A Sweet Step Back in Time This turn-of-the-century confectionary and soda fountain shop is pure nostalgia at its best. From the moment you walk in, you’re transported back in time with the charm of homemade chocolates, old-fashioned candy, and the most delicious ice cream. The homemade hot fudge is out of this world—rich, warm, and the perfect topping. They also serve fresh sandwiches, making it a great spot for a light lunch before diving into dessert. You’ll find a wonderful selection of chocolates and unique gifts to take home, and the friendly staff makes the whole experience even sweeter. A must-visit for anyone with a sweet tooth or a love of the good old days!

It was a wonderful step back in time. Went to both locations, the one in Davenport and the original in Moline. Had a sandwich in Davenport and a homemade hot fudge sundae in Moline. Plus didn't leave without a stash of delicious candy.

Want to go back in time and experience a vintage chocolatier shop? THIS PLACE IS A TIME MACHINE! It’s a must-visit to come and experience hand-made chocolates, candies, licorice, ice cream, sodas, and all the dipped goodies. I guess it’s family-owned for over 100 years (same family). It was recommended to me by another business owner downtown, so I had to stop. What a treat. We selected a custom assortment of dipped toffee, sponge candy, nut clusters, and so much more. Can’t wait to visit the next time we are here so we can try the famous ice cream. Wonderful knowledgeable staff. Clean. Nostalgic. Just sweet all around.

Visited Lagomarcino’s for the first time last month with a couple of friends right before they closed for the day. The ladies working were very kind and helpful. There were so many choices of sweets to choose from and I made sure to leave with some different toffees and truffles. Very sweet and tasty! Hope to visit again when I’m in town next.

The bread was soft and fresh. My grandma thought that the corn beef was tasty because it was fresh. The chocolate milk was so good because there was chocolate syrup in it.

Step back in time at this authentic chocolate shop. Beautiful original counters, woodwork and marquis. Counter lady was very helpful and informative. She shipped some chocolates for us to family on east coast. It is a bit cluttered inside.

Google
Super cute old fashioned ice cream parlor at a great price. Great service thanks to Malorie. The ice cream and especially the hot fudge were delicious. They have other diner food as well not just sweets. We sat in a booth and loved the place, even though they did have some boxes piled up that made the dining area a little messy.

Yelp
I've actually never visited either of the Lagomarcino's locations in person, but instead discovered them when they were mentioned in a newspaper advice column a few years back, where the author was listing some of her favorite things, Lagomarcino's candies being one of them. With a pretty wicked sweet tooth myself, I couldn't wait to check these guys out, and ended up placing the first of many online orders with them over these past few years. In fact, I received my most recent order last week, just in time for holiday indulging. Having now tried a wide range of their candies and chocolates, I can honestly say that's there NOTHING of theirs that I haven't loved, but special favorites in no particular order are their super-rich lemon bark, jars of homemade hot fudge sauce, a wide variety of chocolate-covered bites (cherries, strawberries, sea salt caramel, bourbon caramel, etc.), and cherry sour balls (I think I'm actually addicted to these, lolz). And a special mention goes to their chocolate-covered sponge candy, which is one of their signature items and is pretty much out of this world. Like I said, I've covered a LOT of ground with Lagomarcino's, sampling their various offerings... Being a California boy, See's Candies is my go-to sweets supplier, but I have to say that Lagomarcino's runs a VERY close second, and might even take the top spot if they had a location here in Los Angeles. Since I know that's highly unlikely to happen, I guess I'll just have to make a trip to Illinois or Iowa one of these days and check out their shop(s) in person. That way, I can also finally sample their old-school soda fountain, deli and homemade ice creams. Actually, come to think of it, it's probably better that I don't have a Lagomarcino's nearby, since I would be waaay too tempted to eat myself into sugary, chocolatey oblivion there -- but what a way to go! BTW, they take great care in packing their candy for shipping. I've ordered from them in both summer and winter, and my orders always come through in perfect (and tasty) condition. Thanks, and keep up the great work, Lagomarcino's!

