We stayed here for the first time. Room 523. Excellent room. All the furniture and appliances seemed brand new. The bathroom was amazing. Giant shower, seemed newly updated. The view of the ocean is second to none. We saw sea turtles and monk seals swimming right in front of the hotel. The pool and hot tub are nice and cleaned daily. The only thing I’d change is adding amenities like a small store with food and drinks like most hotels have. Not a dealbreaker by any means. We walked to bars and restaurants nearby. Perfect location.

Room, staff, and overall stay were phenomenal and better than we expected! From arrival, the staff was warm and welcoming and even gave us a complimentary bottle of champagne as we were celebrating our honeymoon. The resort was always so clean and our room and view of the beach was perfect. I love that we were able to just walk out onto the beach everyday and were within walking distance of shops and restaurants. 10/10 would definitely recommend and would stay here again! With a small fee they also let us stay an extra full day since our flight was late at night. LOVED Lahaina Beach Resort and we miss it already! Can't wait to go back!

Great resort/hotel with amazing views. We stayed in the Penthouse room with the Mountain Views and it is incredible. Parking is free and is behind a gate. They give you a card to the gate so that you can come and go as you please. The back of the hotel has easy access to the beach which is perfect. You can go have fun at the beach and walk right back to your room to shower. There is also a pool for those who don’t want to get in at the beach. The staff here is very friendly! They made sure we have everything we need it throughout our state. The staff was easy to talk to and also had great recommendations of places on the island to visit. There’s also a concierge service which offers different excursions at a discount. Definitely a great place to stay when in Maui!

Really enjoyed our stay. It isn't a quiet part of the street about 200 ft or south from the start of Lahaina. So everything is within close walking distance. Property has a nice pool and hot tub and a gate that leads to the beach about 30 or 40 ft from the door of the property. Super nice people that work the front desk. Kitchen has full size stove/oven fridge, etc. Hallway carpets are a tad worn, but other than that, great place to stay.

Google
My room was beautifully decorated, special tile and artwork. The balcony overlooked the ocean and I had the view of the setting sun every evening, which was amazing! The service was always quick and helpful. The pool and spa and grounds are cleaned daily. You walk right out onto the beach. The snorkeling was amazing! I saw so many varieties of colorful fish and even a sea turtle. The water level is low enough that you can stand waist deep for some distance and I felt safe in the ocean. Shopping and restaurants are all walking distance. A bus service is nearby to take you to other sites on the island. I would highly recommended Lahaina Shores. What a wonderful experience!

Google
I truly enjoyed our stay here. The location is perfect 3 blocks from the marina and the downtown strip. Beautiful patio to sit out on and enjoy the ocean and the pool and hot tub. (The need to have beach chairs) But you can walk 2 blocks down and rent one pretty cheap. The room was wonderful the bar next door serves the best fish taco I have ever ate. Nice restaurants right next door to the hotel. My son enjoyed the water so much snorkeling, rafting, surfing, paddle boarding swimming all in the back yard. Surfing lessons right next door!

Google
Great place to stay in Maui, everything was walking distance which is awesome including restaurants, surfing schools, the pier to go boating/whale watching, etc. the cleaning staff was great. Pool was a little colder than we were used to but it felt refreshing after tanning in the sun. We had a full kitchen which had lots of amenities, the Mountain View was beautiful. The only con is the garage parking is feels small and smells pretty bad. But at least it’s free

Google
This is for all the Costco people out there. There are a few hotels that are much better options than this one for only 5 - 10% more. This isn't a resort but more like a Motel 6 on the beach. Some rooms have walk-in showers but showers are too small. You'll get water all over your floor. Convenient location and great service. However I definitely feel it is more of a 2 star hotel compared to 3. If you are booking this hotel individually, it might be worth it. However when I was looking through Costco, there were much better hotels for a few dollars more. I wish I went with that option instead.

Yelp
Quite a long while ago my husband and I stayed there a couple times a year for ten years. We rented from a private owner on the bottom floor with easy access to the beach, the pool and the hot tub. I loved being able to walk into downtown Lahaina to shop and stroll, or to go next door to the fine restaurants and spa located there. At night you could hear the Luau next door too. Sadly it is no longer advertised. Not sure how it was affected by the fire, but Lahaina Shores will always be one of my fondest memories.

Yelp
Old-school and classic Maui residence. Right on the beach. Everything is special. It is clearly the best hotel anywhere in the world that I've ever stayed. Employees and management are superior as well.

Yelp
My absolute highest praise goes to Lahaina Shores Beach Resort. We stayed for a week during 4th of July and plan to return annually - that's how in love I am with the place. The location is down town Lahaina, we had a rental but almost everything is within walking distance of this gem. Check in and check out was a breeze, the staff was always very welcoming and accommodating when needed. The pool is nothing fancy but the grounds are well manicured and the resort is clean. The beach access is the top highlight. You can step out of the pool and go strait to the ocean. We also were able to see 4th of July fireworks and a Luau from the beach. The aesthetic is vintage Hawaii. It's welcoming and charming with an at home feeling once you're settled in. I agree with the other reviews that the resort is outdated in certain areas in comparison to others but that's part of its charm. Our room was ocean side 5th floor - I'll let a picture of our view speak for itself. If you're looking for a stay you won't go wrong here. Thank you Lahaina Shores Beach Resort!

