Amazing place! We tried the cheese pizza, chocolate croissant, hot chocolate(one of the best I have ever tried) and chai tea. All was 10/10. Fresh and delicious. The staff was very friendly and helpful as well. They were so calm with us even though it was so busy. 10/10 overall

Google
I really loved their Ice Latte and their Chocolate Twist! The staff were really friendly as well. Service was quick!

Google
Lovely Spot by the River .. The Coffee and Bakery is such a nice little spot! They offer a great variety of sweet and savory optionsand the coffee is delicious. One of the best parts thats its located right beside the Bow River—perfect for grabbing your drink and treat to-go and enjoying it by the water. Highly recommend if you're in the area!

Google
Driving from Calgary to Salmon Arm, stopped in for a quick lunch. It was a bleary, rainy day in March. Temperatures were hovering around 5C. The Beef Chili and Bison Pie were exactly what we needed. Very flavourful and hearty. The staff were very cheerful and helpful. Flat White was...acceptable. A bit closer to a latte, but still hit the spot. Looking forward to another visit!

Google
Breakfast by the river? Delicious pastries? Coffee? Parking? All there! Their food is great and hearty a wonderful stop while out and about. There is a grocery store just steps away if you need supplies or other snacks/food.

Decent sandwiches. Some gluten free options like chili and some baked goods. Probably the best place to grab a bite to eat on Lake Louise.

Been coming here for years. Love the pastries—sure, five bucks feels a bit steep, but I bite, because they taste damn good. But honestly, I don’t know anymore. Am I just being a snotty prick for saying what we’re all thinking, or is anyone else tired of getting nickel-and-dimed for the basics? Tip this, tip that—there’s even a forced gratuity for ordering a pizza now. I’m not pointing fingers at the staff—they’re just doing their jobs. This isn’t on them. It’s a top-down issue, plain and simple. Management—or more accurately, ownership—needs to stop biting the hand that feeds them. Instead of guilt-tripping customers into covering wage gaps, maybe step up and pay your people properly. Don’t offload the cost of doing business onto loyal locals or unsuspecting tourists.

Google
We ordered a meat pie each and the quality was consistently bad in our opinion. Flakey floury pastry - good thing they included a fork as you couldn't lift it out of the foill tray. Both had largish chunks of meat that were far from tender and some pieces with gristle. Gravy thin and more suited to chicken than beef pie. Shop looked nice and other food may be OK however I would not recomed the pies.

Yelp
This bakery was our go-to for early breakfast runs during our 4-day stay in Lake Louise. We enjoyed their delicious breakfast sandwiches and the butter croissants (so soft and flaky, yum!). Yes, we could make our own breakfast in our Hostel, but TBH coming here to have a hot and delicious breakfast was perfect for beginning each day.  The only downside is this place do not have guest restroom. With all the pasteries and coffee, you'd think a restroom would be a nice feature. There was a public restroom near by but it was closed the entire time we were in Lake Louise. So that's that. Overall we really do enjoy Laggan's breakfast and would recommend it.

Yelp
This is a pretty good quality bakery and deli in the Lake Louise Village mall. That makes it very popular when a tour bus pulls up at lunch time, so expect a queue unless you are near first off the bus. We stopped in here twice during the week - once for a roast beef sandwich and a veggie roll, and another time for a slice of pepperoni pizza. Those items hit the spot at the time for us.

S T.

Yelp
Jamaican "beef" pastry apparently doesn't come with any visible beef... who knew lol Buyer beware it's mostly refried beans and some seasonings.

David D.

Yelp
Some English here in case they read this. The roast beef Sammich was delicious. But that chili was really super delicious.i regretted taking a small bowl and I was still thinking about it hours later.

Glenn G.

Yelp
Not wanting to eat breakfast at our hotel, we walked over to the strip mall with this bakery and got in the line to order (it's very popular on weekend mornings). We enjoyed our coffee drinks and pastry items, especially the cinnamon roll. We always prefer little local spots like this rather than chains and were glad we stopped in. There isn't much seating but we were taking our items back to our hotel, anyway.

Yelp
Love it. Easy stop in Lake Louise . Great selection of breads and pastries. The chocolate and almond croissants were very good. The brownie was so moist and delicious. I'd definitely come back. The baguette was fine, but not the best.

Kimberly H.

Yelp
Amazing selection of fresh, flakey pastries, just in time to get energized before checking out Lake Morraine. Breakfast croissants much appreciated on a snowy morning in June.