Yelp
Stopped in for some dessert. I heard the hot fudge sundae was the best so I got that and was pleased with it. The staff was also very friendly.

Yelp
I walked by last night because the glowing neon sign just drew toward the storefront. It was closed so I couldn't resist returning this morning because the interior is a nice walk back in time. How could I not look at all the beautifully displayed chocolate and not go crazy and load up for the remainder of my road trip? I dare you to visit and not buy something really good.

Yelp
Cute little place to grab lunch & a sundae or even a small sweet gift. Staff is friendly & efficient.

Yelp
I always look for historic chocolate shops while traveling, and this one caught my eye! Lagomarcino's takes you back to yesteryear whether you're choosing chocolates, ordering ice cream at their soda fountain, or having lunch fresh off the grill! I tried a variety of handmade pieces that were very good, but sad to see that much of their chocolate is from other companies.

Yelp
My uncle always gets the whole family a box of chocolates for all holidays. My favorite are any of the truffles. The Carmel apples are excellent. Love and a must have

Yelp
A MUST SEE IN MOLINE AND DAVENPORT IOWA! Best chocolate and hot fudge sundae in the USA. Great family and atmosphere! Love the Lagomarcinos!

Yelp
I must first start out by saying that I am NOT a lover of ice cream, I can take it or usually leave it for something else. This was the ABSOLUTE BEST ice cream I have ever eaten! I went there with a friend and we split a chicken salad sandwich which was very good. My friend had an ice cream soda which she really enjoyed and I had a Carmel sundae. The ice cream was creamy and rich, it didn't taste anything like the carton ice cream I would normally eat. They make their own Carmel sauce (which they don't sell) and their own Carmel crunchies. I also bought some of their home made fudge topping for a friend and some of their candies. I got an immediate text asking me when I was going back. They loved the chocolate covered marshmallows. I brought a Carmel apple home for myself as well as plain cashews and chocolate covered pecans. I enjoyed it all but I don't think I would get the covered pecans again, because they were panned, not dipped chocolates. My friend and I also enjoyed the history of the place and enjoyed looking at all the signs they have in their store. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and told us a lot of the history of the place as well. If you are every in Moline you must stop in, it was amazing. I can't wait for my return trip.

Yelp
If you're in the Quad City's this place is a step back in time. Chocolate and old soda fountain is classic. The hot fudge is homemade and you can get some to go.

Yelp
Came here for the first time. I saw a picture of my favorite chocolate gummi bears annnnd they ran out?! Just kill me! Nah, anyways, I ordered a chocolate shake and it was rich and delicious. If I'm ever in this area again, I will definitely stop by again. They have a bunch of other fancy chocolates, but my heart and appetite is only for chocolate gummi bears lol. The staff are friendly and service is done outside their shop due to COVID. There was only street parking. Sorry for the menu pictures that have a bad reflection.

Yelp
The great thing of visiting small cities like Moline IL is the chance to find little gem mom & pop stores still putting out great products and Lagomarcino Candy fits that bill! Located in Downtown Moline along 5th Street, Lagomarcino's has been serving homemade ice cream and candy treats for over 106 years. Started my oh'ing and ahh'ing all the tempting candies, but I hit pause so I could try some of their ice cream. Ordered a single portion of English Toffee as a hot fudge sundae. When it came out, my eyes bugged out a bit at it's size. It was a great deal for $4! I would hate to see the double sundae, I wouldn't be able to finish before it melted! I also ended getting 4 or 5 different types of chocolate. Total was $17, what a treat! If you're in downtown Moline, do yourself a favor and check out Lagomarcino's! What a gem! Definitely will repeat and recommend!

Yelp
Best place in the Quad Cities to satisfy your chocolate addiction. Great variety and great staff.

