"Rob Bragagnolo spent the early days of the pandemic rethinking paella. “I played around and realized that a metal takeout container is kind of like a paella pan. So, I start it in there, over the flame and finish it in the oven. It travels well and reheats nicely.” Labora’s loyal downtown Toronto customers were perfectly happy ordering his five-course takeout menus, and his wife quit her job to handle packaging and ordering."

Good eats on a heated patio! We ordered a burger, oysters and shrimp. The oysters and shrimp were super fresh, they were both available on special. This Sunday special has shrimp for $1/each & oysters for $2/each. I had a nice glass of wine with my seafood, the server recommended the 2nd option for whites m the menu which was nice and light. The patio was nicely spaced out and they allow dogs which is a major plus for us. I recommend Labora restaurant.

Easily the best seafood options in Toronto! It was our first restaurant dine-in during the whole 6 months due to the pandemic and the experience nothing but pleasant. Their safety and health protocol definitely makes us feel comfortable. Moving on the menus, our server of the night recommend us of some of their special menus and we picked squid paella with hot calamari. It was out of this world! Their calamari sizes are huge and when you dipped it in the squid ink sauce, it feels like 2020 never existed at all. The server did mentioned beforehand for paella dish must be ordered with a minimum of two due to their serving rules. It was superb! Rice with octopus, prawns and artichoke blends perfectly with the herbs in the dish. Octopus very tender and not chewy, as well as the rice was cooked to perfection. This restaurant ambience really puts your mood to chat and eat with your friends, spouse or family. Definitely will come again (and again!).

One of the best Spanish restaurants I have visited in Toronto. The paella was definitely on the larger side than expected. All the food we had was delicious but drinks were very underwhelming. It is for sure on the pricier side but still very worth the value/taste/experience.

The restaurant was super cute!! All the dishes we had were pretty good. The service was really off though. It felt like the server’s mind was somewhere else. Reconfirming more than once what we ordered, our drinks that we ordered before our meal came after the first couple of dishes arrived, i came for my birthday and he said that I’d get a dessert for my birthday but then ended up being on the bill. It was just a really awkward experience.

The ambiance and the atmosphere of the restaurant is really nice. However, the food was not to the level I was expecting it to be. I take food very seriously so I will elaborate in hope the restaurant will do something about it. We started off with a amazing spiced almonds which are really special and you should really try it. They were very fresh and super. As a European, I wanted to try a calamari sandwich which was delicious but it doesn't look as lavish as it shown on the pictures and it was basically a two-bite appetizer. That was probably the best thing I tasted there. We continued with a set of small vegetarian plates and some meats that included octopus and chicken skewers. I grew up in Mediterranean and octopus was something I was expecting to be much more from a Spanish restaurant. Compared to many restaurants that dont actually know how to prepare octopus, Labora has made it very tender and properly prepared. I liked its taste and tenderness. However, this was definitely not a quarter octopus and for a price of 36 CAD I was expecting a bit more out of it. Chicken was tasty, but again it missed that final touch. As a final note, the ambiance and the looks of food is really nice, but the execution could be taken to a higher level. Lastly, I would say you should definitely give it a try and see for yourself. Enjoy!

I had the best seafood paella at Labora Restaurant - very nice ambiance and attentive server. We sat at the bar and were pleasantly surprised by the complimentary Spanish vermouth paired with an anchovy wrapped olive tapas and both were delicious. The lamb ribs topped with a cauliflower puree was also very flavourful. I would definitely return to try other items on the menu.

First time attending any of their locations. This was the pop-up at Cold Tea. Great experience from start to finish. Jordan - who seated us was excellent. Kelly was an attentive and personable server who made a great wine suggestion. Even the playlist was amazing and unique. We had sound hound running the whole time lol. Everything was super fresh and delicious. Highly recommend the bread, which is baked fresh on the grill when ordered and the tuna steak, which was served bone in with the marrrow👌 We'll definitely go back to try other things on the menu next time we're in town. Thanks for the great experience.

I need more photos, better photos because Labora is beyond wonderful. The most incredible vibe, loads of different seating areas with chefs bar, raw bar, people watching through the front window, banquettes and a sweet new private dining room. The Spanish food is made with love by Chef Rob Bragagnolo and his amazing team. Do not miss the cool Vermut list, wine list and cocktails. Simply go here, eat here and go again. Please follow @joannasable on instagram for more food fun. Spoiler Alert 💫 meet @robbragagnolo newest darling @laborarestaurant on Queen West West. It’s incredible! Let’s start with the patio, it’s big roomy, stunning and on the side away from traffic. Next, service, above and beyond in a casual boite that thinks it’s fine dining. Wine list is creative and the drinks oh so well balanced and pretty. But, we came here to eat and we ate brilliantly. Chef Bragnolo’s food has been some of the top eats in Toronto for a very long time and his newest is no different. Presentation is beautiful and flavours are balanced yet powerful. We started with their take on Pan con Tomate with hot bread straight out of the grill, without a doubt my favourite dish looked incredibly simple yet it was text book perfect. Lovely balls of various tomatoes all perfectly peeled in a rich luscious gazpacho with a drizzle of great olive oil. Now, I am not a rice girl but I had 3 helping of the smoky charred octopus rice. The chicken was impossibly moist with the zing of chili and the nuttiness of toasted smashed almonds. You think the humble potato would be humble but no, they melted in my mouth and I adored the creamy dunk. @ssifishco with chorizo and spicy celery juice was to me a fun rift on a Bloody! Dessert was perfect on a warm summers night, creamy rich vanilla soft serve melting with roasted Ontario strawberries. The important and best bit is they TAKE RESERVATIONS! From 530 to 830. They open on Wednesday and like the rest of our beloved restaurants will be gearing up for indoors as well. Tag me, I am dying to hear your thoughts. Congratulations team!