Yelp
Best place I've been to in Lake Louise. Better than the bakery at the Fairmount by far. Prices are very understandable and everything is extremely tasty. A very great local and authentic experience. Variety in menu is also amazing. Would rather eat here than any and every restaurant in the fairmount!!!! - (stayed in fairmount for 4 days and went to all restaurants)

Keith P.

Yelp
Got a couple coffees here and was pleasantly surprised. Service was good and coffee as well

Allison D.

Yelp
Ordered the "sausage roll" and it was mediocre at best. Previously frozen puff pastry with some type of sausage stick inside. No GF options, which would have been helpful for our party.

Amy L.

Yelp
The only place to get decent coffee in Lake Louise. Breakfast is not bad but overpriced. Best to eat outside, there are picnic tables by the river.

Mai L.

Yelp
I got a cheese pizza bagel and a hot chocolate with soy milk. We had to wait in a bit of a line but it was moving quickly and gave us a chance to stare at everything in the glass counter. My friend got the chocolate chip peanut butter cookie and mentioned how soft and delicious it was! My hot chocolate was great! And the pizza bagel was a good snack after a long day out in the snow and cold. The employees were friendly. It's a small space but we were able to grab a table and enjoy our snacks quickly.

Courtenay O.

Yelp
Two efficient, friendly cashiers kept the line moving. We got two ham sandwiches that we saw in the deli case when we walked in. The also efficient, friendly young woman behind the long counter - containing delicious bakery items - got them for us, as well as a peanut butter chocolate chip cookie. Everything was delicious, and we paid a reasonable price. We also saw pizza slices in a warming case that looked good. We spotted a menu hung on the wall offering drinks and sandwiches if we didn't see something we wanted, readily available. The place was busy, and had only a few tables inside. A few picnic tables were outside with umbrellas, but not just for this place. A tv on the wall played scenes of the area. Music was rock'n'roll. It had a good vibe.

Yelp
Found this place when researching things to do around Lake Louise. We came here twice during our trip to Banff. The first was around 2pm and the place was packed, with a line almost out the door. The line moved quickly though, and we got our food and found a seat in around 15 minutes. Second was near closing time on a Tuesday. They still had some pastries left, so we grabbed some cookies and such. All were amazing! The place has a family/mom & pop shop feel, and staff is always really young & friendly. I was super impressed with the variety of food options they offer. We ordered the mac & cheese, butter chicken, beef pot pie, BBQ pork rib, and beef chili. Everything was seriously delicious and cost us around 37 CAD. Would definitely come back to pick up some pastries for breakfast!

Yelp
Cute, spot for breakfast and wonderful selection of Kusmi Teas! The homemade sandwiches were terrible but liked the breakfast sandwiches

Yelp
What a great place for fueling up on delicious treats and energy before setting out to hike, ski or hang out in Lake Louise. Love, love the selection of goodies behind the counter. Great location, great service behind the counter, great place to hang out in the morning or a for a tasty treat break. We'll be back!

Norine A.

Yelp
This was one of my first stopovers in Lake Louise. It was recommended by a lot of locals for their butter chicken and breakfast pastries. I came for lunch time- there was no lineup. The seating area was typical of a local gas station bistro setting, not anything special in decor. Ratings on 5 stars: I ordered the butter chicken** at 10$ + tax that came with a few pieces of red meat, preboiled rice (Jasmine/ basmati would've been a better combination), a heavy tomatoe based sauce vs cream (more on the tart side). Interestingly, they topped my friend's butter chicken with greek yogurt and chives (I'm sorry this is not a bake potatoe dish!) so I opted out for these toppings. The meal was still filling. I also tried the mac n cheese ***which I enjoyed more than the butter chicken- it was creamy with cheddar cheese with curly pasta that was well cooked. My friend had the all dressed pizza that was dry and flavourless. The prices were a bit on the high side (ex. $4.25 for a Jamaican Pattie?! Merde- but it is a tourist venue). I don't think I would come back for the food but I commend the menu for having a fusion of ethnic dishes!

Christina L.

