Great place to stay. Our room was a bit dated but was clean and warm. The beds were very comfortable. However the best part of the stay (apart from the amazing view) was the food. Dinner and breakfast were superb.

Great place to stay on the Alps to Ocean ride. |Outstanding Kiwi hospitality, old school, so good! Excellent food and service. |A well run operation, congrats to owners and staff.|Magnificent view of the sun setting on Mt Cook in the distance while enjoying a drink on the patio.|Rooms are older but clean and the food is great.

We stayed a night as part of our Alps to Ocean cyle trip. After staying at a disappointing AirBnb property at Twizel we were just delighted with the Ohau Lodge. It was simply charming and you couldn't fault the food and service. The views , the lake swim and the general vibe made for a truly memorable time . The nap I had in the sun, on a bed overlooking the mountains and lake will be one I will never forget.||Thanks Ohau Lodge!!!!

I stayed here one night as part of an Alps2Ocean Cycle Tour so cannot comment on the room pricing. Although looking a bit dated in some parts, I could not fault my room which had a big comfortable bed, refrigerator, good shower and even better view. Of course it was quiet. There are two excellent hot tubs for guests. The food was great and all staff I encountered were excellent.

Think family summer camp from Dirty Dancing meets 70s ski lodge and you have what this place perfectly reflects. Unabashedly kitschy and campy without effort. Rooms are comfortable, food is good and plentiful, staff are clearly comfortable with lots of people, requests, and action at all times. This is the place you stole your first kiss- as did probably your parents and theirs.

Just had a wonderful long weekend here with all of the family (16 adults and 5 children) to celebrate an 80th birthday. Many heartfelt thanks to Mike and Louise for providing a lovely location and with having staff working for them who were solely centred on providing top service to us and all other guests. Rooms may appear a little tired in places but were definitely more than suitable and adequate for our requirements. Will certainly recommend to any one thinking of going to the area as as a quieter location instead of somewhere like Mt Hutt.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the lodge as both a guest attending a wedding and as a vendor working on site over three days. The lodgings are simple but clean and comfortable, the service was outstanding and dinner was delicious! Staff were friendly, incredibly helpful and went out of their way to ensure working onsite was as easy as possible - nothing was a problem and they happily provided a clean and functional space we were able to use as a work area that was out of the way and view of other guests but easily accessible to the central areas being used for the event. Really appreciate the extra effort to make it a special day for the couple and attendees and I thoroughly enjoyed visiting from both a guest and vendor perspective. Thank you for your hospitality, hope to work with you again in the future!

Another amazing stop on the Te Araroa Trail. Do take the time to walk the extra km to stay here. This 70s era ski lodge is a fantastic stop for an authentic experience. Reminds me of visiting a grandparent architecturally but the scenery is next level. The rooms while simple feel good enough as you'll want to spend your time outside or having a drink/meal at the bar. The dinner is $30 and as a budget traveler its 100% worth it. Nachos are so big I couldnt even finish and I had been a hungry hiker for over a month. You get sat at a communal table, meet amazing people, and have chef worthy three course meal. Hot tub, quiet, much better than lakes like Tekapo.