Yelp
You can't find a better value on Maui! Please prove me wrong. This is NOT a 5 star resort nor does it have the ammenities of a 5 star hotel. But it is 5+ Star value. I should mention I booked with Hyatt points which was incredibly low for an oceanfront hotel amd am ocesn view room. On top of that there wasn't a resort fee AND parking was free. Check in was fast & easy. Four elevators is more than enough fora small hotel. Was a little nervous walking the halls to the toom as the carpetwas stained but the room was beautiful. Full kitchen including dishwash & full size fridge. Tile flooring which is a must for beach front hotels. The bed was comfortable. The hotel was completely full but never felt that way. The pool is fairly small but there was never more than 3 or 4 people in it besides us. We were able to get in the hot tub a few nights all to ourselves. House keeping came every 3rd day, cleaned & restocked. It was exactly what we needed to relax at the end of our trip.

Yelp
This place is pretty amazing, it has Air Conditioning, is right on the beach, has laundry facilities, quick elevators, friendly front desk, decent pool, lawn with lounge chairs and outdoor showers. Yes, it's RIGHT next door to the Feast at Lele luau, so you can walk to it, and if your didn't book a table, you can walk the beach and watch the performances. Very walkable to Lahina shops, and your can grab a bus ride to Whalers Village shops. Our unit had a full kitchen and all the beach accoutrements that make your day pleasant, including beach chairs, beach umbrella, and Coleman cooler. The one giant negative for me, is the rocky beach. You can walk out 150 yards and the water will still be up to your stomach, and there are rocks all around you. I caught a case of rock rash, when a wave took me. The cool aspect of this beach is the propensity to see a sea turtle or two, or the occasional sleeping monk seal.

Yelp
An "old school" property that seems dated from the lobby but rooms (at least the one I stayed in) are updated. As many others have said, a great value that offers beach access, walkability, parking and a pool. The warning I have for those staying on the north side of the hotel is there is a luau next door almost every night so could potentially be noisy. The service here was very family oriented and friendly. I appreciated the low key vibe of the property. For example: you could park your car at the front while you bring your luggage up, and there are luggage carts you can borrow to bring up your things. The room: loved having my own studio and kitchen, and balcony facing the ocean. The beach here is shallow and has gentle waves for chilling out. Kitchen had almost everything you need (need to bring in your own cooking oil and spices) Would love to come back!

Yelp
We stayed at a private condo within this resort. Some of the units are operated by the actual hotel (Hyatt owned), some are private owners it seems. Our unit itself was fantastic - a studio on the 4th floor that overlooked the ocean. Props to our owner for a great stay. Separately, the resort itself seems to be an older property. It has a bit of a rustic charm to it, though the carpeting in the hallways could use some updating as well as the lighting/decor. However, the beach access and the outdoor areas more than make up for this in my opinion. You're steps away from the beach, and there's also a pool and hot tub on the grounds. Parking is a nominal fee, and the shops/restaurants/nightlife of Front Street are just steps away. Concierge on duty as well if that's your thing, and the service at the front desk seemed very helpful. We hadn't been to Maui before, but as far as our lodging goes we nailed the location.

Yelp
My wife and I have stayed in some really nice places around the world, and we both agree that this is absolutely one of the best. We booked an ocean-view room, and the view was spectacular! The room is equipped with a full kitchen, which was super nice because the restaurants in Lahaina are all way too crowded and way overpriced. We shopped at the local Foodland, prepared our own meals at a fraction of the cost of the restaurants, and ate on the balcony -- enjoying an amazing view while avoiding the frustrations of an hour-long wait for a restaurant table. The grounds are kept immaculate, the rooms are clean and well-appointed, the pool is lovely, the service is warm and friendly. As some have noted, there is a luau every night right next door, but it's really only noisy for about an hour. We slept with the sliding door all the way open, enjoying the sounds of the surf all night long. This place is peaceful and well worth what we paid. One other important note: There literally is zero parking available in Lahaina. the hotel provides an underground parking pass, which was really nice. We left our rental parked nearly our entire trip and simply walked into Lahaina daily, which again saved us loads of frustration.

Yelp
This was our first time in Maui and staying at Lahaina Shores was an awesome choice! Everything was clean and ready when we arrived, the staff is extremely friendly and accommodating, and the location is beautiful! The room kitchens were fully equipped AND had extra towels for when going to the beach. AWESOME! We loved how close we were to Front street, even with the drive it was great. The best part is the lobby area, once you go through the doors to their pool area you can go straight to the beach. Felt very relaxed, secured and enjoyable. We would def stay here again! Thank you Lahaina Shores for a great stay!

