The Hotel experience overall is very positive, ranging from stunning landscapes enjoyable from the facilities, to very well equipped rooms. The Sky View bar is also very much worth the experience. Above all, it is the kindness and availability of the staff that makes the stay unique.

We stayed at Lakaz Chamarel last week to celebrate our wedding anniversary and it was wonderful. From the moment of arrival to our departure, the stay was outstanding.||The location itself is special. Perched on a hill way up above the island’s south east coast, you are surrounded by unique fauna and flora. We nearly stepped on a Panther Chameleon (the only type to be found in Mauritius). We also spotted a mongoose, an oriental garden lizard and beautiful birds (like the abundant red-whiskered bul bul) - all around our lodge. From the View Bar next door we watched the island’s huge flying foxes gliding around at sunset too.||We stayed in the Piton Rivière Noir chalet. We had our own infinity pool - from where we could look down to the sea - unforgettable. We were just a few steps from the path up to the summit of Piton Canot. Although a strenuous climb, the reward at the top was quite something.||It’s a very peaceful place too and, as part of our package, we enjoyed a coconut body scrub, a massage and a couple of henna tattoos. The yoga session was good too - everyone felt welcome, regardless of experience.||The meals were also top quality. We enjoyed the dorade and ruby snapper - everything so well seasoned too. It was here that we tried the local lychee wine - you should try it - semi-sec and perfect for the tropical food.||What made the stay especially memorable was the warmth of the team who works there. We want to give a special thank you to Peggy and Thierry (the location managers). Peggy ensured that our late arrival would soon be forgotten by walking us over to our dinner table and letting us know we could complete the check-in formalities the next morning and Thierry was a gem too - offering helpful advice and offering us a late check out (and lunch) to make up for the time we missed due to our missed connection in Dubai. Thanks for the beautiful anniversary gift too! We’ll treasure it.||10/10. Perfect.

A beautiful lodge in a stunning tropical garden setting. The staff are exceptionally friendly and welcoming. The rooms have individual character and are a generous size and comfortably furnished in an appealing rustic style, and each has its own plunge pool. The restaurant serves an excellent menu of delicious dishes, different every day.|For a first visit to Mauritius you cannot do better. Small children are not welcome however.

Peaceful, beautiful tropical gardens and grounds. |You can be as secluded and private as you choose. |The staff were cheerful, hardworking and attentive and the food was very good. I especially loved the array of fresh tropical fruits at breakfast.|Seriously, what else can I say but, for me, it's been paradise. |Thank you, Lakaz Chamarel!

A good reconnection with nature. So peaceful and a wonderful view of piton canot from our villa cardinal. It was a spacious and comfy villa for our family of 4. An unforgetable experience with very friendly staff. Highly recommended for nature lovers.|Special mention for Thierry who was always checking with us if everything was good.

The lodge is superb, and every member of the staff goes above and beyond to cater to every request. The villa and suites offer spectacular views, and the Sea View Bar is truly the icing on the cake – a must-visit! A dream come true. The luxury resort situated in Mauritius's best kept secret. It is a magical place in the middle of nature. Each lodge has its own signature. What they do have in common is luxurious interiors and (most of them), private swimming pool. The sevice is very high standard as is their kitchen. |Lakaz... I will be back... 😀

My wife and I had an unforgettable stay at Lakaz Chamarel last Thursday. We stayed in one of the pool villas, and it was nothing short of amazing—pure tranquility and luxury in the heart of nature. The villa was beautifully designed and offered complete privacy with our own pool. We also made sure to visit the view bar, and the experience was breathtaking. The views from up there are absolutely incredible, offering panoramic sights of the surrounding landscape. The service was impeccable, and the entire atmosphere made for the perfect getaway. Highly recommend!
