Lake Kivu Serena Hotel/Gisenyi.

The staff who assisted us during check-in and check-out is Mr.Patient, and the overall customer service was excellent. I truly appreciated how warmly we were welcomed from the moment we arrived. I forgot the name of the gentleman who greeted us—I believe he might be the manager—but he was exceptionally friendly, especially with the kids, and made us feel at home. My daughter had some of her best memories here. In addition, the restaurant team upstairs was incredibly kind, welcoming, and friendly. They allowed my daughter to play and run around while we dined, even engaging with her and making her feel special. The pool attendant was also very attentive, promptly providing towels and arranging a comfortable spot for us by the lake. Lastly, the housekeeping staff were very responsive to our requests and even offered to clean our room proactively.

Fantastic hotel in a great location. The service is excellent, the staff very attentive. The pool is gorgeous. There are nice bars around the corner and a great souvenir store within walking distance. The breakfast is amazing - maybe a little too luxurious. Dinner is excellent, too, but a few more vegetarian dishes would be nice - for a hotel like this, it should be no problem.

My wife and me (early 60s) booked this 3 day retreat after a hectic, week-long, wedding extravaganza in Kigali.|What a treat!|I cannot over-state what a lovely, calming, restorative venue this was. Sure, other hotels are more "modern" but we are in the heart of Africa here and the hotel fits that environment perfectly. The room was spotless and cleaning staff hugely attentive, the views of the pool and the lake excellent.|The stars of the show are undoubtedly the staff, and super-special shoutouts go to Chef Joyce and Romain. Just lovely, kind people who were so caring and considerate.My wife was not well ahead of arriving and unable to eat the whole trip. Clear soup was provided and her well-being checked on each visit to the eating area. Medication was provided which helped enormously.|The manager Jonathan was considerate enough to allow our checkout extend to 3pm ahead of our trip to Kigali airport.||Whilst we do not have experience of life outside the hotel I would definitely recommend the trip to this beautiful area, if only to sit on the small, private sandy beach and dip in Lake Kivu.||Thank you so much to the fabulous team and all the best for the holiday season.||Tony and Annette Connor

Lake Kivu Serena Hotel is the finest hotel in the area, perfectly located on the shores of Lake Kivu. It features a swimming pool and vast open spaces ideal for team activities, family gatherings, and social events. The atmosphere is luxurious and very peaceful, with stunning views of the lake, including the beautiful sight of traditional fishing. It is the top choice for an exceptional experience of Rubavu Town’s natural beauty.

This is a good hotel with very friendly staff For the restaurant the serve very fine and delicious breakfast, as will we tried dinner and it was mesmerizing as well. The place deserves a visit fully peaceful atmosphere and super friendly atmosphere, and very special thank you to restaurant staff, special thanks goes to Ms. JOVITHE.I she is a very friendly person.

Good Hotel with everything working and staff ready to set things right . Good location with extensive lake view and next to a Marine drive which has things like Expos going on . Get a sense of the place just by waling on the Drive . Restaurant one floor up with a large enough menu. Bar downstairs also pleasant with a similar menu .