Yelp
Yes! We had a great time. This hotel was perfect. Walking distance from Lahaina front street stores and the boat harbor, 1 min walk to Banyan Tree. The rooms are well equipped and updated (mostly). Pool was nothing special, but that's why we picked this place, we never spend time in the pool anyways and always pay ridiculous prices for amenities we don't use. This place is quiet, great location, sunset view is excellent, great parking, and the staff is very nice. Laundry on every floor. Plus, there was a French press in our room as well as a coffee maker...what?! If you just want a small hotel with walking distance proximity to a lot of cool things, this is it. I get tired of hoofing it through the grounds of the larger resorts to get to my car or room, it bites into my maui time. Note: make sure you bring phone chargers, no USB support in room like other hotels, except on the cable box.

Yelp
Lahaina Shores Oceanfront Beach Resort was a nice boutique resort in Lahaina. The views are unmatched of the beach, Pacific, reef, Lanai Island, Lahaina Marina, and surf schools. The resort is clean and welcoming with a fresh "facelift" of the exterior. The pool and hot tub were amazing! The grassy area with lounge chairs overlooking the beach provided a nice, calm respite. The beach was nice for walks while searching for sea glass and snorkeling around the reef was fantastic. We even saw a Hawaiian Monk Seal frolicking along the waters edge. We enjoyed watching the beautiful sunset from the lanai or the lounge chairs. We also enjoyed listening to the luau next door each night. When we visit Maui again, we will definitely stay at Lahaina Shores Oceanfront Beach Resort!

Yelp
If all of the Hyatt owned establishments were lined up next to each other and location had nothing to do with the score of their review, the. This "resort" would be at the bottom of the list. I have been a Hyatt Globalist for several years and this is the worst building anywhere in the world with a Hyatt name on it. The staff are rude and lazy except the concierge , he was helpful. The rooms are full of cockroaches and the beds are so horrible I hardly slept in a week. The parking garage is dripping sewage from the ceiling and nobody seems to care. They claim that this is a resort but it's more of an overpriced AirBnB. They have Zero food and drinks on property so don't expect room service or even water. Every time you speak to the front desk they remind you when your checkout day ii, almost to rush you out. I would not suggest staying here unless you're look in my for the least amount of amenities and most overpriced on Maui.

Yelp
This is the perfect place to stay, right on the beach in Lahaina and with the best staff. Alison was my favorite the staff were all fabulous but Alison was the best. The location is phenomenal right on front street where all the stores and restaurants are and right on the beach. Our room was perfect and clean. Coffee was provided daily and the rooms were cleaned as often as we needed it. Everyone here is kind and hospitable. Thank you Hyatt Lahaina Shores Beach Resort.

Yelp
I booked in April and since all the Kàanapali resorts were full, this was our only Hyatt option. At the time, I was convinced we were settling. This is a really special spot. The hotel is clean and responsive to any requests. The beach is 30 feet from the back door and a side gate leads to the little shopping center right next door. We strolled into town daily for a coffee, breakfast, submarine ride, surf lesson, photos with the massive banyan tree. Unlike the huge resort place (we visited the resorts down the road and saw a screaming match between two drivers trying to park in a cramped parking garage in Kaanapali), we got to mingle a bit with local residents, see the scenery. It's a short drive to a full size grocer and the cocoa farm or sugar museum tours. The aquarium was a 10-minute drive away. Finally, one member of our group lost her designer wallet. Full of cards, cash, etc. We'd flown home, she'd torn the house up for a week looking for it, when we got a call from Lahaina Shores. Housekeeping was cleaning the room from the folks after us and found the wallet behind furniture. The hotel mailed it back to us. Every single card and all of the cash was still there. No weird charges on any of the cards. These are quality folks and we can't wait to come back.

Yelp
Rented VRBO here for four days. The location, views, amenities were provided (had to contact owner for washer/dryer access) and mostly functional but for the price paid, we were expecting luxury. Unit needs to be upgraded in several areas. Todays technology would dictate USB ports in bedroom and living area. TV's were small for size of rooms. Floors had chips in tile. Sliding doors both front and back had rusty locking mechanisms requiring heavy closing to engage locks. Locking mechanism on screen door not functional which wouldn't allow us to enjoy the ocean sounds overnight. Walk in shower stall needs retiling. Grout dark, looks unclean. However, staff was nice, grass lawn, pool and hot tub, ocean access and location to restaurants/bars and the rest of Lahaina was fantastic.

Yelp
We booked this through Costco Travel and the value was great since it was in an ideal location - had laundry facilities, free WiFi, private beach, was in walkable distance restaurants and shops, easy to get onto the main highway, and our room had its own kitchen and private balcony. The only complaint we have is that the shower was hard to contain - glass covered only half the shower so water was getting all over the bathroom floor despite how careful we were. We also found a stain on one of our clean towels. Other than that, we had a good stay and would recommend it to others!

