"You’ll need to book months ahead to snag one of the seven tables in this intimate island restaurant. The Corsican-born chef, Damien Rinaldi-Dovio, combines classic French gastronomy with Polynesian flavors, and has been winning raves from guests since 2004. His wonderful—and, yes, pricey—tasting menus offer multiple courses with optional wine pairings; the menu also listsà la carteoptions."

Villa Mahana is an absolute gem in Bora Bora. The setting is intimate and romantic, with only a few tables, and the service is warm and attentive. The food is on another level—easily Michelin quality. Every dish we had was creative, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. The wine pairings were spot on, and the whole evening felt unforgettable. It’s pricey, but worth every penny. Hands down one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in French Polynesia.

An intimate and unique dining experience. We had an evening meal during our Honeymoon at Villa Mahana, and enjoyed an intimate VIP experience in a private dining area with 3-courses by their very-skilled chef. The atmosphere and service was incredibly special, with a speciality of seafood - especially the Lobster & Prawn risotto which was a real standout. The owner clearly takes great pride in the experience they offer, ensuring everything runs smoothly and going out of their way to make guests feel looked after. The seamless pickup and drop-off service also made the evening feel completely effortless. Thank you for accommodating us - it was a very special evening.

Staying across the street, I couldn’t help but be drawn in by the warm, inviting ambience radiating from this beautiful little restaurant. The staff and chef were incredibly welcoming, and it ended up being one of the best culinary experiences of my life. The beef was cooked to perfection: tender, flavorful, and topped with the most incredible wine sauce. The wine pairing was absolute perfection as well. I didn’t know exactly what I was walking into, but I left with memories — and flavors — that will stay with me forever. A true hidden gem in Bora Bora that is well worth the visit.

An absolutely magical and sensory delight. During a recent visit to the Westin Bora Bora, hubby and I ventured off campus to experience this highly recommended restaurant and it didn’t d not disappoint. La Villa Mahana was most certainly the culinary highlight of our Tahitian holiday. Everything was perfection; the ambiance - romantic, food - divine and generous, service - timely & friendly but not intrusive, and the value was tremendous. We were hosted like family one actually likes. Logistically, the concierge at our hotel made reservations and arranged return water taxi and shuttle service for &35 per person. The restaurant timed our dinner perfectly to allow for transportation curfews. Do not skip this when on Bora Bora. We can’t wait to come back.

We loved our dining experience. We were seated upstairs in a e parlor and treated like VIPs. Every course was divine. We were even sent home with gifts ~~ Two beautiful signature saurongs. Make reservations early. There are only 8 tables and one seating per night.

I believe this is the best place you can eat on Bora Bora. It was clear from the beginning to the end of the night that this restaurant is the outlet of its chef’s earnest desire to create a memorable and special fine dining experience. It is really a passion project and has emotion and authenticity that I found touching. The chef uses ingredients from the islands such as Tahitian vanilla in the sauce for the beef. I had the exotic menu and I really enjoyed every dish. It’s not easy to create an experience like this on such a far flung place as one of the Society Islands, and I believe it’s only possible thanks to the vision of the chef. P.S. They played Pépé Bradock’s ‘Bateau Ivre’ rework of Cesária Évora’s ‘Angola.’ As a huge fan of Pépé, I was amazed to hear anything of his being played.
