Now the park is being managed properly and the previous management (utterly usless management they were) have finally left, this park could actually be one of the best in Cairns! Hopefully the owner (won't mention names, he knows how run down the place is, not that he cares! And has a MASSIVE ego, might get his panties in a twist if i mention names) finally invests back into the park and actually makes it safe for people to stay there. Stay safe and Hopefully you don't get electrocuted

Stayed at this caravan park, it was 3 years ago I should add. I hired a cabin, upon entering I was overwhelmed by how disgusting the floors were, they definitely hadn't been cleaned in at least 3 plus months. The 3 nights I stayed there I made sure to wear my shoes at all times, the cabin was grimey and knew straight away the only thing that was cleaned were the sheets. It was a pathetic place,, no I don't recommend it

Lake placid rainforest retreat is one of the best caravan parks we have stayed at. It's like being in a rainforest with all the amazing birds and butterflies and beautiful well looked after gardens. The sites are well designed so that you can get maximum privacy, all within close reach to either amenities blocks. The pool is beautiful, the staff are so friendly and helpful. The location is great, 2 major shopping centres close and 10 mins to the city by car. Top notch park, 10/10.

We absolutely love it at Lake Placid Rainforest Retreat. This smaller sized caravan park is peaceful and well kept. The staff in the office are friendly, helpful and always up for a chat. The park is one of the best maintained and clean parks we have been to whilst on our trip around Australia. A short drive to Redlynch or Smithfield for shopping makes it a great location and only 20 mins drive to Cairns. Highly recommended!

Great place to stay. Rooms need a little more up keep. But I'd still go back there. I didn't give service any stars only because I've not needed any. So cannot rate. Much nicer than staying in the city.

We arrived at the Park 3 months ago at the start of the Tourist season worrying whether we could park our caravan and live in it while house was being built . We were not very successful as we also have a little old dog. We stumbled across this beautiful park set amongst the rain forest and opposite the Baron River. We were greeted by the lovely Sue who could not have been more welcoming. She was glad to have us even though we didn’t have a set departure date. We picked the perfect site with beautiful trees and afternoon sun shade. We instantly settled in with a beautiful cafe and bar and happy hour 3 nights a week!!! The amenities were beautiful and modern and very clean, the grounds were kept beautiful and the gardener was very friendly and fabulous at his job he kept our site manicured 😀We cannot thank staff and management enough and would highly recommend this park for a perfect holiday destination. Wishing you all the very best 🙌

Great place to stay. We were extremely lucky to get a 3 night stay during the school holidays, and we were booking on the road as we went. Our caravan site was spacious and tucked up the back corner of the park. The staff were friendly and helpful Helped get us onto our site as it was a bit tricky. Amenities are a little dated but very clean, as is the whole park. Nestled up to the rainforest. Definitely recommend this park
