Lake Safari Lodge

We were just daytrippers, so just ate lunch and hung around the pool for a few hours. The food was great, reasonably priced too. There was some confusion from different staff members whether the kids were allowed to use the pool for free as we were paying customers. It took a few chats with them to clarify it to our satisfaction. Otherwise, I would have given 5 stars.

There is need to have a directory of reliable transport operators or a shuttle especially for foreign visitors. A cab driver was recommended to us by one of the staff members and he duped us, which dampened our experience a bit. When we checked in on the first day we were placed in one of the back staff rooms without even a functional tv, the windows could not be closed and it had old furnishings. We had to request for a different room then we were moved the next day. Please don't take bookings if you are fully booked. The staff was very friendly and the food was divine.

The location offered a stunning view of the lake and the mountains at night, which was truly breathtaking. The gardens were lovely; however, the pool area lacked adequate lighting during the evening hours, and the pumps seemed to be mostly turned off. Additionally, the room was missing drinking glasses.

Meals took a long time to arrive and even 30 minutes for a coffee. Food was good. Rooms a bit boring - plain grey. Ceiling lights very bright. Great location and nice pools.

Great venue, great views. Zimbabwe is accessible on a day trip if you are seasoned traveller.

Very beautiful place, great view of the dam from all the angles. I love the greens in surroundings and the boat cruise inclusion. Nice swimming pool as well. There is a need for improvement in the cleanliness of the bathrooms. Management should closely supervise cleaning especially in the bathrooms. I had an opportunity to move to another room and the bathroom in this room was clean and I was happy. I recommend an upgrade of the bathrooms in some rooms.

Poor service, called a waiter after 20 min post arrival and he did not bother to come serve our table. Called the second one but very slow. Waited an hour for my coffee and an hour plus for food
