Ok, so I'm a big fan of the UWS store. The salesperson there is not friendly but also really helpful. I took a friend to the village store for the first time, and it was awful.
The woman was incredibly rude to us the entire time, and insisted on fitting my friend into bras that were so small they hurt her. I understand that many American women wear the wrong size, and that stores like Laina Jane need to make a show of "sizing you properly," but my friend was wearing something quite close to a perfect size already, and was condescended to when she said the options she'd been given were uncomfortably small. Any question my friend asked, the saleslady snapped at her with a rude reply.
Meanwhile, the salesperson never asked me if I wanted help--and while I was primarily there so my friend could find a bra, I'm the person she could have gotten to spend a ton of money on a cute set. So that was weird and unfortunate for her.
So basically I wandered around looking at nighties while I listened to my friend be treated incredibly poorly. I wasn't surprised when she came out of the fitting room looking annoyed and not wanting to buy anything.
I'm super into the idea of walking into a boutique and being told what you *really* want by a knowledgable bra salesperson, but this was ridiculous.
