if you love federation old style then why not, it definitely a hit with us. We don't have issue with the shared super clean shower and toilet as there was only 1 other couple there and we did not have to wait at all. highlights were the style of the house, super soft bed, awesome shower, TV and coffee in room. lovely people that valued privacy. thanks!

Stayed a night and loved it. Slept like a baby on the comfy bed, enjoyed the complimentary breaky and had it on the veranda, looking at the beautiful garden. What a piece of heaven. Jan is also a lovely and accommodating woman and I enjoyed our chat.

What a lovely, lovely place! The overall theme of the entire house almost made me forget I wasn't in France. The three year old I dragged along with me quickly brought me back to reality though. The host is delightful and very welcoming.

A beautiful oasis 2 minutes from inner city Leederville and the freeway. Beautiful decor and gardens with pool.

Booked this place 10 months before visit to Australia after seeing photos on website and being promised ‘relax in luxury’. Luxury it was not. We booked for 10 nights. Found out very late in the day you shared a bathroom with everyone else. This is a heritage property so very old and quaint but that shouldn’t preclude the owners from cleaning the rooms! We first noticed about 7 years worth of dust on the window shutters, fireplace, picture above fireplace, skirting boards and around furniture. The rug had 7 years of people’s hair matted into it 🤢. Cobwebs in various places. You then start to question cleanliness of bed under sheets but we were tired so we went to bed. Then two Huntsman spiders appeared from behind the bed. That was it we spent until 1am searching for alternative accommodation. When I mentioned I wasn’t happy with cleanliness of room the reply was “if you do t want to stay here you don’t have to”! We paid for the 1 night then hightailed it out of there to a lovely clean hotel for our remaining 9 nights .

Booked for 10 nights, 10 months before trip after seeing it on website and the promise of ‘relax in luxury’ and reading reviews (which were quite out of date but good). Utterly speechless at the state of the room when we arrived. Dust everywhere and months if not years worth of it. Blinds, fireplace, skirting boards, pictures. Cobwebs all round room. Years of hair matted in rug 🤢. When the Huntsman spiders started appearing that was it! Spent until 1am searching for alternative accommodation. When we said we weren’t happy with room (possibly hoping they’d remedy it) the reply was “if you don’t want to stay here you don’t have to”. We paid for the 1 awful night we stayed and hightailed it out of there the next morning to a nice clean hotel - own bathroom and air con a bonus. Lakeside has ancient air con which you aren’t encouraged to use and it only goes down to 23 degrees for max 2 hours. Location only good thing about it near Lake Monger but I’m afraid all I can recommend is to avoid it. As a note: my Tripadvisor review said all of the above and her response on there was to slander me as drunk, we woke the whole household ‘all night’ and she completely lied (I’ve reported her to Tripadvisor). We were only in the property from 9pm and spent most of that time searching online for alternative accommodation and we were out of there by 8.15am the next morning).

Thank you, Jan and Steve, for inviting us into your georgeous circa 1900s home in Lederville. You were great hosts. My partner and I loved the comfort and access to different parts of the home and felt spoilt. It was a lovely change from Melbourne, and we'd love to visit again on our return to Perth.

A very pleasant overnight stay, breakfast provided, in a beautifully restored long time home. Hosts were respectful of privacy but absolutely ' there', if required. Thank you "Lakeside B & B "