Yelp
They are fighting people on canceling their rooms how horrible is this place saying they won't refund anyone and we can still go ... we finally canceled but from the lack of empathy I would never stay here again and no one should support this place

Yelp
Absolutely fantastic stay Jan - Feb 2020. We had a beautiful mountain view room. Be warned, I was awoken by chickens every morning at about 4:30-5:00 AM. I used my natural chicken wake-up call as a signal to go downstairs to watch the sunrise on the beach. Lovely room, perfect views, immediately on the beach. If I won the lottery, I'd buy a room here and move in permanently.

Yelp
This was my first time visiting Maui and I stayed here because I got a deal on Costco I did not know that this was going to be such a great experience when visiting the other end of Maui I realize that this is such a small boutique hotel and not filled with tons of tourists which I love the pool was never crowded the Jacuzzi was never crowded we had our ownPrivate beach area the staff was amazing and accommodating and the view outside of my balcony was priceless I had my own kitchen the ocean waves I could hear from my balcony they put me to sleep every night the hotel is right next-door to the best luau feast at Le le which you can drink unlimited and then walk back to your hotel. The hotel is also super close to everything walking distance to shops there's a secret bar next door

Yelp
Location location location... Wonderful Mountain Views We've all seen the ocean... lol Great staff.. thanks Chester... Rooms are minimal but nice. Rented thru Airbnb...shop for best value.. Walking distance to everything.

Yelp
Not the most luxurious resort in Maui but definitely a great value with all the amenities you would need (pool, hot tub, dishwasher, fridge, concierge, etc.) The amazing ocean view, easy beach access, and friendly staff make this place a joy to stay at. Definitely recommend if you want to spend less than $500 a night while still feeling like you're at a nice resort.

Yelp
It all depends on your unit! This review is based on the building as a whole, location, amenities, and staff. We always stay here and for so many reasons it's perfect. The prices can be startling (again based on unit) but the rest of it makes it worth it. Not a lot of kids (awesome for adults with no kids), right ON the beach and an ocean side room makes this too good to be true. The staff are always kind and helpful. Walking distance to everything you need and next door to some great eats. Whaler's store right next door is nice for little last minute needs. Smaller and more intimate than a big hotel or condo building so it feels so much less congested than most. Every unit has a kitchen so cooking is always a nice option if you don't want to go out. I would highly recommend this place to those with no kids and who want to feel separated from the crowds but easy to access if desired.

Yelp
We stayed in an oceanfront view studio. Pros: - Full kitchen with appliances, cooking ware and utensils are provided. - Beautiful ocean view. The ocean is right there! - Easy and close access to the beach - AC inside our room works well (this is necessary when it's hot and humid!) - Washer and dryer for laundry on every floor ($2.50/load, credit card) - Free parking at the front hotel parking lot. Spots are small, but you make it work. Cons: - Ants! We found little ants in our bathroom and kitchen. - Dirty pillow covers... twice even after housekeeping service. One was covered in black dirt after housekeeping service and one had stains upon our arrival. - Outdated hotel, although our room looks a little updated and has some charm? - Hallways and common areas inside the hotel are hot and humid! No AC. - Housekeeping is provided after your 3rd day of stay. You can always call to request items throughout your stay. - Small pool, but the beach is right next to you.. - Luau next door has a show every night and it's loud. We did a lot of activities throughout our time in Maui and fell asleep with ease, so this wasn't as big of a deal for us. Overall it was an okay stay that provided us with what we needed.

Yelp
Stayed 3 nights here mid summer. Booked on a Travelocity package with my flight and car rental. I wanted to be further North on the coast, but the pricing here made it too good for me to not consider. It's definitely the farthest south on this coast. All ships, restaurants, and other resorts are north of this location. I realised that Maui is definitely a very car rental dependent tropical island. Everything is more spread out than I was anticipating. The location is still decent. Just a 5 minute walk from all the shops and restaurants. They have an 8 ft deep pool between the resort and small beach. The beach runs behind all the business on the coast and is technically public to anyone. They also have a hot tub. To get access from the beach, you need to use your key card. Never really saw anyone on the beach as it is very small. Hotel is 7 floors high. We got what I would consider the 2nd best room in the whole place. Room 634. We paid for mountain view (a lot less than ocean view), but lucked out with the corner room that has a balcony on both corners and a partial ocean view. The only room I think would be better would be the room kiddy corner to the opposite side on the 6th floor. They would have an ocean view and partial mountain view. The 7th floor, looking from the outside, does not extend the full length of the building, so there wasn't anyone above us. Room is clean and spacious. Bed is comfy. Full kitchen was nice and helped us save extra $$. Shower worked well and provided an nice temp. Towels were not too scratchy. They give you both bath and beach towels. We got a nice logo beach bag upon arrival as well. Parking is conveniently located underground next door. Always found a spot easily, but it is a bit cramped under there. Front desk staff and concierge were very friendly and efficient. I only used the concierge once to rent snorkel gear, but we decided to rent from in town as it would be cheaper. One of my only small gripes was that housekeeping replaced my bath towel that I had on the rack. They even say to put the towel on the floor to have it replaced. I wrote them a note about this and how it is not energy efficient. For the price, I was pretty happy with my stay and would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone on a budget that still wants to be close to the action.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed here from 5/21/17 to 5/26/17. I booked a 2-island package from Costco Travel and this was one of the resorts I could pick from. Coming from the airport, you may encounter traffic along Honoapilani Hwy (30). They have an outdoor parking lot, but it's extra to park there. Guest are supposed to park in the underground structure next door where "The Shops at 505" plaza is located. There are rooms that have a view of the ocean, but ours had a gorgeous mountain view. Our room was partially updated. These are condos so the rooms come with a full kitchen (microwave, cookware, utensils, coffee maker etc.). There's also free Wi-Fi. There is beach access from the pool area so my husband and I walked back there a couple times during sunset which was nice. It's walking distance to many shops and restaurants along Front Street which was convenient, but we didn't actually hang around this area too much. Personally, the area is way too "touristy" and had a lot of higher end shops and even art galleries. I hate it when I'm trying to have a relaxing walk and there are people trying to sell me high end lotions etc. Overall, we had a nice stay here. All the staff we interacted with here were also very friendly. 51/100 Reviews 2017

