LACQUER Downtown

Blanca has been doing my gel nails the past several months, and she is fantastic! I followed her to the downtown location after the north one closed. She is gentle and meticulous. My nails always look amazing! High recommend her! Love this salon since it doesn’t have the toxic smell, and they use safer products (ie: LED light to cure nails instead of UV light).

Found this place near the hotel I was staying at for a conference and loved it. Really liked the clean spacious modern set up and complimentary drink. Made the appointment online and at first it was a little challenging but ended up making my visit easier. Savanah did my gel manicure and she was excellent. Came back the next day with a friend and she got a mani pedi and I got a pedicure with Faith. The girls are super nice and professional. Again, excellent experience and wish they were in South Florida.

Claudia was amazing! Not only did she do an excellent job on my Dazzle Dry manicure, but she was very knowledgeable and gave me a lesson on nail care! I was visiting from out of town, otherwise I would come back. 100% recommend!

I have been coming to see Faith for about a year now and she is great! Has an eye for which color would look best on me, especially when I have a hard time on deciding which color to pick. She is careful, thorough, and thoughtful. I appreciate her work. Conversations are the best too. Highly recommend to see her for your 💅 ✨!

The waterless methodology is different but not bad. However, massage time was barely anything, literally this is just an elongated mani or pedi service with less perks and definitely takes longer than "traditional" methods. Didn't realize refreshments were given until someone else asked and I was nearly done with my experience. Hot stones or wax would have been nice, but maybe that's anti hygienic? Nail tech was great but overall is not a place for me. Thanks for the service, but outside of the cuticle cleaning & nail painting, the experience was just too lacking in general.

I love this place. Waterless pedicures aren’t as fun as water ones BUT they’re crucial for hygiene and preventing nail and foot infections. The ladies here know what they’re doing and are very knowledgeable about nails. They told me never to get a gel polish because of the way my nails are, which I admire as the gel is more expensive. They offer drinks and validated parking. I recommend the dazzle dry polish. It lasts for a month on my toes and it is quick dry so I can go on with my life after the appointment. It’s pricey-er than a normal salon but I think it’s worth it. My nails have never looked better.

Mell at Lacquer Downtown is the absolute best - my nails are always gorgeous! She cares about the health of my nails, which is important to me and is a quality that is very hard to find. Their products and practices are overall better for you.

I love Lacquer! My nail tech was super sweet and the vibe in there is great ( they have a great playlist)! I got a gel pedicure and a Gel-X manicure and both lasted me over a month which normally my nails last only 2 weeks. I would definitely recommend if you're looking for a high end quality salon.

I hate writing a negative review, but this was the worst, most expensive manicure of my entire life which is saying a lot consider I've been getting manicures for 30 years. After more than an hour I left with poorly filed, bumpy unevenly polished nails. Oddly they don't do gel or at least my girl didn't. So just polish. No cuticle work. No scrub. No hand massage, although I did leave with two small plastic containers one with some scrub and one with lotion and was told I could do that at home. LOL Up to the register I went and they tried to charge me $99. For a manicure with nail polish. Whoa. After a complaint they knocked it down to $70 or something close to that. I paid it and chalked it up to "it happens." Unfortunate because I can walk to this location from my condo. But I don't plan to ever go back. I'm guessing they cater mostly to people visiting or the convention crowd. This was a one and done experience for me.

$80 for a basic, waterless, gel pedicure is insane!! I didn't get wax or exfoliating scrub or anything and the 5 min "massage" was actually a 2 min (max) Application of lotion. My fiend got the same service as me, only regular polish and was charged $60. They up charge $20 for gel polish!?!? That's insane!! The ladies who did our pedicures were lovely. I hope they find better jobs somewhere else.

Lacquer Downtown is my go to nail salon in ATX. Logan is a dream nail tech. Logan is patient, detailed, consistent, professional, and kind. With high quality products and the correct nail shape, Logan has helped me grow my natural nails so much longer than I ever could've imagined. Logan can also fix a broken/chipped nail like a magician! Lots of fun colors to choose from and validated free parking is available in the attached garage. Gorgeous, clean space, and great service. They greet you and have your space ready as soon as you walk in. The little details matter and I am so appreciative of 3+ years of service with Logan, Erica, Talisha and Janel! 10/10!

