The service here could be more informative and welcoming. When purchasing a high quality product like macarons (especially at a premium price) you don’t want to feel as if you’re buying an ordinary, run-of-the-day item. Luxury food brands and bakeries often balance the higher cost with cheerful, engaging staff who elevate the experience, and that expectation wasn’t met here.
Additionally, during operating hours, the employee was seated and using their phone. While everyone deserves a break, returning to work should be done with professionalism, not with the demeanor of a disinterested store clerk. This diminishes the brand image, and the quality the product represents.
On the positive side, the store itself is very clean and well organized, which makes the disconnect in service stand out even more. Overall, it feels like a crossroads here. You either embrace the prestige of a well-known brand, and deliver a fitting customer experience, or customers may look elsewhere for a more refined establishment.