Yelp
It's a good location and you can't beat being in Maui. However, one of the front desk clerks was extremely rude to us for the entirety of our visit and resistant to simple requests for beach towels or shampoo. Both are completely necessary during a beach vacation, so we were confused why the attitude. He wouldn't give us his name when we asked and hung up the phone during one of these calls. Sounded something like "Cyrillo". Won't be staying here again, despite the lower price compared to the resorts in Kaanapali and Wailea.

Yee-Huan N.

Yelp
First the positives: The AC works great, free parking (more on this), hotel is conveniently located in the town of Lahaina. I didn't see any bugs in the room. If you find yourself priced out of the nicer beachfront hotels/resorts on Kaanapali and Wailea, and you don't mind settling, this can be an option. However, as a long time Hyatt member, this property is a disappointment to the brand. 1. While parking is free, you have to park in an underground garage next door that smells terribly foul and you have to watch out for water leaking from above (I'm assuming it's water for the sake of my sanity) 2. If you're a Hyatt member, don't expect any Hyatt benefits at Lahaina Shores, such as early check in. At all the Hyatts I've stayed in, my request has always been accommodated when I notified the front desk ahead of time. So, best to treat this hotel as a non-Hyatt property to temper your expectations, because they don't extend the same benefits to you here. 3. The note in the room claims that the housekeeping is offered on the 4th day of stay, that didn't happen. I had to call front desk to remind them. 4. Pool is dirty. But this may not entirely be the hotel's fault, I saw many of the guests jumped into the pool after being on the beach without washing themselves prior. Thus, the pool was full of sand, dirt, and other junk. 5. Wifi wasn't working when we got to the room. Had to call someone up to fix it. 6. Room door was left ajar when we first checked in, made us a little nervous that someone else was in the room in the beginning. Not a feeling you want to have to begin your trip.

Yelp
Just beautiful. This hotel is even better in person. When you first enter the lobby, you're greeted with the ocean's fresh air and the light heartedness of the lobby and staff. My husband I weren't able to get an ocean view room, but I was equally as amazed with the mountain view room we got. I loved waking up to chirping birds and roosters since we left the lanai a little open in the early morning. It was a dream. The rooms are also condo style, very spacious, with a full sized kitchen for those who want to cook. Also, the bathrooms are beautiful. The hotel is located just a few steps from the beach and there is also a pool and jacuzzi. The staff is also very welcoming and kind. Perfect place to stay as it is also walking distance from everything in Lahaina or a short drive to Kaanapali Beach. Would definitely stay again.

Yelp
We had a fantastic stay at Lahaina Shores. We booked through Costco travel and stayed here for a week in November. Like any place you have your pros and cons, and for this hotel, my cons are merely for the sake of argument, and I'll be the first to admit I'm really nitpicking here. But for what it's worth (which isn't much) here goes: Cons: - The hotel had an isolated feel to it at times. The pool and beach were often fairly empty (not always though, I guess it all depends on what time of year you go and who's staying at the hotel that week). I'm sure for lots of people this is ideal. However for someone like me, and this is purely a personal preference, I prefer a little more action, I love to people watch, so if you fall in that category, then this hotel isn't the best place for that. - The hotel beach was on the narrow side and the ocean was shallow and rocky (don't even think of going too far out without water shoes), but if you're willing to walk far enough out in the water you can do some beginner snorkeling (I was even able to swim along a sea turtle one day WOO HOO!). Anyway, if you're looking to do a LOT of swimming/snorkeling/ride waves, you won't be able to do much of that that here. - Hotel in general is dated. I personally didn't even notice (apparently my wife did right away, but she watches HGTV all the time ha-ha) until we visited a couple of other hotels over on Ka'anapali. When we got back to Lahaina Shores I definitely realized at that point, oh yes, this place could definitely use a facelift. Pros: - Location, location, location! Besides the obvious of being right on the ocean, right next store is a little shopping center including a general store that had the basic food essentials and a couple of little restaurants, and then if you walked a few minutes on Front Street you had an endless choice of restaurants and shops to choose from. Definitely loved walking up and down Front Street every evening. - Having a kitchen in the unit was fantastic! Eating out in Maui can get extremely expensive, so being able to make breakfast in the room every morning, and an occasional lunch, was a great way to save a penny here and there. - That view...OH THAT VIEW!!!!!! We had an ocean view room and it was absolutely STUNNING!! If you can afford it, *definitely* spring for it. Every morning we woke up and looked out that window it truly felt like we were in paradise. Worth every single penny for that alone. All in all we would without question stay here again in a heartbeat! The pros significantly outweighed the cons in our book. The staff we dealt with were all delightful and courteous, the grounds were well kept, and the views obviously speak for themselves. Cheers/Prost/Salud!

