This place is a complete lie. These reviews are not possibly true. This place may have looked like it does in the pictures long ago. It doesn't anymore, the picture of a typical room was absolutely nothing like the room that we had to stay in. It was recently painted but you could still smell the mildew and mold that was hidden beneath. We had booked a second night and asked for a refund, they refused. This is an old rundown place you do not want to book. Also, when we booked this with Hotels.com (Expedia), we checked the box to pay at the hotel, as soon as we booked it, they immediately charged us for both nights. That is a scam, if you ask me. The four star rating that Trip Advisor is giving this place is a sham. Pass on this one.

Took a loss on this place, booked two bedrooms but found we were in the musty motel. Suppossed to be two bedrooms but it was 2 rooms together with one tiny bathroom. You had to enter someone elses bedroom to use toilet and shower. We walked away and lost our two nights prepaid deposite. Manager would not deal with us, left it to the miniumum wage clerk who had been instructed to block us using other rooms. Lesson learned not using Expedia again to book. Deal directly with hotel!

Very nice place to stay close to the CAT Ferry in Yarmouth. We stayed there the night we arrived & the night before we left. The setting is very picturesque & overlooked a lake. A doe & 2 dawn ran across the front yard our first night. The rooms are comfortable though dated. Both rooms had a mini fridge & microwave. The windows open to let in cool night breezes. Tea & coffee, as well as prepackaged muffins were available in the main office area in the morning. Staff are friendly.

I would not recommend this motel to anyone No customer service Hard beds Sewage smell Hidden dog fee No maid for 3 days Almost 800.00 for 3 days was not worth it Very small room No breakfast

A pleasant welcome, comfortable bed, great shower. BUT there are many things lacking. Noisy mini-fridge kept me awake - it is beside the bed! It sounded like a ventilation system so we didn't search out the source. (Otherwise we'd have unplugged it.) No hair dryer (we were told we should have to the front desk to ask for one - sure, I'm going to do that while wrapped in a towel.) There was a HUGE fly in our room, no fly swatter of course. There are awkward steps by room 29 where someone could trip. Not to code, I'm sure. Wish I had taken a picture. The room rates and check-out are not posted on the door, I thought this was mandatory. Disappointing TV channels. When we went in for the continental breakfast, we were disappointed. I had not slept well at all and the offering for breakfast was mostly over sweet supermarket muffins. Little choice of bread, no bagels... no protein at all (see peanut butter reference below)(no hard boiled egg or even cream cheese) and small, bruised fruit. One type of pre-packaged jam. There was butter, jam and peanut butter in COMMUNAL dishes by the toaster!! There was enough coffee cream for ONE cup of coffee. No help from the attendant/receptionist, who apparently was trying to get the owner to order appropriate breakfast items. For this we paid $169 Cdn...

Wife and I spent 3 nights in one of the motel rooms August 30th to September 2nd. Loved visiting Yarmouth and the area, but would definitely make a different lodging choice if we ever return. Only 1 sitting chair in the room. Only 2 pillows. No ice machine on the property. Really confused how this property has so many positive reviews.

Would definitely not recommend and would not rebook. My family rented two B&B rooms in the main building for an overnight stay after arriving via the ferry from Maine. The woman at the front desk was extremely pleasant but it went downhill from there. Here is what was lacking: 1) No air-conditioning in either room and it was HOT; 2) the rooms were extremely small - our son had his own room which made it barely ok, but my husband and I couldn’t even walk in our room at the same time, it was that cramped, there was no place to put our suitcases so they were on top of the only table and bureau; 3) the bathroom was extraordinarily small, there was a tiny corner sink with literally no place to put a toothbrush or face cream, the shower was so tiny you could barely turn around and I’m 5’4”, 125 lbs. The included “breakfast” consisted of muffins, boxed cereal, juice, coffee and some kind of unlabeled tea. I asked for decaffeinated coffee but they didn’t have any decaffeinated coffee or tea. I had previously booked a night at the same hotel for the evening before our return to Maine and called the hotel 5 nights prior asking if we could cancel and receive a refund but the owner said no. The experience was so bad we decided to forfeit the room fee and book another room at a different hotel for the night before our departure from Nova Scotia. We loved our trip to Nova Scotia but this hotel did not contribute to that positive experience. I don’t understand the positive reviews of this hotel.

This is by far one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed. The rooms were only cleaned twice in a 5 nights stay. The kitchenette did not have knives or a coffee maker or a tea kettle. The sofa bed was filthy and no sheets or pillows were provided for the first night as there is no 24/7 front desk service. There is no AC in the room and the entire unit is contaminated with a mold smell, which caused us harm. The hot water is scolding and burns your skin if you don't be carful. The faucet does not keep it in lukewarm and switches to cold or scolding hot while showering. We had to ask for towels every day! The bathroom window had no blinds and people were able to see us taking showers at night. This hotel and the NovaStar are all owened by this Vietnamesej Man and he does not care in the properties or their upkeep. Does not offer any refunds. Don't waste your money on either one of them. Follow up: There were no additional fans in the room, just ceiling fans. Nothing in kitchen, living room or bathroom aea. We asked for cutlery and coffee maker, but were ignored in our request. The rooms were only 2 x done in a week. When confronted they informed us that they had problems with tha one person doing housekeeping as she tends to do nothing. That is why we had to ask for towels. Never received any extra soap or shampoo. That is why be had to buy our own to use.

