This place has constantly been going downhill. They husband wife duo just do not seen to care one bit anymore. I had one of the laziest, sloppily made, bland pizzas ever. 3$ frozen Jack's was more suitable. It was cut into random shapes. It was a joke. All topping and cheese were on half as if it was done on purpose, and the crust was the color and taste of a communion wafer, pale and tasteless. Never have i been so embarrassed for someone else's product. Definitely done there.

Frank and Rita are the best! Gotta have a slice or two before you leave the parking lot. Tradition!

Google
Best pizza in town! Crisp crust, stretchy cheese, great toppings, fantastic homemade crumble sausage, all-around favorite!

Google

The people put love and care into the pizzas and I would think of this place if I need good food to make me happy and the people who run it was amazing and kind. Highly recommend.

Google
Got the 18" combination pizza, added anchovies. Yum!!! The best pie in the area on west side south bend, I believe. The sauce was slightly sweet, there was a spiciness that was really nice, and the homemade sausage is great! Very fresh and the crust is good too. Great job!!! 😁😁 Definitely will.be going back again.

Google
Wonderful mom and pop place. Absolutely love their calzones! They also have good sized slices available, at least during lunch. Order well ahead of time for lunch (we give them at least 40 min, as I imagine it takes a bit of time to cook, and in case they're busy), head over to pick up your order, and enjoy! Their homemade Italian sausage is wonderful. The only downside to this place is they don't take cards. Carryout only. Closed Mondays. They're open for lunch, close, then reopen for dinner.

Google
Best ever, crazy good. We eat here at least once a week. Kids go crazy for the pizza! I love the hot sandwiches and the tortellini with cheese. Family ran, best place to spend your money. Guaranteed you will be happy.

Yelp
We were visiting for a competition at Notre Dame and got some take out from this cute family owned shop. We walked in and immediately saw pizzas being made and a customer already waiting. The staff were helpful and ready to answer any questions we had. There is no where to sit and eat but that wasn't why we were there. As we waited, I swear all the customers who had orders being picked up the staff knew their names. It was nice to see a family operated business that was still personable to their neighborhood. Then to top it off, the staff asked to take a photo with our boys who are competing since we were visiting from afar lol. Everything was made to order and fresh! The marinara sauce, chef's kiss! It had a kick! It was my favorite. Our boys of course had a pizza and they crushed it. We hope to make this an annual thing. We can't wait to come back and have a slice of some South Bend hospitality! Want to thank the staff for making us feel so welcomed! Wish we took more pics of the food but we were on a time crunch!

Yelp
Easily my favorite pizza in South Bend. No one else can match their consistently, perfect crust. I would characterize it as it as more of a "thin" crust, yet it's substantial enough to support the toppings. But, the best part is that the crust is both crispy, and chewy, from the outer edge to the center of the pie *chef's kiss*. I just love it. I also recommend including the sausage with the other toppings of your choice. It's deliciously flavored, and the small crumble is both unique and texturally superior, in my opinion. And, I always order extra, because it is equally fantastic eaten cold or reheated in my toaster oven. Thank you, Lacopo's Pizzeria, for never letting me down. I beg you: Please pass your secrets along to the next generation of pizzaioli!

Yelp
Been going here for years. Pizzas great service wonderful we get carry out. Thank you very much for all your years of service. Lacopos Pizzeria.

Yelp
Lacopo's is by far one of the best pizza places I have ever had in South Bend other than Barnabys. Only had it twice, and the pizza and breadsticks are absolutely delicious! People there are really nice, they are quick and all around awesome with service.

Yelp
Lacopo is one of my top 3 pizza places in South Bend (Chivos and Barnabys are the other two). Great pizza, really inexpensive, especially for the largest sizes - their prices don't ramp up hugely between sizes. From 14 to 20 inches, it's $2 plus $1 per inch and $1 per topping. 14 inch cheese only? $16. 20 inch 4 topping? $26. (The 10 inch and calzone start at $9.50 and maxes at $11) They also have a really massive "party pizza" that's the size of their entire pizza oven. Still looking for an excuse to order that one :D Also try their cookies! I think they're always walnut chocolate chip. They're thick, but sort of airy, perfect for dipping in milk or coffee.

Yelp
Best sausage pizza. I love the finely crumbled sausage. And the owner is a Reds fan, so what could be better?

Yelp
Wife was coming home from Chicago after flying for the past 4 days. I told her I would get a pizza from Lacopo's. We had never had one and it was delicious! The crust was thin and crispy and the toppings were ample and well distributed. The ambience was awesome...old school cool. A+ on the service with a smile! My new favorite place!!

Yelp
Food is always delicious mom n pop but fresh ingredients been eaten here since 1989...try Italian sausage with peppers onions n sausage and that fresh grated cheese homemade gravy..I have to say this is authentic as you can get probably within a 800 mile radius and new york has great pizza but this joint is ridiculous..

Adrian T.

Yelp
Fire pizza! I ask them to make thin and they always accommodate, but it's not too thin. I don't know many places messing with Lacopo's for good pizza. Barnaby's (SB) is a staple no doubt. Volcano's in Elkhart, yep. Pizza Transit in Niles is good, but Lacopo's is a hidden gem. I never had a NY slice but I mean I really don't have to. Lacopo's never disappoints.

