I called in advance to learn about insurance offerings for WCB as I am switching providers. I mentioned my history and asked if authorization is needed before a visit. I was told to hold on, for them to check and get back to me. The representative stated it is not needed as I have it from the other clinic I can just come in and provide the information. I arrived as scheduled and was told to fill out paperwork and then notified that an authorization is needed prior to visit. When I questioned why I was told to come in, the representative admitted he made a mistake. This is NOT why I am giving a one star. I was told since I am here I can have a consultation. Mistakes are human, this part can be miscommunication.
So I met the acupuncturist and she repeated an authorization is needed and I said I am aware, should I leave and come back after we sort this out? She said lets have a consultation for free and proceeded to the consultation room where the Acupuncturist told me about 15 times that an authorization is needed for the visit. She read my papers asked me where the site of injury is, if acupuncture helped me in the past. Then told me another 5-8 times an authorization is needed. No discussion of plan, no assessment of injurious areas, no discussion of pain. To get her to stop repeating that I need an authorization, I had to remind her that I came in at behest of her staff, I am quite a busy woman and I would not have come to waste my time. This is why I give it one star!
No actual consultation, whole experience was a waste. They lost me as a potential customer who works in healthcare and could have given many referrals.