Yelp
Great place. Hope they survived the horrible devastating fire. Nothing fancy but you can't beat the location or wonderful service

Yelp
Location is great if you plan on boating and going on tours as it is very close to dock. The room is only cleaned every 3 days which sucked but they were responsive when we broke a glass. The full size fridge was awesome! The worst part was the restaurant next door does their performance from 6:30-9 and it is extremely loud and takes away from the sunset.. which is a bummer considering you are paying for the view. The bed was equal to a couch pull out beach itself is extremely rocky. We ubered to other nicer beach men's

Yelp
I booked Lahaina Shores Beach Resort as a package deal on Costco Travel and when compared to the name brand hotels, an upgrade to the oceanfront view didn't cost a fortune. The room that my wife and I received was #523, 5th floor facing the ocean. The room was updated and very well maintained. The room had a comfortable bed and fairly new stainless steel appliances including a dishwasher (I've read that some of the units don't have dishwashers). This was important as we ate breakfast in and cooked dinner on a few nights. We used our lanai facing the ocean every chance we got including morning breakfasts, watching the sunset, and evening dinners. I wouldn't call this a fancy resort but the property just has an elegant feel to it. Maybe it's the colonial style building or the unobstructed views of the ocean but it was just nice to come back and spend time both outside on the property and inside the room. There were two excellent barbecues for use on the property which we made use of on a few nights. There was also a pool and a hot tub. The hot tub could probably use some renos but still adequate for our needs. The only complaint I would make is that the housekeeping was a bit inconsistent. The first two days we received fresh beach towels and had the dishwasher turn on for us while we were out. The next day there were no towels. The next few days after that there were no towels and they didn't turn on the dishwasher. Towards the end we turned on the dishwasher ourselves and had to hoard our beach towels that we received at the beginning of the trip or ask the front desk. On our second to last day we did receive beach towels again. They did a good job cleaning the rest of the room though. Our departing flight was late and unfortunately they didn't have any rooms for us to rent at a day rate due to high occupancy levels but overall, I would book this hotel again. My tip is to book a package on Costco Travel which ensures a great price on the upgrade to ocean front, an upgrade to your rental vehicle, and free parking. Seriously, book the ocean front and you won't regret it.

Yelp
We booked this property thinking about it's relative closeness to food and beach. This hotel is most definitely for those on a budget, because quality is simply lacking. The grounds are well maintained, as are the lobby, pool, etc. The areas are clean, however they are extremely dated and old. You can tell when you enter your floors hallway, old carpeting, cracked paint, a washer and dryer from 1965. I'm not saying I expected the Ritz, because I was completely aware the property was rated three stars. The rooms are decent, economy quality and we booked an ocean front room. I will say the view from the balcony was top notch, making waking up in the morning very pleasant. The maid service staff only cleans every three days, which was a HUGE reason for the low rating. If I didn't want service, I would've stayed in an Airbnb. Our room was FULL of sand at the end of each day because of beach hopping and just excursions in general. Showering was disgusting because our shower was constantly like being at the beach. Having to kick sand off my feet every time I wanted to get in bed just made me cringe. Obviously on an eight night stay, we only experienced cleaning twice... but holy sh!t they could have at least equipped us with more than two bath towels for THREE DAYS. I'm sorry, but after a day out hiking Hana or Haleakala or spending a day sweating in the sun, all I DREAM of is a shower and a FRESH towel. If I'm paying to stay in a hotel, I expect a fresh towel every single time I shower. We had to call for towels so many times, it felt so bothersome to the staff. Speaking of staff, the young woman at the front desk was so kind and friendly. I don't remember her name, however she was usually there mid day/into the night shift. The guy that worked in the mornings, not so friendly. Also, BEWARE if you're traveling back home late at night... they will not hold your suitcases in their back area behind the desk. The front desk told me to leave my luggage in the lobby (completely unattended). I have NEVER stayed somewhere where they wouldn't hold bags in a secure area and told me to leave my stuff in a public entryway where hundreds of random people would be passing by. All in all, it was fine... but not the best.

