Lake Shirakaba has become a tourist destination, but the 3.8km running course around it is a blessing. In summer, university relay teams from all over the country come here for training camps, and bicycle manufacturers' athletes come here, making it a mecca for sports. You'll want to applaud the athletes with familiar team names.

Beautiful lake. Unfortunately there are some old building that makes some parts of the surrounding a ghost town which is destroying the view oft the beautiful nature.

You can find many activities here, such as boat tours, hiking, walking, and BBQ. There were a lot of camping cars.

A bit too commercialized but still beautiful. We visited in Fall and saw the maples with different shades of colors.