Yelp
If you're planning to go for a long-ish hike at Lake Louise, this is a good place to stop at before taking the shuttle to the lake. The prices here will be about 25-50% cheaper than eating at the Agnes Tea House or at the Alpine Social at the Fairmont (which is the only place at the hotel you'll be able to eat at if you're not staying at the hotel). So if you're hungry, need fuel for a hike, and/or are price conscious, this is a good place to stop. They also have one uni-sex bathroom here, so it's also a good place to come eat, drink something, and then use the restroom. The food here is just okay -- it's nothing really to write home about. Most of the food here look like mass-produced, not super-fresh pastries: muffins, croissants, cookies, bars, etc. and definitely way more sweet options to savory, maybe 80% sweet to 20% savory. I don't think they bake anything here on premise (maybe some things) so despite a large selection of treats, it's not a bakery with fresh pastries. They definitely favor quantity over quality. We got a tuna salad sandwich which was on a pretzel bun and I liked that combination of flavors and textures. The bread wasn't quite as mushy as other kinds of breads that get soggy quickly with tuna sandwiches, especially since the sandwiches here are pre-made. The quinoa salad was a nice healthy surprise. It's pretty basic mixed with bell peppers and with a lemon dressing, but it was filling and healthy. The dressing is uber lemony so don't pour it all on at once, they must have zested 4 lemons into some olive oil for one serving of dressing. Not sure I would make a special trip again to eat here but it was fine for an inexpensive lunch and way cheaper than eating at the actual Lake Louise. Just don't expect gourmet sandwiches and pastries and you'll be fine.

Yelp
Great place to grab a sandwich and go, or have a bakery item. My husband tried a croissant one day and we shared a peanut butter cookie. It's all good. Since there isn't much in the way of delis in the Village, we stopped here twice for lunch items. Sure beats the grocery store's prepackaged lunch faire.

Avery F.

Yelp
So much selection! Employees are super kind. Pastry's are great (danish heaven!) and one of the best oat milk latte I've had since visiting Banff and lake Louise.

Chi C.

Yelp
Coffee was weak and while the pastry selection was plentiful, it was less than tasteful. It didn't help that the assistant seemed less than interested in helping so much as talking to his buddy. This is strike two for me for the local businesses here. On the plus side, it has enough seats to accommodate its traffic and a cute little sitting area outside as well. I really wanted to give it at least a 3-star as I think 2-stars are pretty bad for businesses but I couldn't do it on this one. That said, in light of the limited options here and the heavy foot traffic, I don't think the businesses will suffer.

Janine W.

Yelp
This place is a big nope for me. Our family stopped there for lunch and every thing we chose was far from appetizing. Both my kids pizza were tasteless. My chicken pot pie wasn't edible. In fact, I threw most of it away. It had a really, really weird mix of spices and was not what you even expect a chicken pot pie to be. It was like someone was trying to give chicken pot pie a twist but can't cook in the first place. It's interior is cramped. When it's busy, you're pretty much stuck fighting for a place to eat your food. The decor could use an update, but really, there are more important things there that need an update. Sorry, but the place wasn't good.

Hannah G.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I stopped by Laggan's for a quick lunch on our way to Abraham Lake. Laggan's is a counter service café with house-baked pastries, sandwiches, and pizza by the slice. I ordered a slice of Spicy Meat pizza and my boyfriend ordered a slice of Margarita pizza and BBQ Chicken pizza. All three slices were delicious. Of course, we had to try the baked goods, as well. The peanut butter brownie I ordered had the optimal balance of peanut butter and chocolate. It was chilled to the perfect temperature too. Thank goodness we were able to snowshoe off all of the calories we consumed!

Eric B.

Yelp
Laggan's Mountain Bakery & Delicatessen is located in the Samson Mall which is just off the Trans Canada Highway (or the Bow River Parkway) and towards Lake Louise. This is a nice unpretentious and relatively inexpensive bakery/deli that has very tasty baked goods for breakfast and and sandwiches, etc. for lunch. You have to order at the counter, but there is inside seating in addition to takeout. Coffee, tea, chai, juices, and of course hot chocolate are also available. This can also be a pretty busy place, but it's worth the wait. You'll also see all types of tourists, skiers, outdoors folks etc. during your short time here.

Carrie P.

Yelp
Whenever I stop through Lake Louise, I usually hit Laggan's Mountain Bakery and Delicatessen. It doesn't matter what time of day I stop there, it is lined up out the door. This is obviously a grab and go stop for many locals and tourists. Even though there are a tonne of baked goods in the class cases, I usually, predictably get their vegetarian pizza by the slice and a coffee. The Veggie Pizza is absolutely delicious. I haven't tried a tonne of the pastries there over the years, but I have tried the Hazelnut Bar and the Healthy Cookie. The Hazelnut Bar I loved. It is quite grainy looking and it appears dense. Surprisingly, it is not though. It looks like a big Biscotti, half dipped in chocolate, but it actually has the consistency of a fresh cookie. It is not too sweet, so the dipped chocoolate makes it a bit sweeter. The Healthy Cookie I did not care for, but I see a lot of people order them. It is quite grainy and dense. It has lots of grainy flavor, but I guess if I am ordering a "cookie", I prefer a bit more sugar. However, these cookies seem to fly off the shelves there. If you are looking for a quick bite to eat, don't be intimidated by the lineup. It moves fast!

