Rocky Gap State Park, Maryland, Guide

"This 243-acre, spring-fed lake is famed for having some of the bluest water in the state and serves as the park’s recreational centerpiece. Fed by a local run, it permits electric boats and paddle sports year-round (24/7), offers fishing throughout the year with trout popular in summer and ice fishing for yellow perch in winter, and even features an underwater scuba diving trail. Multiple beaches and designated roped swim areas welcome dogs, rentals allow pets with life jackets available, and water-sport lessons make it a top spot for kayaking, paddleboarding and casual boating." - Trudy Haywood Saunders Trudy Haywood Saunders Trudy Haywood Saunders is a writer and editor based in North Carolina. Its a hidden gem. Great place for family day out and barbecue. Small but clean nice beach. You can rent a kayak $30 an hour or launch your own . Endless picnic tables and so clean . I would definitely go again . It was 2 hours drive for me but it was well worth it.

Over 200 of beautiful acres of water. Clean and not crowded lake on a Labor Day weekend. They charge 7 dollars per vessel to launch. They also have paddle boards, kayaks, and canoe rentals. The fishing was fun as well.

We took a short stop by the lake on our way home from WV to NJ. It’s really beautiful although fall foliage was not at its peak time yet. There’s a lakeside loop trail you can hike on. There are also some pavilions and beach, boat dock. A young man just caught some rainbow trouts from fishing.

Beautiful lake with a great beach and swimming area. The lake has 3 public beach areas. There are hiking tails and campsites as well. The lake has a maximum depth of 74 ft and is approximately 243 acres in size. The lake has about 9.4 miles of shoreline. Within walking distance is a hotel and casino too.

Love hiking around Lake Habeeb. Absolutely beautiful!!! There is a trail called, "Lakeside Loop Trial". 5.3 miles, but anybody who loves hiking, would love this trail. Excellent swimming area to. Check out Monkey's Head Rock on Facebook and book a guided hike or backpacking trip.

Very nice place to get away. You can rent kayaks or canoes, or you can go hiking. There is a life-guarded swimming area. A great place to go day-tripping.
