We loved our stay here at the INN very conveniently located next to the Lafayette campus. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was spacious and nicely decorated in era appropriate furniture. The snacks, drinks, and piano in the parlor really enhanced our stay.

We had a pleasant one-night stay at this Inn. We stayed here a couple years ago, and yes, things have changed somewhat since Lafayette College took over the Inn. Primarily, the made to order hot breakfast has been replaced by a cold breakfast buffet. The Inn is staffed only until 7 PM, and arrangements should be made for later check-ins. However, in other respects the Inn is pretty much the same - still a handsome old building in a nice location in Easton. I was actually quite pleased with the breakfast - lovely fresh fruit salad and really good quality yogurt (I am quite fussy about yogurt and most inns offer nasty "light" yogurts.) I didn't sample much else as we were meeting friends at Three Birds Coffee in Easton (highly recommend!), but I'm actually pretty happy with a self-service breakfast which is sometimes more convenient than something more formal. The breakfast room is especially lovely. We were in the middle of a bad hot spell and the air conditioning in the room worked great and was fully adjustable. There were delicious cookies on offer in the parlor in the evening. Our room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Onsite parking is convenient. Would happily stay here again.

Their cancellation fee is outrageous - cost of one nights stay PLUS state and city tax. We had to cancel 4 days before our expected arrival due to an unexpected development (the family member we were visiting in Easton was supposed to be discharged from the hospital prior to our visit but was retained in the ICU so our visit had to be postponed). We explained the situation to the Lafayette Inn but they held fast to their published cancellation policy. That is their right of course, but I thought it was exceptionally greedy given that they were fully booked for the time period we would have been staying there, so they obviously re-booked our room and lost nothing due to our cancellation. We came to Easton a few days later to visit our sick family member and ended up staying elsewhere.

Things have changed since the college bought the Inn. 24/7 snacks and drinks are non existent at night. Beds are like sleeping on a rock - we were told all mattresses were changed - must have bought the cheapest available. Shower heads have an oxygenator on it to save water, so the stream of water is very poor. No hot breakfast anymore. We went down the street to the college hill cafe and had a great hot breakfast instead even though breakfast is included in the price. The TV remote wouldn't work and they couldn't find batteries or a different remote so we could change the channel. The room was either freezing cold or boiling hot - could not get the room heater/ ac to work properly. the only pro is that it is within walking distance of Lafayette college and they have parking. Otherwise stay at a different hotel.

We had a great stay here while visiting Lafayette College. Our room was large, comfortable, very clean, and cute—much better than a hotel room. The hosts were lovely and fun to talk to. Breakfast was delicious, with many freshly made options to choose from, and served in an adorable, bright space filled with beautiful windows. All the common areas were inviting and comfortable. The walk to campus took about five minutes. Easton itself is a very cool little city to check out, with lots to do. We hope to return again sometime.

Everything you dream about when someone says "bed and breakfast". Well kept rooms, quiet, and friendly staff knowledgeable about the local area. Great breakfast selection and excellent coffee. Easy walking distance to Lafayette College, walkable distance to downtown.

