Incredibly rude staff — a real disservice to Lai Chan’s legacy. I greeted the staff member with a friendly “hello,” but she was immediately dismissive. When I asked about the fabric content of the dresses, she simply replied “tweed” and then looked me up and down condescendingly. Anyone with basic fashion or textile knowledge knows that tweed is a weave/style, not a material. It can be wool, cotton, acrylic, or blended fibres. Not knowing this is one thing — but being rude and arrogant while giving incorrect information is another. What’s worse, she later claimed the dress was cotton when the fabric clearly looked and felt like polyester. There were no material labels on the garment either. It’s disappointing to see a boutique associated with such an iconic local designer being represented by staff who are uninformed, unhelpful, and unnecessarily rude. It reflects poorly on the brand and the legacy it’s supposed to uphold

wasnt surprised to see the reviews on the service (or lack thereof). Came in when the staff had finished attending to a previous customer who had walked out. Staff seemed friendly to the previous customer who has bought something but totally ignored us (maybe because we seemed younger?). We had to approach the staff ourselves, who then made zero effort in introducing the brand or its different products, every question we asked was met with a curt single word reply. Hard to support local when local brands are fronted by stuck up elitist staff. Ruins the brand and designer's image.

Beautiful garments and impeccable services. I purchased a ready to wear cheongsam for my ROM. The shop provides free alteration service, done by Mr Eddie Goh. Apart from alteration, Mr Goh also shared with me tips of how to wear it nicely with shape wear etc. It was my first cheongsam experience and I really appreciated Hiroko and Mr Goh’s help. They are both polite, gentle, and considerate. Thank you for making it an enjoyable experience.

Knew about this brand long ago and was happy to chance upon the store. Was admiring the pieces when an auntie store assistant approached me. When enquired about the price of a piece, she initially said $300 (much to my surprise) then corrected herself. Shortly after, I wanted to take one photo of the dresses for future reference and to share it with my husband, but was stopped by her. I was yet again surprised, as I don’t suppose there is anything confidential about dresses displayed on racks? She said I had to ask her first. At this point I had lost all interest in the dresses. This encounter had tainted my impression of the brand and all the good works hitherto. I walked away with a bitter aftertaste.

Bad sales service by lady- dresses are all not lined despite the hefty price tag. told me I was too small- she didn’t have xs available. When I asked her if there was lining she said oh but I won’t have white currently only purple. Very dismissive and clearly only interested in the other customer. Real pity as I even brought my husband down to help me choose a piece.

Very classy dresses and qipao but bad services provided by the lady in store. Did not offer any assistance when I entered the store and was very condescending the entire time. Was clearly more ‘interested’ in the other customer in store as she completely ignored me until I asked for assistance.

Just bought a cheongsam and am very happy to hear they offer complimentary alterations, you can change the gemstone buttons and add on embellishments as required.

As classic or as contemporary as you like it.
