Thank you for making our stay enjoyable. The park is lovely and clean along with the facilities. The camp kitchen is very well maintained and pool area. Can’t fault it. We will definitely be back!!

We loved this park - quiet and friendly and only 15-20 min from town. Sites were large and there was plenty of shed, great pool and amenities were clean, we’d definitely stay again

What a great park . The amenities block and kitchen was spotlessly clean. The lady in the office was very warm and welcoming. We’ll definitely stay again when we’re in the area.

We are currently staying at Lake Placid Rainforest Retreat and I cannot speak highly enough of this park and its staff. We first stayed here for a few nights on our way up to the cape. We were those disorganised travellers who arrive in town in peak season in the late afternoon with no accomodation booked. The staff in the park bent over backwards to move things around to fit us in. This time around I was airlifted from cape York to cairns after experiencing a medical emergency. My mum had flown from Perth and my partner and friends needed a place to base themselves so they could be with me in hospital. Again, the staff went well out of their way to accomodate us. We have been here nearly 3 weeks this time and I couldn’t have asked for a nicer place to recover. The staff have been so compassionate, generous and attentive. The amenities cannot be faulted. There is a beautiful pool area with BBQs and a camp kitchen that is kept extremely clean. The toilets and showers are beautifully clean with new upgrades to the showers. My mum stayed in a bungalow cabin with all you need for a comfortable stay. Housekeeping was on point! The park itself is lovely. Set below rainforest mountains across the road from a lovely running river. The caravan sites are grassy and spacious and gardens are kept beautifully. It even has a delightful little cafe that serves a mean smashed avo and great coffee! With close access to shops, doctors and tourist attractions such as white water rafting, the skyrail, a scenic train through the mountains to the waterfalls and lovely walking trails it’s an ideal base to explore Cairns. I honestly could not fault this place. Thank you Lake Placid Rainforest Retreat ❤️‍🩹

We have been coming to Lake Placid every year since 2014. The park is in a great location just north of Cairns. The grounds are kept to a very high standard and appear even better this year. Ruth and Kerry in reception are friendly and extremely helpful. Darren and Chris keep the park looking tidy and Tracey will keep you fed and watered in the Cafe. A great team effort.

We don't often spend money and stay at caravan parks so really love when a park exceeds expectations. Lake Placid Rainforest Retreat certainly did. The staff were all friendly and helpful, the sites were generous and the amenities were spotless and well cared for. The vibe in the camp was really lovely and relaxing. We loved the location, close to The Armour and Artillery Museum, Barron Falls, Smithfield shopping, Kuranda and the northern beaches. It was also an easy day trip to Mossman Gorge. Thank you.

This is one of the quietest parks we have stayed in and very well kept. Pool is great and the camp kitchen is very good with ample room and tables for sitting with family. Loved our 4 nights stay

Beautiful tidy and clean park but management won’t enforce the rules about noisy guests. Every night we had a neighbour watching tv or playing YouTube videos extremely loudly but management just said that no other guest had complained. They ring the noisy guests rather than walk down and check the problem in person so of course the noise continues. Other guests also mentioned they had problems and had to call the police as the after hours staff woujd even answer the phone. Place is full of entitled older people who think that they own the place because they stay long term