Yelp
I was double-charged for a one night stay here in mid-September 2022. I called & sent a copy of my VISA statement to them, they said they would contact their bookkeeper. Now I'm being ghosted. It is also across the street from a 24-hr gas station and was awoken when their dumpster was emptied at 3AM. I would never stay here again.

Yelp
We were hoping this would be a good place but we're sorely disappointed. My wife found a billfold stuffed in the pillowcase which belong to a man from South Carolina. I found the man's number in the billfold and called him directly to let him know that I had possession of it but he had already canceled all of his credit cards after calling Lakelawn who told him they did not have it. We moved to another property in Yarmouth and Lakelawn refused to reimburse us money for the stay. My wife noticed they offer a discount to anyone who will write a favorable review to TripAdvisor. Our group of nine strongly recommend against this property.

Yelp
It's not your traditional B and B, its more like a motor court with small rooms and a larger building with a few B & B style rooms in them that cost a bit more (we stayed in the motel part). The motel rooms are small and the bathroom although well maintained and very clean was as compact as it gets. The bedding of good quality and the bed comfortable. The grounds are well maintained with lots of plantings. The Breakfast was terrific and the owner was a delight and extremely helpful. I found this to be a well run, very clean and good place to stay if in Yarmouth. The owner was very eager to make sure our stay was a good one. I would stay here again if in the Yarmouth area.

Yelp
Mixed reviews. Maybe a 2.5 place. The price was right and the place is quaint. However, the room was a little small. We had a "double room" with two queen beds. There were sinks outside of the bathrooms that are convenient but the bathroom itself is quite small. The shower, in particular, was very small. There would be no way to shave your legs. There was also a couple of spiders in the room. Finally, the blinds on the windows are not enough to keep out the light - as it was very bright in the morning.

Yelp
I stayed here with my girlfriend on a Saturday night in September. We took the Nova Star cruise up to Yarmouth. As an adult man I have a super hard time calling anything cute, but this place is super CUTE. We got there early and our room wasn't ready. Matthew the owner couldn't have been any nicer. He offered to get us some breakfast in the cafe or what ever we wanted. We opted for drinks on the back patio. He commented on how Canadians are known to pour weak drinks and then dumped half a bottle into our cups. Seriously, Matthew couldn't have been any cooler. We sat on the back porch enjoyed our drinks and chatting until our rooms where ready. The rooms are super clean and the motel is calm and quite. It's a perfect representation of beautiful Yarmouth and we couldn't have enjoyed it more. The next day Matthew personally drove us back to the port for our cruise home. We will definitely be back. Absolutley loved it.

Yelp
Many nice things to say... Matthew directed us to a restaurant called Rudders and made us a reservation. The reservation afforded us with a nicer table. The Inn itself is comfortable and very well maintained. Everything is clean..very clean. It's a place you want to hang out. The wifi signal was strong. Complimentary morning coffee is excellent. The only hotel I've been to that has linen that smells like Downy..very fresh. The interior is welcoming and quaint...enough bric-à-brac to make it interesting. Yarmouth surprised us. We felt most at home here and will try our best to return.

Yelp
Stayed here overnight before taking the ferry from Yarmouth to Portland, ME. First impression of the place is very favorable. The outside of the property is certainly well kept with fresh paint. The rooms, however, are standard motel rooms and the bathroom is microscopic. The presence of a microwave and small fridge in each room is a plus, but the lack of a coffee maker is a big minus. Unfortunately, I didn't research this well enough, so it's my fault, but the rooms are NOT air-conditioned so in the summer, it is quite warm, even in the evenings. With the overhead fan and another floor fan going full blast all night, it was still a restless night's sleep. At a price of $175 CAD (incl. taxes), that really bites. A continental breakfast is included with the room rate and this is available at 630AM for those who need to catch the ferry by 730AM, or you can upgrade to a full, deluxe breakfast for $23 CAD more + tax.

Yelp
We took the CAT ferry from Portland to Yarmouth and spent a night at the Lakelawn. Stayed in one of the 'pet friendly rooms' as we were traveling with our pooch. Very convenient to the ferry, Matthew the proprietor is a delightful person, the breakfast was excellent. Our room was basic but comfortable.

Yelp
My husband and I were in Yarmouth due to a death in the family. We stayed at the Lakelawn Motel for 3 nights and were so impressed. The owner was more than accomodating and the room was large and well-appointed. We liked it there so much, we brought 18 of our closest friends and family there for dinner after the service. The dinner was amazing, by the way:) I would definately recommend this motel for your trip to Yarmouth.

Yelp
Love this place! The owner is a very, very nice man who will help make you comfortable any way he can. The rooms are big, clean & adorably decorated. The cafe has delicious food & the view is gorgeous! HIGHLY recommend if you're staying in Yarmouth, the rates are also exceptionally reasonable.

Yelp
We stayed at the Lakelawn Motel over the Easter weekend. We loved the eclectic decorations and the coziness of the rooms. Matthew was amazingly helpful and accommodating. Breakfast filled us straight through until supper time. The price was very affordable as well. We agreed on our way home that the Lakelawn Motel will be our base whenever we head to Yarmouth.
