Labyrinth Under the Vegetable Market

Interesting place under the city center. You can't visit it individually, only with guide. The language of the guide is Czech, but a detailed brochure is available on different languages, including Hungarian one. The tour is 50-55 minutes long, temperature is 15 Celcius. Even the 170 stairs sounds not negligible, but one time you must climb up or down maximum 25, so the walk is easy. To book tickets in advance is a must.

My tour on Sunday (1pm) was in English. I was surprised by google reviews saying that the tours are conducted in Czech only (not true!) The English tour guide Mark was great and humorous. Worth a visit if you’re curious about these tunnels. It’s family friendly.

Very nice complex of underground vine and beer cellars below the Brno Vegetable market. Text for the one hour tour is available in many languagues, however the tour guide said only few key points in English. Recommended!

The Tour guide spoke almost exclusively Czech and to be fair, why should expect it to be different? The tunnels have been recently 'cleaned up' for tourist so everything looks rather clean and new. Most of what you see in the tunnels is 'set dressing' rather than actual authentic artifacts. For all this it's a fascinating Tour and if you read along with the translated presentation 'script' you will learn a little about the history of Brno....... and it gets you out of the heat on a hot day.

Well, it was nice to see the underground tunnels but unfortunately there is no tour in English. Some information in a booklet is provided but it is very inconvenient to walk in the dark and read :(

What a lovely tour! Looking at the local/regional history from an unusual angle down below. The guide neither rush us through nor did he overwhelm us with too much information. But he was always opened to questions and proved himself knowledgeable about the place as well as the historical context. Definitely worth the money if you have an hour to spare.
