We had an absolutely wonderful breakfast at Lakeside Chophouse during our visit to Waterton. The setting alone is worth the visit — sitting lakeside with a panoramic view of the mountains while enjoying a peaceful meal is hard to beat. A big shout out to Christine for the service as it completed the experience. I ordered the turkey sausage hash and was genuinely impressed. The pesto brought a fresh, herbaceous note that elevated the whole dish, and the sunny side up eggs were perfectly cooked — the yolks added a creamy, velvety richness when mixed in with the crisp potatoes and tender turkey sausage. Every bite felt thoughtfully balanced and satisfying. Our server, Christine, was outstanding — warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. She made us feel right at home and her service made an already beautiful meal even better. Between the delicious food, the stunning view, and Christine’s amazing service, Lakeside Chophouse is easily a must-stop if you’re in Waterton. Highly recommend!

This restaurant was gorgeous and had great customer service!! Would definitely return to try another dish! Our server Eamon was very kind and enthusiastic, he made us feel so welcome! The food was great and was reasonably priced for the portions. We would definitely come back! Also loved the view!

The food here is absolutely delicious, and you can really taste the freshness of the ingredients. We ordered steaks and a seafood linguine, and I can’t even describe how amazing the steak was—cooked to perfection and incredibly flavorful. The seafood linguine was also excellent. The atmosphere is lovely, and the place is very clean, which adds to the overall experience. My only suggestion would be for the staff to be a bit more welcoming and friendly. Overall, highly recommended for the food!

Normally when visiting a smaller town or just travelling in general especially for a short time I would never go to the same restaurant twice. We were only in Waterton for 2 days staying at the Prince of Wales hotel and both nights we had dinner at Lakeside because of the service, the view, the drinks and most importantly the food. I wish I had taken pictures of the ribeye (feature for the weekend) the first night as well as the calamari which was the best I’ve ever had (regular menu). But we went back the second night and got the chicken tikka masala and the lobster and prawn linguine, both of which were amazing even if not quite as good as the steak the night before which was 11/10. Our servers both nights were excellent (Adrian and Eamon), but on the Sunday night Adrian even got us the last of the feature desserts (they were down to 3) they had over the weekend even though it was no longer on the menu. It was like a giant coffee crisp chocolate bar with a mocha ice cream/cream filling and was so good we had it both nights. Highly recommend this restaurant for the view, the food, and the service. We got to watch half of a wedding reception in the grassy area beside the restaurant and a bunch of baby deer canter by on the paths by the lake. One of the best restaurants I’ve been to.

Food, service and vibes all were great. They tailored to my husband's need as hus stomach senstivity to have no dressing and he immediately suggested on side olive oil, which was absolutely right. My dish was so rich and delicious too. On the other sunny days, I saw weddings going on in the back yard.

We loved Adam!! Our server. He listened to our detailed order and it was perfect. We also requested to move inside due to the weather and he was very gracious about it. He checked in with us during our dinner time, but not too much. He is a keeper, a gem! He was also very supportive to his other collegues that we works with. You are certainly blessed to have time serving at this spot. We will certainly be back and hope to have Adam as our server.

The last time I visited this restaurant was back in 2019, and it still stands as the best in town. Located by the lake, it offers delicious food and excellent service. However, be aware that there are many flies this time visiting Waterton Park.

Look, don’t over think this. Sure, the food is slightly more expensive than anywhere else in town. But get this pal, it’s WAY better. And if the weather’s any good, you’re sitting on the best outdoor patio in Southern Alberta, I kid you not. Even if the wind is up or the rain’s coming down, the wall of windows is pure vista, you dig? Get there in the evening and your mealtime companion is the sun glancing off Vimy Peak, and the undulating waters of Upper Waterton Lake. I could bore you with descriptions of the food, but clue in man, it doesn’t matter. And don’t get me wrong, the food IS good (and the wine is priced lower than in comparable Calgary high-end restaurants), but you didn’t come to Waterton for the food, you came for the mountains. Gaze on brother. (Awesome staff too, and I'm not talking about the deadly wizard stick I found on my hike along the Akamina Ridge).