Yelp
I would highly suggest to go to the original store. The ambiance is just like taking a lot of steps back in the old days! And the candy will make you think you died and went to Heaven! The food is always great. The girls who work there are always on top of everything and always have a smile on their face! I was just passing by there today to go to the bank next door and my feet wouldn't let me pass Largo's up. Bought some candy for my grandchildren and of course for me! PS please don't tell my husband! Lol!

Yelp
Cute little shop decorated for Easter. Get your cute chocolate bunnies or filled hollowed chocolate eggs. The chocolates here are Devine. Pricy, but delicious.

Yelp
This longtime family owned establishment always does a great job! We were there for photos with the grinch and our young boys loved it! Their Grinch inspired sundaes were great as were the red apple caramels! If you are every in Moline make a stop for sweet treat!

Yelp
I've been coming here for years. Wonderful food, delicious chocolate. If you're looking for a nice gift for someone, I highly recommend a box of chocolates from either of their locations. Love them, truly a QC staple.

Yelp
If you want to find the cutest little shop ever, stop here. I have always heard of this place but never got up and went. When I did I was pleased!

Yelp
This is a great little candy shop with an old school ice cream parlor within. There is a great history in this place and the employees love what they do. I got ice cream on my last visit, but have also had their candies in the past. Would recommend!
google avatar

Leah A.

Yelp
We were sent in by the locals for ice cream sundaes to celebrate a birthday, but evidently, that's a seasonal menu item and March is out of season. Yummy chocolates, however.
google avatar

Hannah G.

Yelp
I've only been here once so far, but I'll definitely go back. This shop is a perfect dessert date spot, or place to gather with friends. The ice cream sundaes look adorable, and the chocolate is DELICIOUS. I tried the dark chocolate toffee the first time. I'd love to see them include dairy-free ice cream in the future!

Yelp
A step back in time to chocolate wonderland! Lovely family owned business. The staff are attentive and open to sharing their love and of their products and history. Yummy lunch choices, we enjoyed a Ruben, Tuna plate, and sundae and then bought chocolates to go. Good food, homemade chocolate, homemade ice cream, and a smile to go! What could be better?
google avatar

Yelp
This is an awesome, old-fashioned ice cream store. I was amazed with the selection of candies, fudge and chocolates. The only complaint I had was that this place closes before dinner. Oh well! Dessert first, dinner later! My wife and I split the Sundae Royal which was a full-sized banana split sundae with a scoop of strawberry, chocolate and vanilla ice cream. Each flavor was very genuine. The strawberry ice cream tasted like real strawberries and the chocolate tasted like it was made with only chocolate. The banana and fudge and caramel sauces balanced out the dish. We bought a few other goodies before we left. I will keep this in my list of places for the area. I'll have to see if they ship!

Yelp
We went here after lunch across the street. It's an old establishment. Small place with a soda fountain, a few tables and booths...hello, Norman Rockwell! As soon as you walk in, you can smell sweet sweet sugar in the air...diabetes! We tried their Quad-Cities Special which is supposed to look like a river boat having a paddle wheel made of Nilla wafers and has 2 scoops of ice cream (vanilla and strawberry) with a nice texture, banana, strawberry and chocolate toppings, crushed nuts, lots of whipped cream and maraschino cherries. Aside from ice cream and sundaes - they also serve sandwiches, soups, pies, hot beverages and cold beverages. For about $15 you can have a soup, sandwich, a drink and dessert...not bad at all. They have chocolates, hard candies, gummies, toffee, taffy, caramels, fudge, etc. Picked up some pumpkin spice caramels, lemon bark, peppermint bark and some chocolate bars with nuts. The pumpkin spice caramels were good but the chocolate bars were not that great. Texture-wise, they seemed thin to me.

Yelp
This restaurant is 100 years old and it feels like stepping back in time! The front of the restaurant is also candy shop (or is it a candy shop with a restaurant?). It's known for its chocolates. They also serve good sandwiches and old fashioned ice cream concoctions. Great atmosphere.