Yelp
The staff was wonderful from the start to end. They were friendly and helpful the entire stay. It was easy to check in and check out. NO issues. The pool area was clean and had easy access to the beach. The lawn was well kept as well as the patio furniture. My room was beautiful and I had a nice ocean view where I sat and watched the sun rise and set every day. The kitchen came fully equipped and I loved the walk in shower. This place is not a 5 star resort but definitely worth the value of one. There is free parking and easy walking distance from bars, restaurants and a Luau nearby and even with all that it is very peaceful. There are washers and dryers for a small fee so you can go home with clean clothes which was nice. Maid service is every 3rd day but if you need clean towels or a fresh beach towel you can call and get them daily. I loved this place and will definitely be back one day and will definitely recommend others to go here !!!

Yelp
Let's start by saying that everything in Maui is quite expensive from parking to food to activities to accommodations ... With that said, this hotel was relatively decently priced for what we were getting. At 165$/night for stay and 8$/night for parking, our total was about $782 for both of us for about 5 days, 4 nights. The hotel came with microwave, stove, refrigerator, dish washing soap, pots, pans, cups, and a coffee maker which is nice for leftover food. There is also a dryer and washer on each floor outside by the elevator. There are about 7 floors with some rooms more renovated than others. You can choose from mountain view or ocean view. There is a shared pool and Jacuzzi downstairs but this is no resort like the Westin or Hyatt/Hilton. We got the mountain view on the 6th floor and it comes with a small patio which overlooked the parking lot and mountains and it was beautiful! The tiles and carpet are out of date as well as the bathroom but was functional and clean. No smoking odor and TV was LCD screen. The parking itself was underground with a low ceiling and a weird mildew smell but always had parking spot at all hours with a parking attendant that intermittently visits. Overall, I was happy with our stay for the price. Wish they would renovate some more and upgrade some of those tiles and carpet and put in some nice lighting and pendants for the bathroom and kitchen!

Yelp
I stayed at this place for 3 nights. While the floors, kitchen and linens are super clean, the fans and AC is incredibly dusty. I had an asthma attack the first night from having the AC on. It was 80 degrees that night. The second and third night we decided to just suffer because I didn't want another attack. We also couldn't put the ceiling fan on because of the dust. If the view wasn't so nice outside, I would have given this 1 star. There's no soda machine, food or anything so be prepared for that as well. The stores also close at 8.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed in room 428, January 1-9th 2013. Here is the deal, the units are all owned privately, some owners opt in to have their units rented out by the 'hotel' and some are rented privately. If you book thru the hotel there is daily maid service, if it through the owner (at least in our case) no daily cleaning. The hotel lobby was clean and the staff is friendly. The pool is prettier in person than in photos, but was too cold for my taste. The location is awesome! We walked to dinner almost every night. See my list about Maui to read my detailed reviews. In short some of our favorites were Spankys (sports bar next door), Kimo's (restaurant), and Cool Cat Cafe (burger place). Parking was only $3.50 a day. The beach was nice, not too rocky and had a long stretch where you can walk. On to our room..... Here is the link to VRBO http://www.vrbo.com/99458 We paid $135/night, a bargain for high season in Hawaii. It was sufficient for what we needed and the bed was comfortable enough. It looked like the kitchen and bathroom had been recently fixed up. We had a mountain view room, and I was not willing to pay another $50 a night to get ocean view. The location is why we chose the hotel, I prefer to spend less on accommodations and more on food. If you are expecting something plush and fancy, this is not your place. If you are looking for a clean affordable place to stay look no further.

Yelp
The room was clean and big. Good WiFi and cable tv. The sliding glass door with the Mountain View was awesome. The ocean side is gorgeous. Okay little beach front. Good beach towels and outside shower area. Pool and jacuzzi. We saw a seal sleeping on the beach. They surprised us with a bottle of wine and card for our anniversary. That was sweet. Located in a cute little town. Aisake and Bill were great at the front desk at night. Very welcoming and helpful. Now for the ugly part of this review. The mattress we had in room 504 was terrible. One side is completely worn out. Needs replacing. Can't sleep in since so much construction noise in the morning. They say it starts at 8am but I was hearing it starting at 6:30. Could have been neighbors though. The furniture doesn't look bad it just looks like an old style. Parking is underground if you have a small car it's not a problem we did not have a small car. They have a great main parking area that has a waiting list so be sure to ask to be on the list right away. Sadly, we weren't added to the list. They have a Expedia Concierge however they get in like 8 and leave at 5 I never could get in to ask a question. Always busy and people waiting. We ended up booking our own excursions so we couldn't use the $25 off coupon the hotel gave. The daytime front desk staff was not friendly or helpful. Also asking for Late checkout seems to be a problem which sucks when you have a very late flight back. The daytime front desk people couldn't be bothered to help me with a solution. They do have some helpful solutions but I was told by the night crew too late to help for our check out the next morning. Be sure to give them at least one of your card keys when you checkout. Never have I been asked for a card key to be handed back in. So that was annoying to have to find that when we were on our way out.

