La Villa Guy, Beziers, France - Explore & Book

"Béziers is one of Europe’s most ancient towns, and yet somehow, it remains something of a secret – certainly by ‘south of France’ standards. What's more, it’s only 20 minutes from the airport, making it a perfect mini-break destination. Where to stay? Enter La Villa Guy. This dreamy 150-year-old abode stands hidden among a hectare of wondrous, lush green parkland and is steeped in history. You’d never guess you were in the heart of the town. An ornate marble fountain trickles somewhere among the trees, striking ancient sculptures scatter the gardens, and a heated pool glimmers in the sunshine. Inside, the six individually styled rooms and suites dazzle with an elegant mix of old and new. Each brims with character: think quirky wall art, grand high ceilings, chic parquet floors and pure-white freestanding tubs. We especially love the chic private terraces overlooking the gardens. Spend days drifting from spa to pool, then to the relaxing lounge for a glass of something local and delicious before heading out for dinner. You’re perfectly placed here: Montpellier, Carcassonne and the coast can be reached within the hour. Or simply navigate Béziers' maze-like streets, where boutiques await and restaurants buzz. Finish with an evening stroll along the canal before retreating back to your tranquil hideaway. Bliss. Highs Oh-so-chic decor that appears at every turn: wall art, sculptures, jazzy wallpaperThe majestic and highly photogenic poolThe service, which is reportedly excellentIts stunning parkland setting, in the heart of Béziers' buzzy old townWe've heard good things about the small but luxurious spa Lows Only breakfast is served, but there are plenty of dining options within walking distanceEvents take place here sometimes, so check before bookingNot all rooms come with a bath" - Handpicked by our hotel experts

"Though this splendid old edifice has recently celebrated its 150th birthday, by local standards La Villa Guy is still practically brand new. Béziers is one of France’s oldest cities, dating back to pre-Roman times, and La Villa Guy is uniquely located in a one-hectare park right in the city center, a designated historic monument with an Andalusian aesthetic and a Moorish-inspired garden. As for the hotel, it’s as unusual as its setting: just six rooms and suites, plus a pair of lounges, a bar, a billiards room and library, a swimming pool, and even a balcony and rotunda with a commanding view of the park." - Tablet Hotels

La Villa Guy & Spa was a wonderful place to stay and we'll definitely be going back. We had 4 nights in the Jeanne Guy suite which had lots of space, a gorgeous balcony to enjoy and views of the garden. The hotel was quiet, had all of the different amenities we wanted (and more) and with only a few rooms, was quiet and restful which allowed us to relax. The drinks, breakfast and great service by the staff, for whom nothing was too much trouble made it a special place to stay and worth every penny. The pool was warm, seating area with umbrellas perfect and gardens wonderful to wander around as they are neatly kept. I cannot compliment the hotel enough. It's lovely.

The building is beautiful but not as well maintained as it could be. Especially the gardens. The website is very proud of its gardens but there were weeds everywhere and some of the grass had not been cut and so looked very tatty. The pool didn’t look as clean as it should with lots of rubbish in the bottom and weeds growing through the vents on the patio.|Breakfast was far too expensive for what was on offer. We felt the staff felt pressurised and so therefore didn’t feel we had the best customer service. On our first day we were told to settle into our room and come down when ready to be shown around the hotel. We did that only to be ignored for at least 15 minutes while the member of staff was in a meeting of some kind. We can down early before leaving for our evening meal to enjoy our welcome drink. Unfortunately there was no member of staff to be found and the bare area neglected. There was a private party on the patio which we had not been advised about so we felt we couldn’t even enjoy an evening moment by the pool.|The bed linen was poor and not what we expected from a top class hotel.

We absolutely love this beautiful boutique hotel in Beziers. We stayed 2 years ago and couldn’t wait to come back. We are catching a train to Barcelona tomorrow - which is really handy. The rooms are lovely the pool divine and the staff are so helpful and friendly. Would highly recommend c

Gorgeous with amazing gardens. Beautifully appointed rooms. Lovely pool and a nice mixture of seating and sunloungers around the pool. The gardener does a wonderful job as everything is perfectly maintained. There are surprises around every corner in the extensive gardens.

La Villay Guy was outstanding. The suite was spacious, comfortable and well designed. The gardens large and inviting. Breakfast relaxing and pleasant. The staff were all outstanding including at the bar - excellent and surprisingly innovative cocktails. They helped us with reservations and the whole experience was tremendous.