It's $65 for gel manicure which I think that too high and without serving drink or anything special.

I come in every few weeks for a pedicure. Dustin is amazing and meets my perfectionist expectations. I'm really picky about my nails but they do a great job every time. Ask for Dustin if you want a bomb pedi! There are two AMLI garages within a few blocks of one another so just make sure you go to the right one which is off San Jacinto and connects right to Lacquer. It's kind of expensive hence me giving 4 stars but it's worth it to me to not have to deal with the regular nail salon gamut.

I really enjoyed getting my nails done here! Shayna did a wonderful job and was very personable. She was great to talk to about Austin and gave me tips on how to keep my nails healthy in the future if I'm doing my own manicures. The polish application looks fantastic!

Generously giving two stars because I didn't get to have any nail service so this is entirely based on professionalism and customer service. It looked like a perfectly nice clean space based on the 5 minutes I spent there. My experience was this: I booked a few days in advance for an appointment on Friday. I received several confirmations (they have a very thorough system including sending a calendar invite). I was coming into Austin for SXSW and had a big fashion industry event I planned to wear open toed shoes for, so I needed a pedicure. I arrived Friday afternoon after flying into Austin and the front desk worker was like, yikes I tried to call you but your tech is out sick. I explained I was on a plane. They didn't have anyone else available so my appointment was cancelled. They offered me a time later in the weekend but I explained that wasn't an option, which is why I had made an appointment. I told them I didn't feel they had made a very significant effort to reach me, especially considering that they had insisted on having a card on file in case *I* was a no show, and that they had reached out to me through several means including phone, email, and a calendar invite to book the appointment. Here are some ideas for how they could have handled this better: -reached out thoroughly to give me this information. Text me! Email me! Call more than one time! -tried to make me another appointment elsewhere since this is one of the busiest weekends in Austin and they would know that places are booked -cancelled the literal calendar invitation that they sent -sent me the $$ they would have charged me had I been the no show (I'm not sure what that is, I believe 50% of the service) My takeaway is that this place charged a very premium price but doesn't have the staffing or service level to back it up.

The manicurists at Laquer always do a nice job on my nails and the environment is serene and relaxing. I also like that I can book online. I took off a star because their manicures and pedicures are so expensive - the most I've ever paid for nails other than at a resort. Maybe their high cost is why the salon is often empty or almost empty when I go. That's so different from the typical lower-cost, high volume salons where you get a better value but have to endure loud noise and wall-to-wall people. Parking can be challenging - or expensive - downtown. I live very close by so I can walk, but be aware about parking and ask where to park and if they'll validate your parking

I was so lucky to find this salon when in from out of town. They took me quickly, were super nice and gave me a great manicure. Aside from the quality of my manicure, the atmosphere is great! Loved it! Wish we had this Salon in New York!

Booked a mani/pedi for when I arrived in town for a conference. The salon is soakless...meaning they don't use water for your pedicure (or manicure) instead they use cool/warm towels. Audrey did my nails and toes and she did an amazing job! I wish I could take her back to Orlando!! I chose to get gel on my nails and regular polish on my toes. I am happy with the results but I don't feel it was worth $95. I can get the same services in Orlando for just a bit cheaper. But I am happy to have tried something new!

Come to this place if you want to get sick. I had to move seats 3 different times to not get coughed or sneezed on by the nail techs. I heard one of the employees coughing in the back uncontrollably and spitting. Absolutely disgusted. Why does this salon let their employees work on clients when they are actively sick. Never again. I hope I'm not sick for my holiday family plans!

I would give them a zero if this was possible. I just removed my nail polish from my first (and will be my last) pedicure at this place. AND I have nail fungus on my big toe. It wasn't that way when I went there--and in fact I went there without any polish on my toenails for months before so this place is the only place this could have happened.

I will admit, I was a little leery about giving up the soak part of my pedicure. I took a chance based on the amazing reviews I have seen and it was worth it! The nail techs are so skilled at making you feel relaxed and performing every essential pedicure step to perfection without soaking. Yay sustainability!! The hot towels are everything I could hope for. My feet haven't felt or looked this good since I moved to town in December. My new go-to for pedicures!

