Lahout's - America's Oldest Ski Shop

Bought a pair of Carhart work pants. The price was decent. Overall it looks like a lot of other stores in the area. Nothing too special, except that i can say that i was in the oldest ski store in the US. Love the back story!

The store feels like a ski museum, featuring a vast inventory of ski apparel. The owner was very friendly, shared stories about his family business, and offered suggestions for great places to visit in the area.

Layout's has a little of everything for the outdoors, including fun t-shirts and stickers that are also souvenirs. They have a great sale rack too. Definitely visit!

Nice place to shop for all your winter clothes and boots , they carry a perfect variety of all the top brand names. I bought a pair of keen boots from this location and I am very picky about my boots. These are the best boots I have ever owned. Bought my son a pair of bogs , he is extremely happy with them. I got special one-on-one help being fitted for new hiking boots. And after making my purchase we saw a rain shower blow through followed by brilliant sun, which caused a rainbow 🌈!!

HORRIBLE experience here yesterday. Did a day hike to lonesome lake. When I got down - noticed that my Teva sandals were falling apart. Decided to make a run north to Littleton to patronize this classic location for replacements. Went in looking for exactly what I had - and was quickly directed to it by the gentleman working down there. Put the new ones on and put the old ones in the shoe box. Went upstairs and straight to the register to finish my $110.00 purchase. It had been a great day, I was giddy. Then? I asked nicely if they would throw away the box containing my old shoes. The answer was a brusque and unqualified NO. Not an I'm sorry we don't do that. More of a you're dead to us NO. From patron they're glad to accept $110.00 from to pond scum in like five seconds? A second lady lamely offered that they had "already taken the trash out". I was stunned. I apologized for the apparent temerity of my request, though I honestly have no idea why it was offensive. I left with new sandals on my feet but an overwhelming feeling of insult and abuse. I hope this last sale was worth it to you.

Lahout's is my favorite ski stores in White mountain area. For the last 20 years I've been shopping there because they have excellent inventory, outstanding service, and very reasonable pricing

The store itself was pretty cool, but the guy working there could not have been ruder. He was being really nasty to a young woman whose dog had an accident and just had an overall bad attitude. Very uncomfortable experience, definitely not worth it.

Great family owned business in the north country. If you're a local or out of state visiting, you need to visit one of the Lahout's locations.

Outstanding service. Went in to get advice on some old classic Nordic skis we rediscovered in the garage attic. Nick the ski tech went over the top to advise us on how to get them refurbished, upgraded and ready to use. All his suggestions were useful, affordable and made with our interests in mind. Lahouts has earned our loyalty!

I was searching dozens of ski shops looking for a particular pair of Tubbs snowshoes. I talked with a lot of nice people and ski shops in VT, NH, and ME. Along the way I cam across Lahouts, and talked with Nick. He was very gracious and went out of his way to check inventory as well as upcoming orders. He was responsive in calling me back and helped me find the snowshoes I had been looking for, as well as providing good old fashioned customer service. Thank you Nick!

I live in the area, but found exactly what I was looking for on the Lahouts.com website. Like the earlier reviewer, Susan complemented the online experience with personal attention and service. The item was spot on. Ship-to-store was immediate (I picked it up less than 24 hours after I placed the order.) And the pick-up experience was perfect. The stores (there are three in Littleton and, I think, three in Lincoln) are cool to walk around in. Shopping online at their website was about as close to being served in person as I could imagine.

I do a great deal of online shopping and I was looking for a red half-zip spyder sweater and found one at lahouts.com. Their price was the best I could find anywhere for this specific item. I had a promo code and placed an order for the sweater. Shortly thereafter, I received an email from Susan Lahout informing me that they didn't have that item in stock. Let me tell you, Susan Lahout bent over backwards to help me. She pulled another color from stock and held it in the event I wanted it. I did and I ordered an alpine blue sweater. I was still allowed to used my promo code and Susan threw in free shipping. The sweater normally retails for $99.00 plus tax and I got it shipped to my door for $63.00. I could not be happier. Susan must have emailed me three times to ensure I was happy with the transaction. The item arrived approximately three days after I ordered it. I can't remember the last time I received such amazing customer service. I will shop here often and I recommend that you check out their web site.
