Yelp
Truthfully, this should be a 4.5 stars but you cannot do 1/2 stars (Yelp, please fix that ). Please keep in mind, This owner kept the same chef and paid his employees throughout Covid and the time that the restaurant was closed. That is amazing!
Because I am honest in reviews the reason being is because this new building is super loud and echoes...fix that and it's a full 5+ stars. But I'm not gonna drag it down by giving it 4 stars.
That being said...my Aunt Joan and her husband Rob have come here for years (prior to the very unfortunate fire they experienced) they've always raved, as well as my Mom! I finally got to experience it for myself since they've opened again about 2 weeks ago. Phil, the owner is an absolute GEM. He remembered my Mom, was so welcoming and kind to me. That totally made up for the very vanilla look of the restaurant (please remember they just opened back up)...anyways. It's hard to get reservations here so call in advance!!! We got in (luckily) at 7:30pm and had a drink at the bar. A little bit about this bar, this was his fathers bar from a former bar that used to be in Butte, Montana... He took that bar refinished it, and is now using it in his restaurant. It is absolutely beautiful! Please pay your bar tab before you go to your table, that just helps the bartenders and waitresses keep track of things!
My mom and I had the tenderloin tips, she had a salad and I had their chicken bacon, ranch soup. I also ordered their salmon and my mother ordered their version of the fillet which is bacon wrapped. We both shared the twice baked potato, and had their Swedish cream for dessert! Our food came out super fast and our waitress was ridiculously kind and friendly! We were told to try the Swedish cream, and she mentioned she did not know if there's any left, so I asked her to please, if there was any left, save us one, because that is what we were told we had to absolutely try. Anyways, the tenderloin tips are absolutely delicious. We got it with a gremolata but I actually prefer day with a blue cheese. My mom is not a big fan of blue cheese, so I was able to get that on the side and she had the gremolata while I had the blue cheese. It was absolutely delicious, the tenderloin tips were perfectly cooked and the sauces were amazing, this is slightly spicy, but a nice spice.
We've now moved onto the salad, which had a huckleberry sauce, which is the only thing I tried and was delicious. I also had the chicken bacon ranch soup, which was very tasty. The bread that they give you is also very delicious however, I wish the butter was not cold when it came out. I prefer my butter to be spreadable. My mom is bacon wrapped tenderloin (which I guess has taken place of the fillet?) was perfectly cooked to a medium rare, the bacon was a little less crispy than we would've desired... It was more on the just cooked enough side, so we did not really eat that. My salmon was perfectly cooked and perfectly flavored with the huckleberry sauce! The twice baked potato was good, how we both decided we could do without that and hers probably taste a little better. But it was still very tasty. If you decide to get, that is a choice. The Swedish cream was amazing. It was very silky. It had a fruit sauce, and it was delicious! So you will not go wrong if you get that!
All in all the food totally makes up for the fact that, while this is not a new establishment it's a newly built establishment. They don't have all the pictures they used to have.... they don't have all the charm yet, but Phil brings the charm, and his chef brings the food. Overall you will not be disappointed! So please go out of your way try this really awesome restaurant and make sure you tip your waitress really well!