I'm really disappointed in our service today. I researched and booked a group appointment weeks in advance for my best friend's wedding happening in two days. We were phoned this morning (morning of appointment) that one of the nail tech's is out sick, and they're unable to do one of the pedicure's for our bridal party. Totally understandable, it's stressful when staff is out sick, but I let them know we would have to go somewhere else since this is for a wedding and we all need pedicures. They confirmed they could in fact make it happen, but when we showed up TEN minutes late due to parking (we had given a heads up this was the case and were told 'no problem!') they said they could no longer do one of the pedicures and changed the bride's and my pedicure to basic (no massage, no callous removal). This was said unapologetically, while the owner just sat there in silence. No one offered us beverages, available techs hung around when they could've squeezed in the extra pedicure. I really hoped for such a special event we would've had better service. Our nails look nice, but for $300 we're now wishing we would have gone elsewhere and would have been treated more fairly and hospitably.

Yikes. What a sad, expensive experience. Don't get me wrong - I've shelled out some dolla dolla bills at other downtown salons for massage services, manicures, pedicures and fell for the guise of spending more for that free glass of Costco sparking wine and darling décor, but this certainly was the utmost disappointment. Made an appointment. Got seen right away, which was nice. My nail tech was quiet. Nice, but quiet. I had a fine time chatting with her, but I got a bad feeling the moment my bare, non-manicured hands started getting scraped and hacked, without even a quick soak. My cuticles needed some TLC and my length needed some trimming. My $45 manicure included neither of those services. So now, all I have is a week-old looking gel service immediately after receiving the treatment. My nails already look like there's regrowth and ingrown nails are haloing several of my nails. K,bye.

Great place to plan ahead for your self care mani and pedi needs. Be prepared to experience specialty dry mani and pedi. Nail specialist take great care to pamper each client according to their special requests. Another positive the location does not have the strong potentially harmful nail chemical scent that you would normally receive at other nail salons. They do go the extra mile to insure the location is clean. I do recall seeing a client literally become so relaxed she dozed off. Speaks highly of their location. Definitely a place to check out if your looking to change things up. Or simply plan a wonderful day of pampering with your besties. No walk-ins. Must schedule ahead of time to book. Which is understandable to insure they can plan ahead to provide the continued excellent nail specialty 1:1 for each client and have the appropriate amount of nail specialist on hand. Worst experience and most unprofessional place I've ever been! I called to make an appointment. Let them know exactly what I needed done. I'm only in town for a business meeting. They sat me in the chair, start doing my nails, apparently time runs out and they say too bad so sad we can't finish it. And the front desk girl proceeds to blame it on me when I tell her how unprofessional that was! OK!?! I was already hesitant to go due to bad reviews but it was the only place available!

I found Lacquer on Yelp (of course) :) I was staying at JW Marriott for SXSW. My nails were really beat up and I had been on the road for weeks and needed some serious self care and attention. I called Lacquer the Sunday I came in. They were completely booked that day and I asked if they could schedule me on Tuesday afternoon. We went back-and-forth a few times with times that might work out for the both of us and we decided for 3:45 pm on Tuesday. Unlike most nail salons, you have to give all of your information including your credit card to them upon making the appointment. If you cancel within 24 hours of your appointment they will charge you 50% of the cost. Anything later than that and they will charge you full price. The great thing about it is that, when you check out of the salon - you don't have to fish for your credit card and risk ruining your nails because they already have your credit card on file. I was praying nothing would come up, work wise, to where I would need to cancel last minute so I would not be charged. Luckily, I got there right before my time and was greeted by the receptionist. She escorted me to the wall of colors. They had great selections and on the top row are designer colors such as Mark Jacobs, etc. The designer polishes were a five dollar additional charge. I ended up going with the vinyl brand that they recommended. It lasted me a week and a half and that never happens because I always do regular polish, not gel and it always chips before a week. I got the same brand on my toes but a different color. They have adorable sinks to soak your feet in. My manicurist's name was Gloria and my pedicurist's name was Rosa. Rosa was amazing. I asked her where I should go to eat that night and she recommended a bunch of different places. She also went in the back and grabbed me a bunch of Austin magazines that were for tourists and a lot of them highlighted dining experiences. My manicurist did not say much and I tried not to take it personally, you never know what's happening with someone's day. It was a little over $70 altogether including tip. It was an enjoyable experience, I needed the pampering and I even fell asleep for a little bit. No one ever asked me if I needed anything to drink and I was so thirsty for water. A lot of the nicer nail salons that I go to offer you champagne, wine, green tea, or water. Overall, if I was back in the Austin area I would probably go here again because my nails and toes did last a long time and looks great.

