We had a great day out on Lake Baikal and it is not just beautiful but has an astounding history as world’s deepest and oldest freshwater lake and amazingly contains about 20% of the world’s unfrozen fresh water. It is estimated to be around 25-30 million years old and home to thousands of species of plants and animals. We were told that it holds significant cultural and spiritual importance for the indigenous Buryat people.

The place you must go in your lifetime!! Lake Baikal - the deepest, largest, oldest lake in the world!! I joined the trip to this amazing place on 27/2/2024, enjoyed the spectacular view of blue cracked ice texture and even had lunch on the lake at -20 degrees Celsius, just so crazy but awesome! Every single moment in Lake Baikal is precious and memorable!

Holds more fresh water than all the 5 great-lakes combined, thats some big flex!

Mind blowing place... I can't believe why we didn't come earlier. (Thanks covid for the push 🙃 ) If you want to see extreme nature, amazing landscapes, travel in crazy bans over the ice, have great homemade lunch/picnic in the ice.. Come! This is MustDo for everyone in Russia!
