Strawberry & marzipan tart is very good with light cream and strawberries on top and sweet almond filling! The cappuccino and matcha ice latte (which was supposed to be strawberry flavoured but it didn’t have any strawberry taste) were too diluted.

A chain bakery with decent offerings. If you’re coming for breakfast and fancy something sweet, you’re spoilt for choice. There are savoury options, but they’re sandwiches more suited for lunch, unless you like a bigger breakfast. We came here twice and got a chocolate cinnamon swirly pastry (snail?), a chocolate muffin and a pain au chocolat. The chocolate snail was very sweet and decadent. It was my favourite, but you certainly have to eat it in moderation. It would’ve been nice to have savoury options for breakfast, but overall, the sweet pastries we got were decent. There are multiple payment points along the counter to increase efficiency rather than having everyone queuing up at one cashier. Counter seating has hooks under the table for your bag, which is convenient and much appreciated.

The year was 2020, I was living abroad for the first time in my life and my husband introduced me to Lagkagehuset as part of his family tradition of "Kaffeetrinken" · we made several stops to order cakes of all kinds from your store in Christianshavn, just a pity I didn't document every single purchase. (All other times I did take pictures once we'd gotten home before we dug in though). I've given 3 stars for atmosphere because we never actually sat down and had cake there.

Great place, amazing location. In front of the metro. Sandwiches are the best. Love it and highly recommended.

I ordered an Americano coffee, a salmon sandwich and a cake. They are very delicious 😋. The staffs are very friendly and nice, they suggested for me the best of choices. I love the space and decoration of shop. I have enjoyed my foods and my beautiful time. I will definitely visit again when I come back Copenhagen 🥰

The young staff was incredibly friendly while being very fast. - if I owned a restaurant I try and steal the staff from here. Many people where coming in but no line developed. The pastry and sandwich was fresh and delicious.

Very nice café and backers. Lots of goodies to choose, I visited afternoon and everything was fresh. Choosing options could be overwhelming if it’s your first visit, but almost everything is great. Seating near windows are nice. Recommended.

The pastry is nice flaky and buttery. The croissant is a bit salty though which is a bit odd. The flodeboller is quite too sweet for Asian taste ,it might be good with coffee. In general it’s a good experience tasting some Danish made pastries.

Yelp
We came here almost EVERY DAY for coffee and a snack before venturing out into the city. Their lattes are rich and delicious, as are the flat whites. Service is great, English is spoken and everyone is friendly. The shop itself is expansive and clean, and we always found someplace to sit and watch people walk by as we enjoyed our morning coffee. I got a croissant every day, 'cos DAMN they were buttery and delicious. Just perfect.

Yelp
I love this place so much! We went to two different Lagkagehuset while in Copenhagen. This is where I had Passionsnitten and Flødebolle med kokos. The former is very refreshing with a crispy base of chocolate and coconut and the top part is a mousse like cake with passion fruit and pistachios. The latter is a cream bun with a marzipan filling, coated with dark chocolate and coconut shavings. These pastries are definitely on the sweeter side so I definitely recommend pairing them with some coffee.

Yelp
To the point: Fantastic pastries..! Period Coffee: Top Notch Ambiance: perfect for the morning wake up or afternoon walk. Came here because of the close location. Good choice,, excellent selection and taste. Took a seat near the canal side and watched the boats and cyclists moving about while enjoying my cappuccino and chocolate danish.. Staff very friendly and helpful in deciding what great pastries to try. Quick service and preparation. Good place for a way to strategize how to plan the day..!

Yelp
Before I left S CA I asked around where I should go for a good danish and here I am. This place was great. I was hoping for an apple flavored danish but tried a few others. Will definitely recommend this location if anyone comes from abroad.

Yelp
Food was great but no bathroom and somewhat limited seating. We had the spicy chicken salad and club sandwiches along with a Christianshavnerkage pastry.

