Room was dirty, rubbish behind the toilet & mold in bathroom. Requested a new room which was no better. Dirty coffee cups & ash trays over flowing outside of room. Pool was filthy & property is poorly maintained. Person at reception spoke very poor english. We did not stay & were refused a refund. Much better accommodation elsewhere in Forbes

Disgusting dirty hotel. Stay away. Outside my room was a large bucket of cigarette butts and two large trolleys of dirty laundry. When I asked the receptionist who could hardly speak a word of English, she told me they were the cleaners cigarette butts. There must have been six months worth. Then when I entered my room there were used milk containers on the bench. The two garbage bins were full of rubbish from the last guest. The shower had the last guests soap and face washer sitting in the soap dish. I was lucky to get clean sheets I suppose. They need to sack their cleaner if he or she thinks it's acceptable to leave a large bucket of butts right at the entrance to the rooms with all the dirty laundry. We checked in at 6 pm so they had been there for a long time.

Clean and tidy. Fresh quality sheets. Room showing some wear and tear but did not bother us. Room has A/C, fridge, toaster and kettle. Nice cold pool (mixed chlorine and salt) that's open late (but double check with reception), a little small but perfect for a dip to cool off in the heat. Situated next to road with trucks going past but the sound was not loud and did not wake us up. 2mins walk to nearby brand new curated parkland area/ large fountain area with ammenities.

I chose this motel due to the close proximity (next door) to a park for the children to play as well as the walking track along the lake. Rooms are large, and comfortable. Its cold outside, but the reverse cycle air-conditioning kept us warm. Has basic kitchenette; microwave, toaster, kettle, fridge.

Currently here for another two nights. Upon arrival, food left in microwave for maybe a few days. Freezer had food in it, the bin was full. The second day I left the tag on the door so the room can be serviced while we were out. It did not get serviced, we were just hoping for clean plates and cutlery. I went to reception to ask for new ones. The lady barely understood what I was saying. I finally got some plates, etc. I asked where do I put the dirty ones? She could not tell me. So they were left in the room to pile up for a few days. After our second night, I piled all the dishes and cups, cutlery up. Took it to the office. She did not know what I wanted. I asked if I can swap for clean ones. She said that they did not have any. She eventually gave me two plates and some spoons. I asked for a butter knife. She said they don’t have any. I am staying here with young children. I give them toast and or cereal in the morning. From reading some of the recent reviews not a lot has changed. The large bucket of cigarettes is still there, there are cups etc sitting out the front of people’s doors since I got here on Wednesday. The pool was dirty, and it was ‘getting cleaned’ I haven’t seen a bbq area and there is barely any parking. You get half a roll of toilet paper, there is no room service. The coffee and tea etc is a one off thing, you do not get a top up even if you stay here 4-5 days. I have stayed at many places, this is the worst for customer service, language barrier or not, if someone comes to you with dirty dishes and asking for clean ones, it doesn’t take much to put two and two together. There is nowhere to wash them yourself. And yes I did ask is there somewhere I can was it and I got blank stares. I am now washing dishes in the bathroom using our dish liquid we had to buy. Also note there is no LAUNDRY FACILITY as advertised! I asked where I can do laundry and she said they don’t have.

We stayed here last night 22/8/25, rooms are small but very clean. Unfortunately ours and 2 other cars were broken into (windows smashed) and items taken. Understand it is not the proprietor's fault, but please be aware if you stay at Lake Forbes Motel do not leave any visible bags in your car.

For an overnighter, it was fine. Clean and tidy older style room, small but had everything that was needed for a short stay. Recommended.

'Dear guest, your booking has been cancelled'. This was an email from Lake Forbes Motel via Booking.com just days out from our expected arrival. I had made the booking for 4 adults back in April for the date of Fri July 18. I replied via the site saying , 'no we wish to keep the booking'. Another email arrived some days later and on the day of our booking I called the motel. I was simply told, 'there has been a double booking and we have cancelled your booking'. How did this happen? Did someone book before me way back in April? Highly unlikely. The person I spoke to wasn't apologetic at all. No assistance was offered in finding suitable accommodation as a replacement. Instead we were left with a couple of hours left before dark to scramble and find somewhere in another town. I would have expected a phone call from them to inform me of the situation, not an impersonal email. Might I suggest you look up the words 'hospitality' and 'customer service'. I have traveled the world and Australia for over 40 years and this was the worst examples of that.
