Lake Ōhau Lodge

So so glad we decided to book a night here. We opted for the dinner and breakfast option, both were really nice. They do communal dining and it was nice to chat with other guests. They have a lovely bar and stunning views from the deck. We had a sunset hot tub which is located on the deck facing the lake and it was stunning. The staff are very friendly and helpful a highlight on our ride so far

Rooms very outdated especially for the price we paid . We also had a night meal there which was venison ( so tuff it was hard to chew ) and salmon which was lovely but also cold . The started veg soup was cold also . Several people at our table felt the same . We had breakfast in the morning as well and there was plenty of options available and definitely stood out better than dinner .

We stayed at The Lodge as part of our A2O cycle tour and were unexpectedly snowed in after an out-of-season snow dump. The scenery was absolutely breathtaking — a true winter wonderland! Despite the trail being closed, we thoroughly enjoyed our time at The Lodge. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the meals provided were excellent. It turned out to be a memorable and relaxing experience in stunning surroundings.

Even though the rooms were sad, and very outdated.... aswell as the fridge stinking due to it being turned on and off so many times..... I found some charm in this place. The Location is absolutely STUNNING 😍 and Staff are nice and helpful! Spent New Years here - Happy 2026!!!

Stayed here on our Alps 2 Ocean trip with friends. Beautiful scenery with mountains. Meal was very good and not long to wait despite the restaurant being full. Staff were friendly and attentive. Definitely recommended and will be back

This lake side lodge is a little gem All though in need of a general refurbishment it has a fantastic atmosphere . A great place to meet new people Meals Dinner and Breakfast all included in the package The set menu was mushroom soup with Walnut and the main was sweet potato kail and lamb Dessert was a apple short with vanilla custard All excellent presented The view is fantastic from the room and staff are so helpful and definitely experienced

Stopped in for a hot chocolate, lovely helpful staff. An incredible view from the outdoor deck, looking out over Lake Ohau towards the mountains. Beautiful clear day so even saw Mt Cook.

Great place to stay. Our room was a bit dated but was clean and warm. The beds were very comfortable. However the best part of the stay (apart from the amazing view) was the food. Dinner and breakfast were superb.