Yelp
This place is very old. The air conditioning broke the 2nd night of our stay. Carpet is from the 1970's and smells needs to be updated. Hot tub and pool are from the 70's. Its more for senior citizens then young couples. Also, we put up the privacy sign and they still came in, went thru our stuff, and cleaned the room and put the privacy sign inside to make it look like we never put it out. Do not recommend, stay elsewhere

Yelp
Ok, so I just came back from Maui, settled back into my routine, and am beginning to reminisce about my amazing vacation. Here we go! We arrived at the resort before the check in time but our room was not ready yet. They resort staff were very nice and held our luggage while we had lunch (at Paia fish market- which was delicious) then within an hour our room was ready. The room had a queen sized bed (which could have been better) and a fully functional kitchen. The room had a balcony with huge sliding doors and the view was amazing. If you want to be close to the water you cannot beat this place. This room had everything you could need including beach towels, daily maid service, and AC. In terms of location, this resort is right on the water, like RIGHT ON THE WATER! If you want close daily beach access then this is the place for you. One negative part about this resort is that there are a few locals that hang out across the street and in a nearby park that look kind of sketchy. To put it into perspective there was an older woman who slept in a nearby church park who was walking around on the beach area talking to herself as she flopped around in the water with her dog. Honestly, it provided us some entertainment and wasn't out of the ordinary living in California's Central Valley so for us wasn't a big issue. Aside from some local grifters, this resort is on front street within walking distances to a bunch of shops and restaurants. The pool area is well groomed with lounge chairs, tables, bbq's, a small pool, and spa. Everything was very clean and well managed. Our room was completely remodeled and the tv even had internet which connected to Netflix and Hulu. I would definitely stay here again and recommend this to others. The reason I am giving this resort 4/5 stars instead of 5/5 is for the following reasons: -hallways to the rooms are so dark and dingy (you are going to read this and think I am a "complainer" but seriously those hallways are dungeons) -grifters around the resort (I don't want to see sketchy people yelling at the wind while I'm on vacation in paradise) -I wish there was a consistent Hawaiian theme. Most of the workers just say "hi" instead of "aloha" and there aren't ukuleles playing everywhere or tiki torches around the property. I like that cheesy stuff so I missed that this time. Other than that my trip was awesome. If you want a beachfront property with amazing views, full kitchen, and nearby restaurants/shops then definitely stay here. If you are looking for the "movie" Hawaiian experience with a lei greeting, hula dancers, and tiki torches then consider a more touristy location in wailea or Kaanapali. Now for the price: I booked a package through Costco travel and stayed at this resort in a premier ocean front room. The package included flight, hotel, and rental car for 6 nights and the package was $2300 for me and my husband. Upon checkout we didn't haven't any fees for parking, cleaning, or resort use- the package accounted for everything! I. Terms of food spending it was about $1200 but we ate at some pretty amazing places like Pacific'o (right next door) Fleetwood's on front street (down the street) and Monkeypod (up the road in Kaanapali) all which were pretty pricey but worth every penny!

Yelp
The rooms were clean and grounds tidy. However it was not what we expected, the luau next door was very noisy and went well into the evening making it difficult to sleep. Lahaina itself has really gone down hill, no longer a charming seaside village. Be advised if you plan to come to HI soon and want to dine out make your reservation well in advance. We came for the flora, fauna and lush tropical vibe, non of that found here.

Yelp
Friendly staff and clean rooms. It's seems the rooms are owned by individuals (like a condo) but laid out and taken care of like a hotel. Whether you have a mountain or beach view, you'll be satisfied. Every room has a full wall sliding glass door with a porch, so you aren't missing out on your outside time. No continental breakfast or food available in the resort, but it's a 2 min walk to a little general store that has an abundance of snacks and small store items. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and felt it was a quiet place to stay.

Yelp
This is the place to go if you want to get away from all of the people in the resort areas. It is simple but nicely maintained. Had an oceanfront room which was awesome. It appeared to have been recently updated. Only downfall was a bed that was not super comfy for 2. Lahaina town shops and restaurants are a short walk away. 505 Front St was a shopping/restaurant area with gate access between the hotel and property at 505.

Yelp
I cannot imagine a better place to stay. We stayed for two weeks in a "Premier Studio mountain view" room. Which was really perfect: well equipped kitchen, dishwasher, air condition, a safe in the room. A coffee maker and coffee was available at all times. The room service was excellent. We have not seen an unfriendly face once during our stay. It never got too crowded at the pool area or at the beach behind the hotel. At no point we had to worry about finding a chaise lounge at the pool. The ocean behind the hotel has really low waves. Its perfect when you like swimming better than surfing. It is in walking distance to Lahaina, there was always enough parking available and there is a great place for breakfast next door.
