In general for this price is nice: to have jacuzzi in room, breakfast can be brought in room, warm pool, free bicycle, designers made good job on decorations and style. But….rooms are not well maintained: it’s a humid mouldy smell inside, and bathtub needs more taking care because it’s already has calcium stains, as well as some towels has stains. But we had nice time anyway, very happy with hotel still🥰

We have stayed at several properties in Jose Ignacio and thought we would give La Viuda a try as we were bringing some friends back in November ||We were not impressed! ||We check in and it appeared to be no one there and then it took 15 minutes to determine what room we were in. We go to the room, which looked comfortable and during the demo of the hot tub, they are unable to shut it off. So, off to another room. ||Same room but in the morning, we find towels and sheets that are stained. |We go down for breakfast in the morning at 8:14am and find out that it is not served until 9am. No one was there. They could have offered us something but did not. ||So, we left and cancelled our November reservation another reservation we had for November. ||Definitely not a good experience and they to focus on basic upkeep.

Very pleasant location and comfortable room. They also offered bikes and beach equipment for loan, along with an excellent breakfast in the morning. The staff were very helpful and the outdoor open space was welcoming and beautiful. A nice place in Jose Ignacio.

The place is very charming. Each room has its own decoration, the best one of them located in a corner with incredible balcony and great view of the camp and sea (a little bit far (less than 1 km) , as well as the city center and its stories and nice restaurants (around 4 km). The pool is great, seems like into the surrounding woods and luxury beach houses. The place has its own bath inside the room, the breakfast is served from 9.00 (in the room). The people was very helpful all the time, helping with local reservations and general tips. They had a reservation mistake, but the fixed it immediately with a great compensation. The place is not a luxury one,

Beautiful place to stay at. We went for a romantic weekend with my husband. We stayed in a Superior Suite Superior with jacuzzi and sea view. It had air conditioning, an indoor stove, a nice terrace, it was a cozy comfortable room. The place had an open pool, and they served indoor breakfast an lend bicycles to ride around the area. Well located, quiet roundabouts. Very peaceful and relaxing place to stay at. Restaurants were about 5/10 minutes car ride. And the beach was very close walkable distance, they lend you beach chairs and umbrellas. The staff was really friendly and helpful.

We only stayed one night but the hotel is marvellous. The owners and staff were extremely accommodating with multiple questions and constantly changing request from our group and the rooms while simple were clean and comfortable. Our visit was out of season so the exterior was a bit weather beaten but understandable when you are 5 minutes from a magnificent Atlantic Ocean beach. Loved it’s mid century style, the location and the relaxed ambience. Our host was very helpful and advised us on a brilliant bar and restaurant while friends in another hotel locally were told everything is closed and went to bed hungry.

Hotel la Viuda de José Ignacio is located outside town just off R10. La Viuda offers 20 rooms over 2-3 floors. It is a slightly outdated, yet pleasant hotel at walking distance of the beach. The breakfast is very good. Staff are friendly and attentive.||||José Ignacio is a small fishing village that recently has been transformed into a chic and exclusive holiday destination with expensive boutique hotels, good restaurants and an array of stunning modern houses. The result is, depending the season, high to very high prices.||||Our spacious room was semi-chicly furnished and decorated, had a good double bed, desk & chair, couch, wardrobe with safe, flat screen TV, coffee & tea making facility and a jacuzzi. We had a tiny separate bathroom with toilet, bidet & shower. The washbasin is in the room. All was clean.||||At the balcony you find a sunbathing bench for 2 and you enjoy a view of the nearby villas as the beach is further away. In the common garden you find an uninviting pool and resting chairs. Staffs did not make the effort to clean the pool. We saved a large frog swimming endlessly in the pool.||||We would recommend this hotel to anyone who seeks a good night’s sleep, appreciates a good breakfast and doesn’t care for pricing.

We visited Jose Ignacio to celebrate a friend's wedding and stayed a few kilometers outside town at La Viuda de Jose Ignacio. We loved it! We were welcomed warmly by the owner, Ricardo, who treated us as honored guests. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and filled with lots of light. There was original artwork throughout the hotel, and a welcoming sitting area downstairs where you could read magazines or buy some local wine to enjoy. We ate a leisurely breakfast every morning on the beautiful garden terrace and felt so relaxed. I don't know if it was the sea air, the comfortable bed, or being so far removed from it all, but I don't think I've ever slept better than I did the several days we were at La Viuda de Jose Ignacio!
