"Traversing almost all of Chicago's eastern border with Lake Michigan, the Lakefront Bike trail cuts and winds from north to south through Lincoln Park and many others. But far north, near Ardmore ave. sits the entrance to the path, and it's worth the trip. Surrounded by wide open beaches on one end, and the tree-lined park on the other, this section of the trail is best experienced at a slow coast. Take a moment to stop and watch kid playing basketball at the nearby court, or lock up and walk out to the waterfront. Even just using it for your commute is great. No stop signs or pesky cars to deal with. Just wide open road between you and the city. Not bad right?" - Sidekick Video

One of my favorite places is being on the Lakefront walking or riding my bike. The views are simply amazing!

A beautiful and well kept trail. You can walk right on the lake or on the path slightly above. There is a total of 13.5 miles on the lake. There are also bike lanes in addition to walking/running. A beautiful place to watch the sun rise or set! There are also trash cand and recycling frequently.

Splendid area! I love the views of the lake and the skyline to the south. Also enjoyable is watching boats of numerous types go by, including the speedboats.

A beautiful, relaxing landscape of terraces overlooking the lake and grassy knolls just behind for sitting, laying out or playing frisbee, plus separate bike and jogging+walking paths. This area also has beer and appetizers with free chairs. There is also a full-scale, higher-end restaurant (Theater On The Lake). The best thing might be the spectacular view of the Chicago skyline.

Traveling south on the trail, you come around a gentle bend and all of a sudden the city is right there in front of you, and it’s hard to stay mad when there’s so much beauty in the world

Love love love the lakefront trail, but this segment is among the least safe for biking because of people just wandering onto the trail without looking or listening. Wear a helmet.

Went to the zoo and walked here from there. Used Divvy to bike to Navy Pier. It was nice and scenic. Took about 30 mins.

Amazing Chicago city pictures you can capture here . Just make sure not to go during winter like I did 😄 obviously lakefront is freezing cold and very very slippery, you can seriously injure yourself here during winter so please be cautious.
