The price here was higher than elsewhere in Fox, and anywhere else we had stayed in New Zealand. We assumed perhaps the motel had some major upgrades since we last stayed many years ago and were looking forward to staying again. ||On first entering the room, it was quite nice, clean, the bed was very comfortable, lovely hot shower, stainless steel kitchen equipment (crockery a bit dated), and great undercover parking. But I am not a fan of plastic kettles for boiling water - stainless steel is better. I've noticed most places are now phasing them out.||On first entering the room, it was quite cold.|The door and windows were the standard style and not double-glazed. Hence, the room was not well-insulated, and took some time for the heater to warm the room and it cooled down quickly. But there were electric blankets as well as the big heater in the room, and the bathroom had its own fan heater, but it just never felt cosy. ||The only place to hang clothes was in a cupboard that was difficult to open (carpet laid too high for the door) , but it had a fan and another heater inside.||The motel is off the main highway, and we had no immediate neighbours, so it was quiet. ||Being more priced than other accommodation in Fox we expected more, so we were further disappointed to find only two black tea bags for our 2 day stay - a small issue but really!. Coffee drinkers got 7 sachets and one plunger sachet. Who really wants to annoy the owner or manager to come and replenish our tea bags. I can make do with not having my bed made and rubbish removed and clean towels, but something as simple as extra tea bags for tea drinkers If it's a quiet time (as it appeared) and issues of staffing, then I can understand - simply note guests' arrival and length of stay and provide more tea bags.|| ||
