeking a quiet getaway, I wouldn’t recommend La Veranda for families or those looking for value. In a place like Phu Quoc, where you can get better service and amenities for the same or even lower prices, La Veranda falls short of expectations.

Very pretty hotel, room is also lovely. We got the premier garden king room. We had an excellent stay here! Service was amazing! Lots of complimentary activities like yoga meditation, afternoon tea, evening wine and also a dessert sent to our rooms every evening! Breakfast was semi buffet style with enough variation for a 4 day stay. Staff is super friendly and they really connect with you. Rooms are clean and spacious enough, toiletries were also good. There are shuttle buses provided to sao beach which was convenient too! Just wish there was a cocktail bar for the private beach We arrived in the evening and we got a welcome cocktail and it was the best cocktail we had on our entire trip! Location is also fab with plenty of cafes and restaurants just walking distance away. Spas are a plenty too!

This is a lifetime experience staying at La veranda .The colonial architecture and prime beachfront position are beautiful and it is truly unique.Sam the entertainment manager is incredible and made our holiday special. The hotel put on complimentary events daily which were so nice. The food in the resort is world class and a special thanks to Sunny ,the manager for keeping such a high standard. I cannot speak highly enough of this hotel and staff and only wish we could stay longer!