Yelp
My second try at a Lagkagehuset (first was at Copenhagen Central Station). This time, we were in the middle of our hop-on hop-off bus tour around and the city, and this branch was conveniently located right next to our bus stop. What else was I supposed to do while waiting for a bus? The clear windows were full of sweets calling out to me. I had also been told by a native friend to try the Romkugle, which is a Danish rum ball. It was around $3 for one, or $7 for 3. I got three, not knowing at the time this thing was chock full of rum. Whether it had anything alcohol left it in or not, I doubt or know, but I handed two off to my fellow travelers who were very religious and abstain from all alcohol. Sorry! Anyway, the rum ball was dense, moist, and rum-my in flavor. If that's your thing, you will love these. For me, not so much. They were almost like a Brasilian brigadeiro, which I prefer. The service here was ok. It was super busy, lines were hectic, but all-in-all, no problems. The layout and look was different to the other branch I had visited, and again, it was fun to window shop, and see the variety of sweets they offered.

Yelp
Their pastries here are absolutely divine! You can't go wrong with anything but one of my favorites were the chocolate cinnamon roll. I paired that with their mocha latte which was absolutely amazing. It left such an impression on me it's probably the best one I've ever had in my life! My friend didn't like it so much but I loved it because it had such a lovely rich flavor without being too sweet. They use real high quality chocolate chips to mix with the coffee instead of powder mix like most places. They have a nice clean bathroom (although it's only one) and offer free tap water. I also must comment on how wonderful the customer service was here! If you're planning on going to Christiania, this is a nice stop!

Yelp
The pastries were mediocre and the selection not so great. Quite early already out of chocolate croissants. I ordered a cappuccino but never got it. This had a very chain feel. Take a number, move quickly. The young man who served us didn't know what many of the items were without having to ask. They needed more help. The ham and cheese sandwich was decent but heavy on the mustard. We have a cinnamon pastry you buy by the size slave you want. It was fine. Very busy though. Parterre down the street looked much better and I'd give that a try instead next time.

Yelp
Favorite coffee shop in Copenhagen! a must go if you are in the city! The coffee is good and strong. Pastries are fantastic - fresh and sweet Espresso is my go to.... honestly anything here is amazing. It's a chain so you can find multiple around the city but this one specifically is my favorite.

Yelp
A yum and a yum yum yum! This place has a baked good for any craving! My friend and I walked by their window and had to go in. This was a good decision. The place was bustling and we immediately took a number as we wanted in on the action. We got a large chocolate ball and a strawberry cream tart. The large chocolate ball had a wonderfully fudgy consistency and tasted like rum. Oooh la la, hiccup! The strawberry tart was my favorite as the cream and strawberry ratio was perfection. The crust on the tart was also delicious as it tasted like a glazed shortbread that enhanced the strawberry and cream as opposed to taking away from it. The place was clean and super efficient as well. I will be back for another strawberry tart and this time...I'm not sharing!!!

Yelp
I've never been happier to see the Hare Krishna, than at this Christianshavns Kanal location. After years of trying to avoid making eye contact with them, refusing to take that damn flower they've been offering me for decades, or giving nothing back in return when surprised into accepting it - I could finally throw that guilt monkey off my back by offering them instead half of the Gulerodskage (Carrot Cake) and wienerbrodstang (literally: long piece of wienerbrod: Vienna bread - made of dough, butter, sugar, marzipan/custard/jam). That way, I could avoid the guilt of buying something that I had no physical means of finishing, and the only reason I'd been forced to buy the size was because there were no smaller sizes available. Lagkagehuset is a more than competent mini-chain bakery. I can't say I loved any of the items I tried, but then this was the afternoon of the same day when I'd consumed some exceptional baked goods at Andersen's Bakery in the morning. That said, if you're in the area, and you should be for the Christianshavns Kanal, do stop by and try their Romkugle (Rum balls) and Direkter snegl (Chocolate snails) There is a continuous flow of customers, so do remember to take a number when you walk in - and don't let the rude customers (likely all tourists) cut ahead of you...