If I were primarily interested in good food at a B&B this would be the place to visit, however if comfort, quiet and an elegant stay are your main requirements better to stay at home. Especially if your home has a large fireplaced Master bedroom with a large marble master bath and jacuzzi! I was shocked to find a phone booth sized bathroom BEHIND the room door of this corner unit. Only one shade (not room darkening) on one of tbe 3 windows. Windows had standard run of the mill rubber lined drapes that refused to close together to block some light. Thankfully I had safety pins to do the job. The bed was dreadful, every time you or your spouse moved in or out of the bed, it creaked! There was NO comforter, down or down alternative supplied even though upon booking I asked and was told they had tbem. I was freezing all night long. The Mitsbishi heat and A/C unit was confusing at best. I am supposed to know which teeny tiny icon stands for heat and which one represents cooling!#@! Since we arrived just after 10, there was no one to ask for help and I was not going to call a number listed as an after hours emergency number to ask about a comforter and heat! I finally fell asleep somewhere after 3 AM having used my coat as a blanket (I saw extra pillows in tbe armoire but did not see a blanket which mgmt he next day assured me had been there) when somewhere around d 5 or 6 AM I was awakened by a very LOUD sound of what seemed like a river rushing through our room, although the sound was more likely coming from the room above us! I faced a long day ahead of me with about 3 hours of sleep. Breakfast was, a very pleasant surprise to me. I so enjoyed the lovely Belgium Waffles, berries and the same apple cake that had been left in tbe common room the night prior. (I dont mean to imply here it was tbe exact same cake served again but rather the same recipe used) There were offerings of English Muffins, Bagels, Toast cold cereal, steel cut warm oatmeal, Quiche and potatoes. Coffee and Tea along with juices were a welcomed morning treat, esp after so little sleep the night before! I met the Inn owners, he was very pleasant, while she who had heard my complaint about tbe lack of a b and b typical comforter was nonplussed and frankly seemed disinterested in my comments, never saying a word to me about what I felt was totally inadequate bedding. If I had had a client say those things to me I would have made it my business to seek tbem out after tbeir breakfast, thank them for their sincere comments and tell them I would take what tbey had said under advisement and would hope that they would give us another try to earn our respect and continued patronage. Nope, nada, nothing from her lips to my ears. What a distinct disappointment....although the cookies, apple cake, hot chocolate, tea, coffee, ice and soft drinks were very much appreciated in tbe common room. Alas not enough for a return visit w/o the owner's apology and explanation. ..and new beds and bedding! If you were soooo sorry about my stay in your Inn WHY didn’t you take the time to call or write me about my legitimate concerns??? And you were incredibly and incredulously uninterested in my comments the day of our departure! Smug is a word that comes to mind. I am a world traveller and former Pan Am Purser and Recruiter who holds degrees in Education, Culinary Arts and a Master in Business Administration. I choose to stay in 4-5 star properties only…. This is not one of those! Have you bought new mattresses yet, 5 years later???

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Cozy, comfortable room on 3rd floor with lots of privacy. Bathroom was large for the space. Breakfast each morning was very well prepared and of superior quality. The value is excellent. I imagine this would be a great place to stay for Lafayette parents or visiting high school students. The campus is right within walking distance. The nearby center of town (Easton) is quite inviting and evokes a lot of Americana charm in its brick & mortar, reclaimed industrial era footprint. From the moment you walk into it, you will notice the Inn retains this atmosphere in its own quiet way.

Yelp
Lovely bed and breakfast, close to Lafayette college. They have a Tesla charger in parking lot, a nice surprise. The breakfast very good. Host very friendly.

Yelp
We're a family of three - two adults and a three year-old -- and decided to visit Easton for the Crayola Experience as part of a weeklong family vacation. We love staying at a B&B rather than a chain hotel when we can. We took advantage of the Crayola Experience package, which is offered for either of the two-room suites that accommodate up to four guests. The main room has a King. The second room (more or less a sitting area on the way to the bathroom) has a twin with a trundle that can accommodate two kids. The package can be booked for a single night and includes admission tickets for up to four people, a Crayola gift pack for each kid, and a tray of snacks. Ours included some fabulous homemade peanut butter cookies! We booked two nights (the additional night was less than the first with the package). As a family of three we basically broke even on the additional package price vs. buying our own tickets, gift, and snacks. But this is vacation and to have that all taken care of plus the fun surprise for our daughter waiting in the room made it more than worth it. Lafayette has a comfortable, family feel. The wrap-around porch was a great place to sit (and run if you're a toddler) and everyone made my daughter feel welcome. By the second day she was calling it "our new house." The breakfast menu for the next day was posted in foyer each night. We had made-to-order omelets with choice of bacon or sausage each morning with different fresh fruit and homemade baked goods each day. Yogurt, cereal, and a variety of breads were also available. There were to-go cups for coffee along with mugs. Pastries plus coffee, tea, hot chocolate, whole fruit, and sodas were available all the time in the parlor. Having a DVD player in the room allowed us to have a family movie night. We brought our own, but the front desk also had lots to borrow. Only wish we had had some popcorn!

