Thank you for making our stay enjoyable. The park is lovely and clean along with the facilities. The camp kitchen is very well maintained and pool area. Can’t fault it. We will definitely be back!!

Nice quiet park with a fantastic cafe. Felt like we were miles from anywhere, but in fact everything is so close by. Great location. Beautiful park. Good amenities.

We have been coming to Lake Placid every year since 2014. The park is in a great location just north of Cairns. The grounds are kept to a very high standard and appear even better this year. Ruth and Kerry in reception are friendly and extremely helpful. Darren and Chris keep the park looking tidy and Tracey will keep you fed and watered in the Cafe. A great team effort.

This is one of the quietest parks we have stayed in and very well kept. Pool is great and the camp kitchen is very good with ample room and tables for sitting with family. Loved our 4 nights stay

Beautiful tidy and clean park but management won’t enforce the rules about noisy guests. Every night we had a neighbour watching tv or playing YouTube videos extremely loudly but management just said that no other guest had complained. They ring the noisy guests rather than walk down and check the problem in person so of course the noise continues. Other guests also mentioned they had problems and had to call the police as the after hours staff woujd even answer the phone. Place is full of entitled older people who think that they own the place because they stay long term

I love Lake Placid Rainforest resort. It is in a quiet location across from the Barron River. There is a great little Cafe that serves breakfast and dinner from Wednesday through to Saturday.

My family from USA and myself booked 3 cabins recently. We really enjoyed the beautiful serene location nestled in the rainforest with the regular cheeky bush Turkey visits to the cabins. The pool area and bbq facilities were great for our needs. Large shopping centre only a few klms away and beaches a short drive north. Thanks for your friendly service.

We stayed a week at Lake Placid Retreat Caravan Park in July 2025. Now managed by G’Day group. We had site 80 for our motorhome. A bit of a tight squeeze in. But perfect for 7m length Sprinter MH. Great camp kitchen, showers and toilets very modern like a hotel. Pool was covered with a roof shade cloth to prevent sunburn. It is about 20mins drive north west of CBD. But situated on the banks of the Barron River. It is very peaceful and quiet. There is a little convenience store within walking distance that also sells delicious homemade pies and packaged meals. Smithfield shopping centre is a 5mins drive away. And very convenient location to explore Kuranda and the northern suburbs. We would definitely stay again.