Yelp
Hometown charm, nostalgia, tasty treats and a wonderful staff!! It's a must see in the Quad Cities.

Yelp
Small place with lots of old school charm. Turns out my grandfather took me here as a child so now returning as an adult has even more nostalgia. The shop area of it is fairly small so if it were a busy day you would definitely be bumping into the other guests. They have a very large variety of candies from gummies, milk chocolate, dark chocolate, truffles, chocolate covered times, etc. My family and I did a sampler box because we could not really decide which pieces we wanted. Honestly, the chocolate was decent - nothing super special that you can't find somewhere else but he decoration on them is far better than I have seen at many places. There was an older woman there that was "helping" us at first but she was more so listening to our conversation and putting in her input. That is not exactly what I was hoping for and a bit rude. The young girl who actually boxed up our items was very friendly and helpful. She also made my cherry cola with some homemade ingredients that made it pretty delicious. The inside looks original to the building which is fun. Nothing to write home about but I understand the nostalgia and there is not much like this in the QC.

Yelp
This is my favorite place to go for a simple lunch and an ice cream treat! Been going here since I was a baby, and I go back every chance I get. A staple in the East Village for sure! Amazing food, amazing people, and even better sweets!

Yelp
Great empathetic assistance was offered when I was looking for a specialty product. Tasty as always!

Yelp
Stopped in for some ice cream and grabbed some sweets to go! We gave the Quad Cities Special ($5.25) a whirl...essentially a Huge Banana split! Bananas, Ice Cream, Strawberry and Chocolate, Whipped Cream, Crushed Nuts, and Cookies. This was good...and the portion was huge, but the flavors were just ok. Nothing really stood out to me...except the portion size. I enjoyed Whitey's moreso personally. All the goodies I grabbed to go were just "ok" too. All the chocolate bars, bark, and sweets were alright, but again, nothing really stood out to me. Perhaps we became jaded with all the chocolatiers in Vegas. I love the vibe here...and the service was friendly. Just didn't really have anything worth raving about here. Good luck!

Ty C.

Yelp
i loved it here. couldn't help but to eat all the truffles i bought in the parking lot

Yelp
This old fashion creamery with sugar and confections just made my head spin I had a sugar rush a flashback into history when I was growing up and a feeling of home like I haven't had in a very very very long time, if you're ever in Moline rock island check this place out it will make you happy and the carbs won't kill you only make you smile !
google avatar

Yelp
A cute, little confectionery in the area. My friends and I came over here after eating at the nearby Brewery. A girlfriend and I got a milkshake... Well I ate almost all of it myself. It was very good and I like the standard glass plus whatever is left in the mixing cup style of ordering a milkshake. One thing that was kind of annoying about this place is that there didn't seem to be room for big parties. All the couples pretty much had to get their own table by themselves. But that's not too much of a drawback. If I'm feeling like ice cream and I am in the area, I would come here again.

Yelp
Cute little place me and my dad come here sometimes to get sandwiches and chocolate cute for a little lunch date

Yelp
They have a very good selection of chocolate and ice cream, prices seemed very reasonable and they had plenty of delicious flavors of ice cream

Yelp
I have been coming here every Holiday season from age 5-16 when visiting family. I am 30 now and went back recently while in town for a relative's memorial service. The decor and such has changed some, which makes complete sense being that almost 20 years has passed. The service and food are just as good. I became a vegan a few years ago (by choice), so did not partake in ice cream or sandwiches, but could tell that my family REALLY enjoyed their meal and dessert. I got a Lago, which tastes like a cherry vanilla soda - delicious. I got a fruit plate which filled me up and a grilled PB abd J. One of the best ideas is to grill a PB and J - SO good. the peanut butter is creamy and melts into your mouth. The staff are friendly and helpful. Definitely recommended.
google avatar

Sheena T.