Yelp
Large selection of pastries to choose from. Very busy. I wish there was English signage of what the pastries is. I had to choose by how it looked. Clean environment.

Yelp
I don't know what to say about this place. It's pure perfection. No bakery in the US even comes close. Get the cinnamon snail / wheel / roll. I don't care how people call it. This is what everyone should try. Their house drip coffee is amazingly fresh and lovely, too. I can't get tired of drinking it.

Yelp
Now you can't go to Denmark without having a Danish, can you? At least that's how I justify sugary carb intakes that are truly, truly bad for me. Much to my surprise, it turns out that Danish aren't even Danish. They're Viennese, and they didn't even originate in Vienna. They're actually based on Turkish baklava, which I could've purchased down the block from me in San Francisco at the local Turkish gyros place. But who cares? They sell Danish in Denmark, and I read that this is the place to get them. A popular chain of bakeries in the city, Lagkagehuset is especially busy at its Christianshavn corner location on Torvegade. As you'd expect, there are abundant baskets of baked goods and pastries in the window and the long display case, and crowds of people browsing (see photos). You pull a number and wait. Just between you and me, nothing really excited me much. It all looked appetizing enough, but they didn't look terribly creative in execution either. I ended up getting a berry-chocolate tart filled with a strawberry cream (see photo) for 26.40 DKK (Danish krone), which is roughly $4.80. The chocolate crust was too hard for my taste even though the strawberry cream was lighter than I expected and not too sweet. But it didn't rev my engine to get a box to go. Better looking were the loaves of fresh bread, but alas, I was not planning to feed a Danish soccer team. SWEETS - 3 stars...pretty enough but execution was more routine than I was hoping for the calories AMBIANCE - 2.5 stars...a big space but few seats available SERVICE - 2.5 stars...a bit on automatic pilot with little assistance TOTAL - 3 stars...so I got my Danish in Denmark...can check it off my list now

Yelp
Take a number as soon as you walk in, and beware of the rude customers who will cut in with a wrong number when they call your number. We ordered a couple of pastries and mocha coffees, the pastries were very good but the coffee was okay. This a popular place and seems to have a following with a steady flow of customers.

Yelp
I'm in love with Lagkagehuset. Truth be told I haven't tried any of their delicious looking pastries, but they have a slice of marzipan with chocolate that is gluten-free and incredible. In addition to bread and pastries, they have a delicious coffee menu which includes flat whites, which are typically very difficult to find in Copenhagen. I recently discovered that they offer a 30% discount to students. Amazing! With locations all around CPH, this is the perfect excuse to purchase more of their delicious and high quality coffee & baked goods. Apparently they also have a selection of gluten-free cakes-- the perfect return for more tasty treats.

Yelp
Good for a chain bakery, and with pretty reasonable prices by Copenhagen standards. I think all of their locations have a very large selection of buns, pastries, small tarts/cakes, and full-sized cakes. Most of the Danish pastries are about 20-21 DKK. FYI, they have an interesting system here where you take a number when you come in, and wait until they call you to order. While the kanelsnegl (cinnamon snail/roll) here didn't really blow me away, I was pretty impressed by the strawberry tart (30 DKK). It's a pretty decent-sized tart and is topped with 7 large strawberries (I believe they are all full strawberries and not halves) and some almond slices. I tried one near the end of strawberry season (end of September) so the strawberries weren't very sweet and were a bit on the blander side, but I can imagine this tart would be amazing in the summer with sweeter strawberries.

Yelp
OH this place....my favorite bakery in Denmark. And if it weren't for a few hidden gems in Paris, this would be my favorite Bakery in Europe. Look in the window, write down the names of things that look good so you don't look like an idiot when you get up to the counter. Then get a ticket and wait for your turn. Repeat a few times over your stay until you've tried every single thing there. The Danish to USD currency conversion always confused the heck out of me, so I have no idea if this place is a good deal or what it all cost, but it was so worth every penny/kroner. Go check it out...