Yelp
Well my Husband and I try to spend our money where we live, tried this place a couple of times, I'm not impressed, the crust is really thick and Hard, barely any meat, sauce is good and if there was any cheese on it , it was very little, for the price think we'll stick with Luigi's in Mishawaka that totally gives you what you pay and Barnaby's that you can see the meat and cheese. I would not recommend.

Yelp
It was huge and wonderful. Some of the best pizza in the city. Barely even knew it was an open and thriving business since it's so small and divey, but I mean that in the best sense! They just make good pizza, no nonsense, no frills.

Yelp
Lacopo's is a little pizza place on Western right near the airport. They have some seriously friendly customer service, which I love. You won't find a menu anywhere online, but if you just call them, they are more than happy to help, and you can always grab a menu when you go in to eat/pick up a pizza. They do slices for $2.50 every weekday which I think is great. I ordered a 14" pizza with black olives and mushrooms and it was so delicious. Not greasy at all and the crust was perfect, not too thin and not too thick. I'm sure I will be back another time to get some by-the-slice pizza as well as order full pies from them! I'd rather support a mom and pop place than a chain. Definitely try Lacopo's if you haven't already! You won't be disappointed!

Yelp
Delicious. We found this true mom and pop shop online and it had limited, but good, reviews. Every good thing you have heard or read is true. Great sauce to cheese ratio, and it's all homemade. Cash only! Only one small table if you're planning on eating there.

Zach B.

Yelp
Excellent pizza! You can't beat their lunch special, $2.50 for a slice as big as your face, and no tax! Tons of cheese, great homemade crust, and a nice little kick to the sausage! A great family owned and operated place!

Yelp
Best Pizza in South Bend Returned to South Bend after more than a decade and was thrilled to find Lacapo's still there. South Bend, for whatever reason isn't a town with much good pizza. Perhaps its some anti-Chicago thing. We had given up back in the 90's when we found this small place. Nothing but an oven and a counter. Run by a family - then young, now High School pictures on the wall. Really good pizza. Quality crust -- high gluten, crispy on the outside w/ a touch of char, soft on the inside. Sauce is flavorful, nice tang no overpowering spices and not sweet. Cheese is finished to the perfect touch of brown, but not overdone. They just do it right, which is a rare and beautiful thing. Ardmoore is a small road right off of Lincoln, out on the West Side by the airport. It's really pretty much on Lincoln.

Yelp
It is my favorite pizza in indiana. To me a pizza is only as good as the crust and this crust has it all. Crunch, chew, thick enough to hold the toppings bit not to thick. I love the crust/cheese/toppings ratio. The sausage is their own blend and it is a bit spicy but I love it. You gotta try it!!!

Yelp
One of the best pizzerias in the Bend, always delicious. Crust is perfect, toppings are fresh and distinguishable from other pizza restaurants, sauce has the perfect amount of zestiness. The family is always very nice and inviting. The only down thing that I can think of is that it is cash only, but well worth that slight inconvenience.

Philip D.

Yelp
Seriously good pizza pie! Kinda in a hard to get to place. You can drive right by if you dont know where it is. But don't, this is a place you don't want to miss.

Yelp
We hit this on the way to the airport and we're glad we did. We came for a slice and got a few more and meat balls and they didn't disappoint. The neighborhood is a little sketchy but the pizza is worth it.

Yelp
One of the best pizzas I've had! The crust is amazing, perfect thickness, texture, and crunch. Perfect amount of cheese and delicious toppings. It is a very small locally owned business, with great, quick, and friendly service. Love it!!!!!

Yelp
One of the best in South Bend. The Pizza is great, and the Meatball subs are outstanding.

Yelp
What a hidden gem! I was pleasantly surprised by how great this pizza is! It's very large too! The sausage they use is fantastic. Overall, the food seems very fresh and authentic. I'll be going back for sure.

Yelp
This amazing Westside pizza place is the last standing local pizza joint and the pie is excellent. South Bend has the best pizza in the USA. I encourage you to order a pie from my guy and you will be satisfied beyond measure. This place is a diamond in the rough waiting to be found by you!

Paul W.

Yelp
Best Pizza in South Bend, and we have a lo of great pizza joints in SB. Lacopos is number 1 !
google avatar

Nick K.

Yelp
What a hidden gem!! Why is south bend keeping this place a secret? They do not advertise so they rely on word of mouth. So please give this place a try. The pizza is fantastic. Great sauce, awesome chew to the crust. More on the thin side but this is not a negative. Good quality ingredients and excellent mozzarella. Really enjoy the crumbly style sausage. No menu online, you have to call. They are very old school and have an older fan base hence their lack of yelp reviews. Dont let this detour you, they are a must especially for anyone that likes actual pizza not pizza hut or papa johns junk!!!

Yelp
Wow, who knew? A terrific pizza place. One of the best I've had in South Bend. Highly recommended. Small place with a big heart.

Yelp
We get a carryout from Lacopo's at least once a week. The pizza is fantastic ! Great crust, fresh ingredients. On Saturday the feature of home made lasagna is also very good. Sandwiches are tasty. Everything we have ever ordered has been very good. Highly recommend !