Yelp
Beautiful old mansion with an interesting history. Service was top notch and the room was perfect for my family - there was a separate bedroom for My daughter, which had a balcony. Clean, excellent breakfast on a beautiful enclosed porch. Would definitely recommend!

Yelp
We stayed here for 3 nights over the Thanksgiving holiday with our puppy and had the best stay. Our room had dog treats, baggies and dog bowls in the room which was awesome. I cannot express how nice the staff is here. They also have by far the best b&b breakfast we have ever had. It is made to order and they have amazing fresh sides in addition to all of the usual breakfast items you would expect. They always offer coffee, hot chocolate, cake and sodas 24/7 in the sitting area which is pretty cool. We have decided this is now the only place we will stay while up north visiting our family. The owners sent us a personalized 'thank you for staying' email which I thought was a nice touch. Great place, lots of history and the food and staff are awesome!

Yelp
We attended a wedding and reception in the area and needed a place to stay. We never stay in B&Bs but based on the location and reviews we decided to give the Lafayette a try. Since we would only be there for a night and only just to sleep, we reserved one of the small rooms, room #3. It was plenty big enough as long as you don't plan on hanging around in there. The TV was small but we weren't there to watch TV or hang around. The room was very quiet, clean and comfortable. The whole Inn was very clean!! This room had a good size desk built into the wall and it had a big walk-in closet. The bathroom was OK but there isn't enough counter space to lay your stuff around the sink. All the staff were very friendly and nice and made you feel welcomed. We loved the little breakfast room and having breakfast in there. Everything was so fresh and good. We loved this place and think it's a nice place for a little getaway in the future. We'll be back soon and stay longer except next time we'll get a bigger room with more counter space. Thank you for a great stay.

Yelp
My wife and I stayed here for two nights after our wedding in Easton. We chose Easton due to it being in the middle of our respective families, and we wanted to stay somewhere other than a chain hotel. I picked up the key in the morning before the wedding, because we were definitely NOT going to make the 10:00pm check in deadline :-). Upon arrival around midnight, we easily accessed the building with the security code provided, and made our way to room 25 on the second floor. We were greeted with a spacious, quaint room with a large bed, desk, and lounge chair. My mother-in-law arranged for a "romance basket" to be waiting, and a basket with cheese and crackers, chocolates, berries, and champagne was there. The next morning, we were greeted with a delicious home cooked breakfast in the breakfast room, which set a romantic ambiance with tables for two and classical music faintly heard in the background. Staff was extremely friendly and caring, and asked about how our wedding was. If you are looking for non-chain lodging in Easton, I highly recommend the Lafayette Inn. Even if you're not, still give them a try. Thanks for helping make our dream weekend perfect.

Yelp
Total misunderstanding, and they didn't offer any support caring only about the funds they got. I never received confirmation of my booking and had little help from staff in trying to find it. They were decidedly convinced their system had sent it out. I made reservations at another hotel believing that I did not have a room, and was not confirmed for a stay. I can assure I would not have done this had I known I had a place at the Lafayette Inn. My family is a frequent member of this inn (I believe the club is called the Golden Quill, or something similar) and still, we were given no leeway. Suffice it to say I will not be using this inn anymore when I stay there. The rooms are overpriced and smaller than are conveyed as per descriptions. The staff is not helpful, albeit traditional, conservative, and cordial (careful not to use the word friendly). I recommend the Grand Eastonian down on South 3rd St (I believe). They offer much nicer rooms, a more modern experience, and friendlier staff and greater amenities for a lower price.