Service is a 5, the girl that did my nails was educated on nail health. But as for the nails themselves, it's only been 7 days and my nail polish is chipped ($50 gel manicure). I get a gel manicure once a month from various places and they always last 3 weeks and the service is usually $30. I'm really disappointed that they didn't last. It's not about the money but one would think if you are paying higher for quality then you would have a gel Manicure that would last longer than 6 days. I predominantly go to boutique nail salons that are ethically driven with knowledgeable women. I guess I just expected it to last for at least 2 weeks, especially since I don't work with my hands. Basically this would mean $200 a month for gel manicures? That's pretty steep for anyone just for a nail job. All the hype, not worth it

I really enjoyed my ultra mani/pedi with Janel. She did a great job and it was such a treat to get my nails done while on vacation. Currently staying at the Austin Proper and this is a short walk away. The salon is airy and spacious with only a few other guests at the time. I gave it 4 stars because it was a lovely experience, however it is one of the priciest mani/pedi's I've ever had

I went back and gave Lacquer a second chance and I am extremely happy!! My manicure lasted well past 2 weeks and the foil they used did not change color this time. The salon was so peaceful and quiet, and the lady at the front made sure I always had a glass of champagne next to me! My only suggestion would be that the techs could be just a tad bit friendlier, but I'll definitely go back again!

To be honest, it's pricey. But their work is thorough, the service is thoughtful, and the CND lasted much longer than CND has ever lasted for me and way longer than other gel brands. I also have elderly parents so I appreciate that they're appointment only, and everything is well spaced. I've been to both locations and had an excellent experience at both. I don't get manicures enough to complain about the price as to me, a great manicure is worth it.

Professional, quick, great work. The staff was nice, the salon beautiful, and the manicure was flawless. From first booking to the appointment timing, this was a very well run salon. My only complaint was the cost- I was surprised for a very basic gel mani with soak off and 20% tip it cost $66. 2 second lotion massage and no scrub or thrills. Still walked away with a perfect mani but for that price I'd expect a little more... for someone that does gel manis every two weeks, I'm hesitant to make this my go-to.

Beautiful salon! I'm from Houston and was visiting Austin with a group of friends. As I walked the streets of downtown, I noticed a sleek sign that read LACQUER. I was intrigued and called to see if they could squeeze me in.The receptionist was very friendly and tried her hardest to to make it work. I got an express manicure with Maria. She was personable, funny and amazing! It was a regular manicure, meaning no gel polish, but it still lasted about a week and a half. I'm convinced this was due to her attention to detail. I wish there was one in Houston! I'll be back again next time I'm in Austin.

My low star rating is based primarily on the cost to value ratio. It's nice to have freshly painted nails, but I honestly go for the experience, relaxation and pampering. Unfortunately, Lacquer misses the mark here. They are waterless and use hot towels in lieu of warm foot baths. Instead you sit on comfortable, but too high chairs and "rest" your feet on a foot rest that the technician sits on. It's not a natural position, so I had to sit in a tensed position the entire time - the opposite of relaxation. They did the mani pedi at the same time with the mani tech sitting on one side, so having to awkwardly cross arms to the other side of the chair- combine that with the tense legs and it couldn't have been more uncomfortable. All in all- $80+ for a 45 minute mani pedi was not worth it. Stick to traditional salons. The technicians were nice and had good attention to detail, so the end result is satisfactory. I came in with a gift certificate and after the session had $110 left- I opted to buy as many products as I could knowing I wouldn't return.

