Great location and lots of potential. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly! Would definitely still come back! A few areas of improvement: Cleanliness could be improved (insects on the floor, stained blanket). The hostel offers lots of references to do activities, but it would be even better if they also helped forming groups. There’s also a nice-looking bar and restaurant, but those unfortunately weren’t open when we were there.

A good hostel for a quick stop in Guatape. I did a 4 bed dorm and the beds were comfy, cozy blanket, big locker, and plenty of shared bathrooms. The lake was way lower than normal so there really isn’t a lake view right now, it just looks like a muddy area out from of the hostel. The staff was friendly and the common area made it easy to meet people. Definitely just the basics here but a good vibe and close enough to town that you can walk to everything.

The Lake View is a fantastic hostel! The staff exude great vibes and are incredibly helpful. The dorms boast personal curtains and are kept super clean, with showers and personal lockers available in the main area. They also offer a great breakfast for a reasonable price. Additionally, the kitchens are clean, and the wall drawings add to the ambiance. Just one thing to note: the restaurant is closed on Friday evenings, and breakfast is not offered on Saturdays.

Although old, the place and everything in it was made with care and of quality material so it still exudes comfort. Easily one of the best beds I slept in. Loved how relaxing the location felt as opposed to often too loud and busy centre of Guatape. Free coffee is always appreciated. No atmosphere during my stay.

Good hostel. Unfortunately the lake is really empty now so there isn't much of a lake view, but still a nice view of a meadow. Also the Thai restaurant is closed until December apparently, also a bummer. The staff was nice. The lighting could be better, that's for sure.

Nice, ok hostel next to the lake but quite fa from the center. The beds are nice and common areas good. But the atmosphere was strange

We have been traveling for almost two months and this was the worst place we have been. First of all, despite the name, there is currently no lake. The lake is dry so the view is to nothing, not to a lake. The hostel is at the end of town and everything else is on the other side. The restaurant is closed now, and there was no lights at the roof. The kitchen was really dirty. There were a few people, but because of the employees in the place and the fact that everything was dark, there was no good atmosphere at all. Of course we were not told anything about the lake or the restaurant (if they had told us we would not have made a reservation there). *** My recommendation - either you take a day trip without sleeping in the town, or you close another place (which will probably be half the price) in the town, or you close a hotel not in the town itself but around - there are beautiful hotels at cheap prices. On a personal note - it sucks because we got a recommendation for the place and it was probably good once but has really deteriorated

Chill and cozy hostel with views of the river and privacy curtains in the local end of town. Not a super social vibe, unless you make it happen. Especially since top floor is a (good) restaurant. Nice staff, but offered activities were a little more expensive than in town. Overall a really nice place!