Yelp
The Lafayette Inn is beautifully decorated and very welcoming when you step in. I surprised my boyfriend for his birthday, bringing him to the Inn and then to the State Theatre (2 minute drive into downtown) for the Stand-up Comedian, Lewis Black. When one of the owners (the wife) checked us in, she pulled me to the side and offered to do anything extra (chocolates etc...) for my bf's birthday surprise. She was very kind and accomidating! Fresh baked blueberry scones and dark chocolate pecan cookies in the sitting room (all day long and included with your stay) and a nice coffee, soda and tea selection. We stayed over a Saturday evening and the owners put out wine and cheese around 4pm. After our show, we came back to our suite (Room 2), where we had a private entrance, King bed, little fireplace, and MASSIVE whirlpool tub. Positives: *******Wonderful fresh baked goods and a fabulous breakfast. Made to order Belgium Waffles, fresh strawberries, sausages, corn quiche, cereals, etc... coffee, tea, juices, milks. Very homey. Very relaxing. The Husband, of the husband-wife owners, made our waffles! ****Big, comfy room *****Most comfortable, silky, squishy sheets I've ever felt. I kicked myself after we left for not buying a set!!!!! *****Friendly staff Negatives: *** You Hear Everything : It is an old house and our suite was on the lowest floor. Around 1am, some Lafayette Students (staying with their parents) came lumbering into the room above ours and made quite a bit of noise. Dan and I were still up, so we didn't mind too much, but had we been interested in sleeping - it would not have been an option. ***The whirlpool tub in our room was VERY VERY loud to fill and VERY VERY loud to run the jets. If you're using it midday, go for it, but it gave us pause when we wanted to use it at 10:30... I did not want to wake the whole house just to utilize the tub!

Yelp
My fiance and I stayed here for 2 nights for my girlfriend's wedding. We were both a little worried on the drive to the Inn, because some parts of Easton that we drove through looked pretty sketchy, but when we got there we were pleasantly surprised. The building has been kept up beautifully and the area immediately around it was charming and seemed safe. Our room was a little smaller than I thought it was going to be and up 3 flights of stairs, but it was nice--complete with a skylight and a window seat. I won't fault them for not having an elevator because even if they had one, I can't say I would have used it. I thought the A/C unit in the room was a little difficult to work (and I'm a pretty tech-savvy person) but the weather was so gorgeous, we had the window and skylight opened for our entire visit anyway. The WiFi was a bit finicky when we first set it up and it wasn't anywhere near the speed of our FiOS at home, but it did work. The bed was extremely comfy, the water was hot and the pressure was good! There was a TV in our room, but the screen was really small. We got a good laugh out of the fact that it had a built-in VCR. The food was very delicious and the staff were friendly and inviting. We even met Lana, the "mascot" husky dog.

Yelp
On a recent visit to this establishment to check accommodations out for a reception my party was treated very poorly. The bar staff was the rudest person we have ever encountered. Upon talking to other people after this we were advised that the Monday bartender is the reason many people-do not go there on mondays. We will never go there again and will tell everyone that we know not to patronize this establishment.

Yelp
I would have given The Lafayette Inn five stars if they had an elevator. This is a quaint full-service bed and breakfast with classy amenities in a safe historic neighborhood. Although it was a steep climb up to the room that I had booked on the third floor, the effort was worth it because the room had a skylight and a wonderful window seat with a nice view. The staff was very pleasant and welcoming and both the breakfast and the view from the dining area were outstanding.

Stephanie J.

Yelp
This place is so cozy! You really feel nestled in the trees and so comfy! The staff is extremely nice - they called a restaurant for us to make a reservation and went out of their way to make us feel at home. The bed is VERY comfortable. Amazing decor and atmosphere. I highly recommend!

Yelp
We stayed here last night on a college tour road trip. The folks could not have been nicer, and the accommodations were absolutely lovely. Beautifully furnished room, gourmet breakfast, and super mattress. My husband and son couldn't make it to breakfast so they made them up a tray. We stayed here because it was listed as dog friendly (for certain rooms) and they had bowls, biscuits, and poop bags waiting. The salon on the ground floor has all day coffee, tea, sodas, fruit, homemade snacks and comfy chairs, plus a fridge for leftovers. Who knows, maybe my son will end up going to Lafayette and we'll be staying there a lot!

