Outstanding place. Good food, comfortable rooms within a genuinely delightful setting. A beach to walk to, a laguna to enjoy boat trips through. Most of all Sebastian, quite simply the best tour guide I've come across. Very enjoyable, even with rain and thunder!

This place is absolutely infested with cockroaches. It’s super remote, with amazing wildlife and opportunity to see turtles lay eggs. Food is great. But if you aren’t able to be okay with cockroaches crawling all around you when you try to sleep, then it’s not for you. The rooms are not ‚sealed’ anywhere so it’s super easy for them to come in. The staff just said it’s the wilderness so deal with it, and sprayed a bit of a cockroach repellent in some cracks, which totally didn’t stop them and was very bad for us to breathe in in the night. Something to keep in mind when going this remote

Great experience due to Juan Miguel! He was very informative about the area and all of the plants and animals. We basically saw everything that we expected to see in the two days with him. He was very enthusiastic about his role as our guide. |He also made sure we were taken care of and aware of next steps throughout the two days. He made it very enjoyable for my wife and me.

A truly memorable experience in positive sense. The location is incredible in the middle of jungle, but still you feel safe and comfortable. An excellent base to make beach walks and boat trips. Not luxury, but everything works and is clean.

We loved Laguna Lodge. The river boat to get there was fun with the kids (although I'm glad we didn't have too much luggage as that was an interesting juggle) and the grounds of the lodge were gorgeous. Food was fresh and varied, and the tours we did that were included were also good. Our host, Juan, was incredibly accommodating and so friendly. |The kids loved the pool. The rooms were a little on the small side for 4 people, but it's something you can cope with for the location, friendliness of the staff and amazing amount of wildlife.

We had a fantastic couple of days in this amazingly beautiful place.||After the slightly chaotic boarding the boat trip - about an hour - via rivers and canals slicing through gorgeous rainforest - was so much better, and longer, than we expected. ||At the lodge the cabins, pool and grounds are stunning with river to one side and wild Caribbean to the other. Shame you can’t swim in either but the prospect of getting eaten by a croc or bullshark didn’t really appeal. Thankfully there’s a great pool to cool off from the serious |humidity. ||We did the turtle trip on the first night- if the weather looks good book there and then - and we all had an|Incredible time. Our guide Mario was brilliant at making sure we got in at the right place and time and we saw one turtle get all the way back from an aborted laying to the sea - which is rare. Then we got to see about 25 eggs laid by another turtle - our 10 year old was delighted to be sprayed with sand when she was covering them up. ||Also did the early boat trip, which we just managed to |persuade our girls to do,|followed by a later boat trip and despite going to similar locations we actually saw quite a lot of animals on each. ||Good wasn’t 5 star rated but plenty - and plenty of choice - for everyone.||Our main guide, Mario was fantastic and the boat captains were brilliant at driving the boats and spotting wildlife. Also had a guide called Fernando who was great. ||If you can, go to the town too to have a look.||Overall, we had an amazing experience!

Rooms were missing some important things that could be used by everyone such as Ac and hair dryer. The staff was really kind and helpful in moments of need. Food was amazing and pool was awesome. And in last but not least the "boat ride" there was fun and interesting and also the tour was super fun.

Set between the canal and the ocean, this hotel is only accessible by boat. It is also in the rain forest so humidity is very high. The rooms are in blocks around very nice gardens with wildlife all around. There are a couple of pools set in the gardens with towels provided. It is a very short walk to the beach but do not go into the sea and there is the chance of crocodiles and sting rays, we were advised to avoid the sea but to enjoy the beach. The rooms are clean and comfortable and there is mosquito netting up at all the windows. The rooms are reasonably basic, but we are in the rain forest - so don't expect air conditioning in the rooms. There is a big fan. The restaurant was very good and all our meals were a good variety. Drinks are a little expensive, but that is the case in most of Costa Rica. The tours from the hotel are amazing. The staff were very friendly and welcoming - we would recommend this hotel.