I came here for a pampering session for my friend's bachelorette party on a Thursday night. It was pouring rain and traffic was horrendous, but despite being late to our group appointment, the staff were more than accommodating. We were offered water and tea by the staff as soon as we settled in and filling out our questionnaires regarding our nail and massage preferences as well as any possible health concerns or issues. The decor is really simple and clean and I loved the quotes hung around the wall. The seating was super comfortable which made my pedicure really enjoyable. On top of that, the staff were all about cleanliness and gave each of us a fresh tub to soak our feet. This assured us that we were not soaking our feet in the same tub multiple other customers could have been using throughout the day. They also have a huge variety of nail polish brands and colors for you to choose from. At $40, yes... the pedicure was pricey, but for the cleanliness and professionalism you get with the service it is worth it. I would definitely recommend LACQUER Downtown if you are in Austin and looking to be pampered with a mani and/or pedi :)

Was in Austin just overnight for work and desperately needed a pedicure. This place caught my attention via Yelp because of the cute, simplistic decor and when I saw the prices I was a little skeptical but once I read WHY they're so expensive I was onboard. I will pay more for ethical business practices and businesses that support women. I had a essential pedicure done, they had a good variety of gel colors, and I loved the heating pads on the chairs and foot stool. However I will say I felt a little awkward and uncomfortable in the chairs with the way my feet were being placed but maybe I'm just out of shape and got a little core workout (; Carolyn gave me a great pedicure!! I wish I would have added a manicure, will definitely return if in the area again.

It was a nice vibe in there but I think it should be advertised that is a WATER FREE salon. My favorite part of a pedicure is soaking my feet which wasn't an option here. My toes chipped two days later. I didn't do anything out of the ordinary and there was no "trauma" that occurred, unless wearing flats to works counts....

I have a nail salon that I am pretty loyal to but since I was leaving town and didn't have time to make the drive over there that particular week, I made an appointment for a gel manicure and classic pedicure at Lacquer which is walking distance to my home. This would mark my second visit. I don't remember any problems with my first visit, but it wasn't memorable. My second was hardly that. It started off with me checking in and being asked to pick out my polish colors and fill out a form. Nearly immediately after walking to the nail colors, my nail tech came up and told me she was ready. I'd hardly had time to look at the colors so I just grabbed one I was okay on and took the form with me to fill out. While sitting for my pedicure, I filled out my form and set it to the side. Seconds later, another tech came and took my form and without looking at it, walked to the counter. Meaning that neither her, nor the person working on my feet had bothered looking at the form and my preferences. Obviously more of a formality for insurance purposes rather than customer service. The tech who took the form didn't introduce herself. She simply asked what color I had chosen and began working on my manicure. Even though I was a bit annoyed, I tried to relax but that was interrupted by the person working on my pedicure's need to sing and hum along to the music that was playing. It occurred to me then that I was also not offered anything to drink but I figured I couldn't use my hands at the present time anyway so I didn't bother asking for one. The tech working on my feet also kept moving my foot in an uncomfortable way. I told her that was really not comfortable and she said sorry but there's no other option. I get a manicure and pedicure every two weeks and never have I felt more uncomfortable than this experience. When it came to polishing, she used what I could only assume was a white base coat. I could tell it was not evenly applied as she was working on it. She then used my polish and finished with a top coat. She spent a lot of time cleaning up my toe nails after, but after leaving I still had polish on my skin that I had to remove myself. Also as I suspected, you could clearly tell where she had not spread the base coat evenly under the color polish because it changed the integrity of the color and since it wasn't polished evenly, it was dark pink in some areas and light pink in others. It also started chipping within two days of my visit. My fingers seemed to be polished better (it was gel, so it should have been) and typically lasts about two weeks for me. Unfortunately after just a few days I could see where water was going between the polish and my nail. The pictures below were how my nails looked after just a few days. Lastly, after I returned from my trip I went to my regular salon to have my nails redone (by then all of the gel had peeled off anyway) and my toes repolished. To my horror, my toe nails were stained! I have never had this happened and couldn't believe it. It was an OPI polish so I can only assume it was the weird base coat that caused this staining. Needless to say, I would not recommend this salon or their services.