Yelp
Awesome treats...gifts and food. It just tastes authentic and not like fillers and I can appreciate that. Everything I've tasted so far from here has been good. Very friendly staff also.
google avatar

Lawrence A.

Yelp
I was checking out the downtown area of Moline, and was seeing where the new Element Hotel is going in along with the train depot for the the new service to Chicago this fall. From the outside of Lagomarcino's, it looked vintage and even inside they have preserved the 1950's soda fountain feel. It is worth a look see and check into a establishment that only exists in old photos and movies.

Madison G.

Yelp
They are always my favorite place to go to when I need a pick me up or to go with my grandma. The staff is so nice and the sweets are amazing
google avatar

Candice F.

Yelp
This place was great. Sooo nostalgic. The owner was very friendly and helpful with giving me a brief history of the place. The dark chocolate sea salt bark with almonds were to die for. I sat in one of the old school booths and had a turtle ice cream sunday. It was very tasty. The only thing is that I wish they sold their caramel sauce! They sold the hot chocolate sauce... But they miss out on all the folks that love the caramel! This is a great place to go for a walk down memory lane.
google avatar

Judith M.

Yelp
Our group had a wonderful lunch at Lagomarcino's. This is a prime place to soak up local Quad Cities atmosphere!

Warren C.

Yelp
Great place to pop in for a quick fun lunch. The ice cream was delightful. Lovely family run establishment.
google avatar

Jessica D.

Yelp
Came here on a first date once and it was just lovely. Very old and kitschy, and I was more than pleased to visit the original as I usually visit the East Davenport location. It was way before the clean up, so it was looking its age, but driving by this year, it looks even better now. Good times! Good treats! Can't be beat.

Shay S.

Yelp
Amazing old-time soda "shoppe" in the same building since Roosevelt was President, and I mean Teddy, not Franklin. As I enjoyed my nostalgic lunch of a Green River and a liverwurst sandwich, I half expected to see Mickey Rooney and Judy Garland walk in. To get to the booths (original) you have to run a killer gauntlet of glass-fronted display cases showing rows of hand-dipped chocolates. Their food choices are pretty basic (and good!) but eating here is just the prelude to getting some ice cream; and the ice cream is unbelievable.
google avatar

Sonnet B.

Yelp
I have been coming to this Lagomarcino's my entire life but no time was better than on Valentine's Day of this year. When I was racking my brain trying to think of sweet QC traditions of love, I immediately thought Lago's. I was shocked to see that it was practically empty on Valentine's Day. We ordered hot fudge sundaes... their hot fudge is bananas, like it's from another planet. It's so good. The tall wooden booths are intimate and the little marble tables are darling. Of course, all the old kitschy stuff is on the walls and the tin ceilings add to the old timey decor. Coming there for years and years, I can tell you this, and while many reviewers will disagree with me -- the food at Lago's is seriously nothing to write home about. Not tasty, not worth the price. The ice cream, the confectioneries, the phosphates, the chocolates, the fudge? Hell yes. The turkey sandwich? Eh. Seriously, take your date to Lago's for Valentine's Day. It's swoontastic.
google avatar

Brenna W.

Yelp
May be an unknown fact, but the Lagomarcino's team makes beautiful fruit baskets that make excellent gifts for any occasion or special circumstance! Baskets come loaded with fresh fruit including bananas, apples, oranges, pears, grapes along with chocolate treats and nuts.
google avatar

Kate M.

Yelp
I was much more impressed with this place when I thought it was the only one, not a chain. It's an old time-y lookin place, a soda fountain and chocolate joint. I got a strawberry phosphate and some chocolate. The phosphate wasn't anything special. Like always when I buy chocolate, as soon as I smelled it I wanted nothing to do with it. I'm told it was good though. I did try the toffee, and it was good. It wasn't delicious like I hoped it would be. Situated in the desolate downtown Moline I'm shocked this place is still in business. At 5:30 on a Friday they were sweeping around me and making me feel like I was keeping them late. If you're not prepared to help customers; lock the door.