Yelp
This is an above-average authentic local bakery with outstanding pastries, slightly better than average pizza and good coffee. It is frequented by locals and is extremely popular as evidenced by the fact that you must take a number to be served. This is also a terrific corner location to people watch in Christianshavn, a rather unique, and in my view, somewhat downtrodden area. The one huge negative was the fact that there was a person, who appeared to be well known to the servers, who was allowed to walk around and talk to everyone. First he would say God bless you and minutes later he was asking for money. The patrons near me clutched their purses and he walked by. I simply told him in a stern voice to get away from me. Interestingly, when I mentioned this guy to the servers and asked why they allowed this I was told, "we wish we could do something about it. I think this bakery would be well advised to make certain that a man was on staff at all times to get rid of the vagrants.

Yelp
Always a treat to visit, just about a destination for us when visiting Copenhagen. Insanely busy- every one of their many stores, but consistently good. Hint- get there early as they often sell out of many items by late morning.

Yelp
Great bakery chain in Denmark. Good coffee and pastry. Always dependable. Get the strawberry cake and don't share.

Yelp
This is a chain bakery in Copenhagen and is a quick stop for a pastry. I tried both the chocolate croissant and the chocolate muffin. I went in the afternoon and the treats were good but I would recommend going earlier in the day so the treats are a little more fresh and they have a larger variety. They also had a water jug and cups in this location for customers.

Yelp
Lagkagehuset is a nice bakery and a good place to grab coffee or tea. You can get a various of breads/cakes etc of high quality and if you're there to get a quick breakfast it's also possible to get Skyr with granola and berries... The bakery is pretty pricey and I don't get why a large tea costs 5-7 kr more than a small tea, when it's basically just hot water I'm paying for.

Yelp
this is a chain all throughout Denmark- it is a bakery coffee and desserts place. Boy oh boy do they have some yummy treats. I got a chocolate muffin and my wife got a berry tart. Both were DELICIOUS and relatively not all that expensive. I like the way they have you order with a ticket system. Would recommend.

Yelp
I tried their sunflower seeds bread, and it was just fantastically delicous. Also worth trying is their olive flutes!

Yelp
This is a really authentic Danish bakery - great for Sunday morning breakfast. I couldn't even tell you the names of the cakes and breads, but they were all wonderful, as was the coffee. It takes a little moment to get used to the queuing system - you choose what you want from the mouthwatering selection in the window, take a ticket and wait for your number to be called. In Danish mine didn't sound anything like the number printed on the ticket, but luckily I was keeping an eye on the person in front of me and stepped up after she had just been served. Then you just sit on a stool at the window, watching people going by the canal or reading one of the newspapers on the counter. Lovely.

Yelp
This bakery sells good products, but is a little charmless. They have expanded their business a lot over the past few years. There are now tens of identical branches across Copenhagen. I would personally prefer to support a more local, independent business, to maintain diversity on Copenhagen's high street. Nonetheless, the Christianshavner cake is amazing!

Yelp
A memorable experience for me the first time I was in Denmark 5 years ago. On a recent visit I was able find it again without a map, so it made an impression. Excellent selection and always friendly people. Probably not the best bakery I have ever been to, but one of the most complete.

Rachel P.

Yelp
Yum!!! Great coffee! And I recommend the pastry with cinnamon! Only bummer is the lack of seating!

James P.

Yelp
We stopped here a few times during our trip to Copenhagen to fuel up in the morning. The baked goods were tasty (I no longer remember what I ate) and the coffee was decent. This location is definitely used by commuters, and the layout is geared towards it. There is little seating (only along the window) and a lot of room for lines. Of course, we were commuting as well, and it worked perfectly for us.