* 4 / 5 stars Let me start off by saying that Laquer is your best bet in Downtown Austin. I made an appointment only 1 day in advance through their convenient and easy-to-use online system. Very impressive! Upon arrival, I was asked to fill out a questionnaire regarding my nail and massage preferences, as well as my general nail and skin health. I waited no more than 2 minutes before my nail technician (TuTu) greeted me, reviewed my card, and offered me water and a seat at his station. I noticed right away that this place is extremely hygienic. Nail techs are required to wear gloves, no files are reused, and all the tools have been properly sterilized. As someone who has heard a few horror stories, I truly appreciate Laquer's commitment to health and safety of the customer and workers. I could already tell that this place was all about QUALITY. Now I am extremely picky about my nails, but TuTu went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied. My nails were already well filed and cuticles were trimmed, so my review will focus on the polish job. Since I told him that Shellac doesn't bond as well to my nails, he used the PH bond 3 times to increase its efficacy. Then he used a trick by painting Grapefruit Sparkle as a base coat to really make my Romantique color pop! When the bottle was low and the polish was thick, TuTu opened a brand new bottle for me so that it would be fresh. I always judge the quality of the nail tech by how even and thin s/he can apply the gel, and once again TuTu delivered flawlessly. He touched up certain nails that he did not feel were 100% perfect, applying an extra half coat or cleaning up the cuticle line with polish remover as needed. TuTu finished with cuticle oil, lotion and a nice hand massage. So with how nice Laquer is + the amazing job TuTu did, why not 5 stars? Well, there definitely is room for improvement. (1) As many Yelpers have noted, Laquer is EXPENSIVE. Coming from Manhattan, I was used to paying $30 for a well-done gel manicure. The base price here is $45, which ended up being $54 with tip. (2) While I understand Laquer prefers CND Shellac, it would be great if they had a few other options like OPI or Gelish since everyone's nail bonds differently to different products. (3) They should really do a shoulder / back massage. Having your hands stretched out makes your shoulders and back tight, and so a short massage here is standard at most nail salons. I was definitely expecting it. Bottom line: Yes, Laquer is pricey and there is room for improvement, but the salon clearly tries to make that up with exceptional customer service and cleanliness. I will be back!

I had such a great experience at Lacquer! Highly recommend. I received a gel manicure by Marlena and she was fabulous. She added a foil accent and I loved the end result. I will definitely be back!

Waste of time and way too expensive. My pedicure messed up immediately after I left after sitting to dry for 30 minutes. Very rude and full of attitude staff. Don't waste your time and money when there are plenty of nail salons to choose from that give excellent customer service and quality treatments with a smile rather than a sour attitude.

Love my pedi at this place! I almost feel asleep during the massage it was so great. When you first walk in you are greater and given a survey as to what kind of service you like. Questions like "how important is the massage" and "check of your specific needs for service (i.e. Dry skin, relaxation, etc). This survey made me feel really cared for and excited about what is to come. We perused the many colors and I chose one that I haven't really seen in other shops - they have so many fun options! There is a couch and magazines to enjoy while you wait but we didn't need that because they were ready for us right away. I really enjoyed talking to my tech. I also noticed that all the techs help each other out. One would grab towels for the other and someone would swing by and clean up. Great team work. All that to say, this is a great place for a girls day out!

Made a last minute appointment and was then texted nonstop by the staff to change my appointment time while I was at work. I picked the time on their website. They then told me the time was fine and asked what I would be getting done. They told me they couldn't accommodate me (gel removal & gel manicure). But instead of refunding me - they charged me HALF OF THE SERVICE PRICE since I was not within their four hour cancellation window (I had scheduled the appt 15 mins before this mess). I do NOT recommend this place and I have reported it as fraud with my credit card company.

Salon was clean, air conditioned and relaxing! I was traveling for work and by day 2 my nails were trashed. Close to downtown hotels. So glad I made an appointment!

I'm in town visiting for the weekend and booked a day in advance. The receptionist was very accommodating and flexible considering the tight schedule. Yun was quick and efficient. I was in and out in an hour which is mind blowing to me considering the quality of her work. She's precise and the tools she used were clean. I can't wait to visit the area again and schedule some art in the future!