Cynthia F.

Yelp
Immediate acknowledgement when you arrive, fast service to help you, and a huge spread of choices to TRY to choose from. This place was hopping and now we know why. We weren't really hungry but were so impressed with the selection that we bought a few gluten free cookies. Ten minutes later while driving down the highway, I was so tempted to do a u-turn and return for more. Specifically their gluten free almond and chocolate macaroon cookie was not too sweet, good and chewy, not crumbly (important when you are driving and eating) and importantly it was moist and with the perfect amount of coconut, crushed almonds and chocolate topping. My GPS is programmed for our return visit in the spring. With a reminder to arrive hungry.

Phoebe K.

Yelp
Very good price and good amount of the food We had 5 people , we ordered butter chicken ,turkey pie , pulled pork on rice and mac and cheese. Turkey pie was good than what we expected! As a low budget trip , this place would be a good choose.

Doug G.

Yelp
Solid place to stop in for quick lunch nearby Lake Louise. Order in cafeteria style line, but items taste as though prepared to order. Good value on food which had variety & good taste, and helpful employees turning over order fairly quickly. Cramped seating area in this peak July afternoon time, but not unexpectedly so given the season. Recommend!

Julie G.

Yelp
A wide variety of pastries for sure. Ask them to heat up your pastry if you like them soft and gooey. The employees didn't offer this and I didn't think about it until I realized how doughy and kinda hard the pastries were.

Serena W.

Yelp
I was staying at Castle mountain chalets and decided to pop in here after climbing Mt. Temple. Lots of options, something for everyone. I got some Margherita pizza, which was unexpectedly amazing, actually some of the best pizza I've ever had.

Souk O.

Yelp
We arrived super early in the morning and had a quick breakfast before a full day of skiing. The service was really good and super friendly staff. It's has a nice cozy and local atmosphere with a lot of history on the walls. Had a pretty good selection of baked goods and breakfast items. My western egg sandwich wasted really good....even though it was pre-made and microwaved to warm up. My kids had their baked goods and didn't care for it much... Tasted dry and not fresh. Overall, it was a nice stop early in the morning and enjoyed the break.

Alex T.

Yelp
We were very excited to see a bakery close to our hotel. We love to try new bakeries while traveling. Having good reviews sealed the deal. We had to try it out. We purchased 8 different types of pastries and baked goods. Every single one was regretted at first bite and none of them were finished. They were all dry and bland. The bread was burnt on top. The apple fritters were laughable. Shouldn't there be apples in an apple fritter!? They had almost no taste and definitely no apples. The raspberry danishes tasted like they came in bulk from a grocery store. The prices were very high for the quality of food. I guess when you have a captive customer group in a small tourist town you don't need to have excellent food, just edible food. It was, but just barely. We won't be back and wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Brian S.

Yelp
Waited in line for 15 minutes. All I wanted was a coffee. Only 2 people working there, I can only assume they were the owners. I was last one in line and next to be served, and the guy tells me sorry we're closed. Ridiculous.

Burnell Z.

Yelp
Awesome little coffee shop. Great playlist, good coffee and a nice selection of breakfast sandwiches.

Joe C.

Yelp
Laggan's is a great bakery for grabbing some baked goods early in the morning before hitting the trails or the slopes. As a delicatessen, it could use some improvement. Personally for lunch I recommend going to the nearby Trailshead Cafe. That's what I did. Honestly I took one look at their sandwiches and immediately walked out. They didn't look appetizing at all. Later on I purchased a couple nut square treats from Laggan's for the road and they were great. From what I can tell their other baked goods looked very good as well. A few tables and chairs are located in the rear, in front of a large window overlooking a small brook.

Graeham M.

Yelp
If Laggan's and establishments of similar ilk were not grandfathered in by the National Parks, and subsequently allowed to operate with impunity, sans competition they would cease to exist. Laggan's is known as a local joint, only because there is no true feasible alternative. Please don't get me wrong, one is free to slurp down a sugary Goliath sized Irish Cream coffee from the Petro-Canada while choking on gas fumes, and more often than not I have opted for this alternative. I simply couldn't tolerate the substantial prices and wait times at Laggan's, the ineptitude of their staff and the deplorable quality of the baked goods and sandwiches that they try to pass off as hearty local fare. One could drive the hour to Canmore and grab some Timmy's and had they stayed at Laggan's they would still inevitably be three people away from being served. Harsh, but very, very true. I call em like I see em.