Yelp
I had a night here when I was on my honeymoon a little while back. I'd have to say that this is a very cute little bed and breakfast in a nice part of Easton (yes there is a nice part of Easton). It's very near the Lafayette campus and a stone's throw from Morici's restaurant (great place for dinner). I'd say the entire area is very safe and convenient for pedestrians. The staff was very nice and I could have sworn the owner himself was making us breakfast. While we're on the topic of breakfast, they had a cute little kitchen with all sorts of fresh ingredients and your breakfast was made in front of you. There was also an assortment of fresh baked goods and coffee in the living room at all times of the day. Definitely a bit pricey but the rooms were beautifully furnished. Our room had a GIANT bathtub which the wife loved and used twice during our stay. The free wireless Internet was a little spotty but it's an old building. The entire neighborhood has a lot of pretty houses and is in an "older" part of Easton. Which means lots of thick walls for wireless signals to penetrate.

Yelp
This inn is housed in a beautiful old building, but i think it's a bit overpriced considering the location. Bed was comfy, bathroom just didn't dry out (even with fan), windows would not open (they were painted shut) and the AC had a mind of its own. Breakfast was nothing to write home about -- the bacon was microwaved and the scrambled eggs were so-so. For almost $200 a night i expect something a little more imaginative. i wouldn't recommend it for the price.

Yelp
I have had the pleasure of staying at the Lafayette Inn twice-- once for an interview at Lafayette College (2 nights) and once to visit the campus to make my decision (5 nights). I can honestly say that Laura and Paul are two of the nicest B&B owners around. They were very helpful in suggesting restaurants and even a real estate agent. The room (#26) was very nice and the bed was very comfortable and the house is gorgeous. They truly make you feel like you are at home. Breakfast is really nice-- in contrast to a previous review, I thought the omelets were great (plenty of veggie options), the bacon was cooked well, and they serve cappuccino and espresso in addition to great regular coffee. They also have baked goods out all day. The parlor is a great place to hang out and it has a really nice fireplace. Honestly, I would consider living here!

Yelp
I expect inns associated with Select Registry not to have pet friendly rooms that smell like urine and they would not give us a refund if we did not spend the night.

S W.

Yelp
We spent a night here in a great room (no. 24) and thoroughly enjoyed it. Staff were pleasant and the breakfast was great. To be able to help yourself to a slice of cake in the lounge is a very civilized touch. All in all a very pleasant experience.

Adrian W.

Yelp
Spent a spontaneous night here last weekend, after antiquing in nearby New Jersey. Reception was nice, very friendly, there are drinks and snacks always available in the inviting library. Breakfast was terrific, with a large selection of homemade food. Altogether a most pleasant surprise.

Yelp
Wonderful b & b! My husband and I just came back from staying at the Lafayette Inn this weekend. The inn is a beautifully restored building with large covered porches with chairs and tables perfect for outdoor dining or relaxing. It has a large comfortable parlor for reading papers or chatting with friends. The variety of breakfast offerings made a perfect start to our day in the sunny and nicely decorated breakfast room. My husband had Belgian waffles, while I had a made-to-order omelet. There was also fresh fruit, bagels, English muffins and plenty of excellent coffee and tea. I could go on and on about the comfortable bed, wifi, cable TV and nice furnishings in our room, but I think you get the idea. If you're in the Easton area, I strong recommend the Lafayette Inn!

Melissa E.

Yelp
Stayed for one night this past weekend when we were in town for a wedding. The inn is just beautiful and everyone was friendly and pleasant. I enjoyed the treats that were made available in the parlor and the complimentary coffee and tea. I was so delighted that they had organic coffee which was delicious. The breakfast was beyond amazing and the perfect way to start the day. I would highly recommend this inn to anyone.