My awesome maid of honor booked our bridal party to get our nails and pedis done here. The salon was super fancy and loved the elegant, chic feel. My nail artist was, Elaine, and she was super awesome and made me feel at home. She was also an amazing artist and was able to create a lace design to match my wedding motif. The staff was super friendly that my bridesmaids and I felt like we were at a friend's house just chillin doing our nails together while jamming out to 90s pop. Speaking of which, we loved loved loved the music they were playing. The old school hip hop and 90s boybands/ pop had us jamming out and connecting us to one another. Wish I could rate 0 stars. My friends and I booked essential pedicures for a birthday, heard really good things about this place so had pretty high expectations. Walked in 10 min after our appointment time (didn't think it would be a big deal?) and they "greeted" us with letting us know our services would be downgraded to only a touch up, no questions asked. Pretty ridiculously awful customer service and not worth any hype. Go somewhere else if you want your money's worth.

Like others, I want to love Lacquer. It's clean, they've gone to waterless pedis, the pedis are great. But the parking is miserable, and my manicures are inconsistent. I don't know why some techs have an issue with a rounded square shape. I just think you can get a better mani pedi for your money elsewhere without the downtown parking hassle. I do hope their technicians are paid well, since the cost is higher.

I had a great first experience here! The staff was friendly, my appointment was met on time, and I LOVE the overall finished look of my nails. The place was clean and so chic looking too; I adore all the white space and sleek decor. During my pedicure, they offered me hot tea and/or wine which was definitely appreciated! It made the whole experience even more relaxing. Usually pedicures can be uncomfortable & painful for me (I've actually bled from previous pedis before, no joke), but everything went smoothly at Lacquer. They really know what they're doing. I'd recommend Jessica for pedis, she was so sweet! I got the Shellac in "Field Fox" done on my nails with a little floral design on my ring fingers and a matte finish - I'm obsessed. Ask for Elaine for any nail art you want done, the girl has got serious talent! This place is overall awesome. I will definitely be back! :)

This was my first visit to a salon that uses the hot towel technique and avoids traditional soaking tubs for pedicures. This method is better for the environment and my skin! I am a true convert. My sisters and I especially loved chatting with our beauticians and felt welcomed and not rushed. My sister told her stylist, "this is sort of my bachelorette weekend." I was like "girrrrrllll, I flew to Texas for you! This better be your actual for real bachelorette weekend!" Truth be told, I wish I lived in Austin so I could go more frequently.

Found this amazing nail salon on Yelp and based on the reviews I decided to give them a try. This place is a short walk from the W hotel which is where I am staying. I booked an appointment for a classic spa pedicure. When I walked in the first thing I noticed was the cleanliness and beauty of the space. I was highly impressed with the large selection of colors they have to choose from with high end brands like Dior and Chanel. My technician was absolutely amazing. She was warm, personable and attentive. She gave me the best foot massage! She also added a complementary hot towel wrap which was such a nice touch since I am almost 7 months pregnant. My toes look incredible and I feel relaxed and rejuvenated. I am visiting from Los Angeles and only packed closed toed shoes, but they sell Havaiana flip flops which were perfect. I will definitely be back the next time I visit Austin!

To add insult to injury, and prove that this polish doesn't last..one of my toes just came completely off after barely a week! This is supposed to have the staying power of normal gel! Also this is winter so it's not like I'm at the lake, pool or beach where toes could get roughed up. Contacted the salon to see if they could fix it, but have not heard back. Really disappointed.

Great for tourists but not lunch breaks - when scheduling my appointment, I noted that their website stated my manicure (and gel removal) would take 45 minutes, I scheduled a 12:15 so that I could be out by 1. I arrived at 12:10 and waited until 12:25 - more than 20% of my appointment time gone - to ask if they were running late. The receptionist looked totally surprised that I would ask a question and said that she was sure my nail tech would be with me soon. So I waited in the lovely waiting area, looking at their fun products, and tried not to feel anxious. It was almost 12:30 by the time we started and she finished removing the gel and cleaning up my nails at exactly 1 -- no time for polish. (Which I predicted and told her that I'd skip polish since we were starting so late and I really needed to leave at 1.) Annoyingly, I was still charged the full $35 for the late polish-less manicure. I wouldn't recommend Lacquer to anyone who needed to adhere to a schedule - notably, the woman the next table over also had a late nail tech. The employees were all very nice, so I tipped 20%, but I won't be back.