Terry M.

Yelp
Coffee sucks. Ordered latte and a mocha. They tasted terrible. We threw them away. Plus the place is run by a bunch of kids who would rather talk to each other than give good service. Never going back. Don't waste your time.

S J.

Yelp
I write this review with consideration of the location and the competition. Having paid more than $50 for breakfast at the hotel, we were thrilled to find this little bakery cum deli. They serve good (not great or overly fancy) baked goods, coffee, sandwiches, soups, pizza by the slice and even a few salads. It has become out go-to place on ski trips. Stop for fresh bagels and fruit salad in morning, its the cheapest breakfast option in the village. The coffee is good. Would this be a 4 star at home, probably not but given the limited food choices in LL, it really is a must try. It can get busy, but hard to think of a better setting to wait in line for a few minutes.

Edward F.

Yelp
Great lunch stop when in the Lake Louise area. We had the chili on a cold day and the mac and cheese the next day. Yum! It's a pretty busy place, so maybe have someone grab a table for you while you're ordering. Otherwise, stop in here and get some lunch!!

Dawn D.

Yelp
Good coffee, tea and baked goods. Terribly dirty. They need someone who goes through and cleans the tables and picks up. They are really crowded and seem to not take too much pride in the place. Just fine to get a coffee and shop the shops.

Kathy Z.

Yelp
An average deli, lackluster decor and straightforward fare. Plenty of seating even during the peak times. Service wasn't great; the servers are nice enough, but if you order anything that needs to be heated up, make sure you keep an eye on them as they're preparing it. We waited ages just for them to toast our bagel, which they had simply left at the back and forgotten about. The bagel was tiny, by the way. Terrible way to start the day. We also had the Health Cookie, which is a mix of supposedly healthy ingredients (which they list at the display) -- really dry and grainy at first, but it grows on you. Coffee cups are tiny too and pretty flimsy. You'd think they would be better at handling the daily morning traffic, but you get what you pay for, I suppose. I'd much rather go to the cafe across the corner (Trailhead, I believe?). They've got a much better atmosphere, and more interesting (hot and fresh!) breakfast options, but it is a bit smaller than this one.

Judy J.

Yelp
There aren't too many options in lake Louise, but you can bet that you'll get great food at this place. We ordered a pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw and kettle chips, as well as a poutine and both were absolutely delicious. The portion size was huge and their kettle chips were made to order! The poutine gravy was so good that I started dipping my chips in it.

Michael W.

Yelp
Coffee is good and the food is not bad but the atmosphere is horrible. Loud obnoxious music played which is often drowned out by kitchen and espresso machine noises. Not the place to go to relax and enjoy a coffee

Crystal J.

Yelp
I am pretty sure everything is made using both love and magic. I have had the mac n cheese, breakfast sandwich, and raspberry bar. All incredible, I'd only wish for bacon a little more well done on the sandwich. Great and fast service. It does get busy. Only reasonable prices in town. If I lived here, this is the only place I'd go. Yum!

Robert D.

Yelp
Excellent lunch spot. Good soups, sandwiches, and pastries, reasonably priced (for Lake Louise!). Good service even when busy. Pleasant picnic tables behind the shop overlooking a rushing stream. Right next to a grocery store, too.

Maria T.

Yelp
Great find for a bakery with lots of choices and good coffee. The Who was playing in the background so this place is urban in a country setting.

Alicia V.

Yelp
We ordered several sandwiches. The Reuben was good but the BLT was not exciting. We didn't try the coffee but the selection was good. Staff was friendly and the restaurant was clean.

Greg P.

Yelp
Great place to pick up a carry out lunch before touring LL or Moraine Lake where options can be limited. I think they also had salads but they were sold out by the time we arrived for a carry out dinner. The sandwiches were panini style and there was good variety of fresh choices made earlier in the day. They would not custom make sandwiches which was somewhat limiting, but the place was so packed I don't blame them. The service might have been more efficient, but it moved along ok. There are picnic tables in the courtyard nearby or walk down to the river and sit on a rock. Market next door had foam coolers to carry sandwiches. My wife had a quinoa cup at a separate time which she liked.

Yolanda Y.

Yelp
I don't know of any other bakeries here so that already sets it apart. I was surprised to see how many other options existed in terms of lunch items like sandwiches and pies. We got a couple pastry things and they were very good. The dough was chewy and flaky. Prices are reasonable. The coffee was alright. Not the best seating situation, but there's room to sit.
