24 Mesmerizing Mazes and Labyrinths

"The Drielanden Labyrinth (or Three Country Labyrinth) is Europe’s largest outdoor shrub maze. It was built by British landscape artist Adrian Fisher who used 17,000 hornbeam shrubs to constitute the maze. Not only is the maze the most southeasterly place in the Netherlands, but it is also the highest. The most exciting aspect of the Drielandaen Labyrinth, however, is, as its namesake suggests, that it is located where the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany all meet. In the middle of the maze, which is said to take up to an hour to complete, is a platform allowing visitors to look off into any of the three countries as well as at their fellow maze travelers as they struggle in the network of hornbeams below. In addition to the unique entrance building with a roof in the shape of a gigantic butterfly, a water playground has been created with dozens of fountains.  Surrounding the labyrinth are a handful of other recreational activities for visitors to enjoy. There is a playground for the younger crowd and clay shooting and archery for the older crowd. Fittingly enough, there are also smuggling games for visitors to play, where they reenact the once frequent passage of smugglers looking to save their money by jumping borders. And finally, the Border Stone Tavern is located conveniently across the boardwalk from an inn, for those travelers who are looking to spend the night." - ATLAS_OBSCURA

Lovely place for a short walk. Plenty of parking, nice food stall and eat and drink options. Worth quick visit

Very interesting, we were only there 1/2hr, it was raining, we saw what we needed to see, paid for parking with Debit card €3euros now. Crossed all 3 borders, bought some bier and left. On a nice sunny day you could sit and eat and go for a walk in the woods.

With kids they will enjoy but , as an adult, might be a so so experience.

It's a nice labyrinth but the activities are very strange. There's a range of questions but no answers. There are signposts with trivia but you get no feedback on whether your answers are correct. We left feeling very confused - the labyrinth is fun enough but the passport and activities don't seem to make any sense.

It’s a bit expensive for what it is but definitely fun for kids. You can spend the day with kids there. Alot of other activities and food choices. There is parking nearby and some food options. Be careful getting up the hill, might be some traffic.

A lovely spot at the border with various attractions for all ages. The border point is definitely crowded to allow people to take photos and videos. The labyrinth was definitely the highlight of the area, we took about 30 mins to solve it. The information on the 4th country at the centre of labyrinth was very interactive. The arial view tower is 5 eur, but the facility of lift makes it very much accessible for elderly people. Parking is charged at 3 eur and there are 2 electric charging points available.

Very nice location and a tricky maze to navigate. Very fun for the family. Be prepared to get wet if you take the wrong turn or if you don’t cross over the water wall fast enough. 😂 good fun for the whole family.

This is a great place to spend time with family and friends. You think the Labyrinth will be easy but it is deceptively challenging. Our friends who were visiting were not into it initially but the mood quickly changed when they realized it's not as easy as it seems.
