The 10 Best Hotels in Cancun of 2024

"La Villa du Golf Cancun is an independently-owned outlier of a property in the Hotel Zone. This six-room guesthouse-style boutique offers intimate vibes, and you’ll likely know the whole staff by name by the time you check out. The multi-level gated villa has a Spanish Colonial style with bright blue doors, colorful bougainvillea, wrought iron, and detailed tiling throughout. Rooms are spacious, clean, and air-conditioned. On-site amenities are sparse but include breakfast, a garden courtyard pool and sun terrace, and in-room massages for suites. This small hotel is located in a quiet area within a 20-minute walk to the central Hotel Zone area, though we recommend taking a taxi back after dark. Guests get free Wi-Fi and parking, and the hotel can arrange airport transfers." - Katherine Alex Beaven Katherine Alex Beaven Katherine Alex Beaven is a Los Angeles-based travel, food and drink, and culture writer. Absolutely perfect experience! The house is owned by a gentleman who is really kind. It is located in a very safe area, quiet and far from the noisy parts of the city. It has a door to enter and park your car in safety. The room is amazing, clean and very well equipped with bath-robes, toiletries, and towels. It has a great view, and you can hear exotic birds singing. The whole villa looks like these amazing California-style villas that you want to stay for ever! The only disadvantage is that it has not elevator and had to lift my luggage on the narrow stair. Price of room was around 50€/night and was really worth it for what we got. Totally recommend it.

We stayed at this hotel and found the experience very enjoyable. The hotel is well-located, close to the beach and attractions, yet in a quieter neighborhood. Buses run frequently at the end of the street, which is convenient. We met the owners, who were absolutely charming and gave us many recommendations for the rest of our trip. There is even parking available if needed, and the area is very secure. The staff is friendly, and we had the chance to have breakfast on the pleasant terrace. The rooms are nicely decorated and well-equipped. We had a wonderful stay and, if we could have, we would have stayed longer.

Great small hotel. Room was very unique, beautiful actually. I believe there were only 6 or 8 rooms in the building. Staff was friendly, breakfast was delicious. Only negative was the air conditioning. It worked, but left a bit to be desired. Possibly undersized for the room? Don't let this MINOR complaint deter you from staying. Well worth it.

Lovely quiet comfortable place. Spacious room. Very pleasant staff. Also speak English which makes it easy if you don't know Spanish. No crowds like the big resorts. ||||Just steps away from the Hotel Zone so easy to get around. Backing onto the golf course. ||||We don't usually take the bus but bus R1 and R2 to Downtown literally runs every minute and only costs $1 so no need to take a taxi to get to Downtown, Market 28 or anywhere on the Hotel Zone.

We had a very good stay at La Villa du Golf. Our room was spacious and very clean, and the property itself is very pretty (the courtyard/pool area looked lovely, though we didn't use the pool). It's located at the end of a long street that ends in a cul-de-sac; the road is very quiet and isolated but felt safe. We were able to walk from the hotel into the heart of the Cancun party/hotel zone to get dinner and explore a bit (though we took a taxi back). The staff were welcoming and friendly and called us a taxi in the morning when we were headed to the airport. ||If you are going to Cancun for partying, you may want to stay in one of the hotels that's a lot closer to the clubs so you don't have a long walk. We took a taxi back after a late dinner because the walk is 20+ minutes and passes through some dark/isolated areas (there is also a bus that runs back and forth to the hotel zone out on the main street).||We only had one brief overnight in Cancun so this didn't matter for us but note that the hotel does not have beach access, if that's important to you during your visit! Thematically, the hotel feels a bit confused (the name suggests it might be French or golf themed, but the decor is very buddhist).||Overall, a comfortable, clean, and quiet place to stay, with friendly staff!

Beautiful villa turned into a small hotel, located in a quiet street not far from the hotel zone. The suite we stayed in was nice, spacious and cozy, the bed was very comfortable. Couple of breakfast options on the menu like omelette variations and crepes. The staff was very helpful and friendly. There is a small parking on the premises, but also a bus station nearby on the main road, couple of minutes walking distance. The area is very nice and safe and there is a gas station, pharmacy and a couple of fast food restaurants nearby. Bonus: 4 cute cats that live around the villa

I spent 7 nights at this lovely villa. The area where the villa is located is quiet, clean, but also close to the hotel area (walking distance - 20 minutes). The staff is incredibly nice and friendly. The breakfast is good (there are several options to choose from the menu, and also a buffet with cheese and fruit). The room was clean, spacious and the bed was comfortable. There are parking spots in their front yard, but also around the villa. Bonus: 4 cute cats live there as well.

The staff are wonderful, the rooms are clean & spacious, and the location is great! We were able to walk for about 5 mins to get to the nearest convenience store and restaurants. The beach is about 15-20 mins by foot. Breakfast was delicious too. Would definitely stay here again! Keep in mind you're staying in Villa so this isn't your typical hotel experience; frankly we preferred this and found it more hospitable and cozy.
