Best Lake Vacations in the U.S.

"Home to spectacular hydroplane racing during Seattle's Seafair when the H1 Unlimited Hydroplane Series brings 3,000-horsepower boats that can reach up to 200 mph and spray water 60 feet into the air; vintage "thunderboats" are also exhibited at the nearby Hydroplane and Raceboat Museum in Kent." - Joe Yogerst Joe Yogerst Joe Yogerst is a writer, editor, and photographer with over three decades of experience covering travel. Lake Washington has been our destination for decades. From the lakeside parks, to swimming, to boating, Lake Washington is a must. Buy an inexpensive great boat, such as the Toyota, and float, picnic, wakeboard, ski, and tube. Time on the lake is beautiful. During the week we have the lake to ourselves. Sometimes we head to Sammamish, but Lake Washington is home. Mornings it’s glass and afternoons it’s better for floating or tubing. Thank you Mother Nature!

Along with Lake Union this is one of the greatest lakes in the world because it's in the middle of this fantastic city on one side is Bellevue factoria Redmond and so on on the other side is Seattle SoDo Northgate Lake City you couldn't ask for a better place to live or a better lake to go boating on the beauty is incredible that even with two floating bridges the space between is big enough to run speedboats! Be careful most of the beaches are private property

Lake Washington disappointed me. The shoreline feels crowded. Noise breaks any sense of calm. Boats dominate the water. Water quality looks poor in several areas. Algae appears near the edges. You hesitate to swim. Public access feels limited. Parking frustrates visitors. Walking paths feel uneven and poorly marked. Facilities need work. Restrooms lack upkeep. Trash appears near popular spots. You expect a clean, peaceful lake. You leave feeling let down.

It is such a big lake, what is more it provides beaches and bays and park around the lake to relax. I love the view around the lake, especially in Spring when trees show pink flowers. The lake in Summer is even more lively with all people going out and enjoy the sun. There are various activities and things to do here.

Guided Duck Boat tour Seattle on Lake Washington will always remain the highlight of a 2,000 mile road trip from Santa Rosa, CA to Seattle, WA, in 2016. The cruise worthy boat was skippered by a very knowledgeable tour guide. A bucket list is not complete without a Duck Boat tour of Seattle sailing along the shoreline of Lake Washington.

Lake Washington is a nice lake in Washington state. Seward Park is next to Lake Washington. Nice views of mountains on clear nice days from Lake Washington.

I went for an evening walk, and Washington Lake was absolutely breathtaking. The sunset painted the sky in shades of gold, orange, and pink, creating a perfect reflection on the water. The stillness of the lake and the cool evening breeze made the moment feel magical. Nature has such a beautiful way of reminding us to slow down and enjoy the little things. Truly a moment to cherish!
