This place is an absolute find! I only wish that I had known about it sooner! We stayed in the cozy suite with a patio that had a babbling brook running alongside the building and around the deck which added to the already peaceful environment. The accommodations were very clean and comfortable the suite was spacious and included everything one would need for a relaxing getaway. The view was breathtaking. We enjoyed the outdoor amenities such as the viewing deck and hang out areas, and the refreshing spring fed pool that boasts and 8 ft deep end which was an added bonus being able to tread water while looking out over the lake. The amenities were very thought out and well done and I loved their honor system market! We bought a few of the sandalwood candles that smell fantastic! Check in and check out was completely contactless with informative notes and texts left for you upon arrival, departure, and in lieu of your spa appointments. I really like this feature as it adds to the overall relaxation of the experience without any of the hassle and waiting at the front desk. T-Mobile doesn't work at all on the property which added to the unplugged element of my stay, bonus! We enjoyed the 2.5 mile hiking trail which is well manicured and shaded which allowed enjoyment even in the summer heat. The highlight, of course, was the soaking tub cabana! It was all it's cracked up to be and more! Very private with an incomparable view, and the tub was surprisingly comfortable for two. We loved it; we're going back in 2 weeks!

Book it! Go! This place is spectacular and the pictures don’t do it justice. The words tranquil, peace, and serenity can’t even touch the soaking cabanas or the fluffy soft cloud beds in the room! This is a travel must and I would come back again and again! The check in was effortless, the manager is kind and easy to message with via text. She was helpful and answered all our questions. The resort is breathtaking and it was a mix between an Italian villa and spa. The soaking cabanas are a must (especially at sunset) and added more to the relaxation. Loved the amenities and the view is unlike anything else.

The Lakeview at Fontana is in a whole world of its own. If you are looking for peace and serenity, this is the place for you. We have been here twice now and feel so relaxed after. They are consistently clean and accommodating. They are pet friendly too if you want to bring your four legged friend. The tub experience is out of this world. It’s only 10 mins to town and can easily get dinner there. I highly recommend this and we will be returning.

Lakeview at Fontana was a wonderful place to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. The location was easy to find with GPS. The view was amazing! Even with occasional summer rain showers, our visit was enjoyable. The soaking tubs are a “must” (even though our visit was cut short due to lightening in the area). The host/staff are very accommodating to any needs that may arise.

Our stay at Lakeview at Fontana Spa was amazing! It started from the very beginning with all the little extra touches that were so beautifully done and continued throughout our stay. The staff was unbelievably helpful for any of our needs. Especially Tetia, who went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure that we had absolutely everything we would want. The cabins and beds are so comfortable and the tub and views are incredible. I recommend this spa for girls, weekends or couples! Beyond expectations! Highly recommend!

We’d stayed in 2018 and loved the experience. There was an old world European romantic charm to it then. They included French press coffee and light pastries/breakfast in the morning with your stay. This created a fun dynamic each morning with the opportunity to talk with other guests. The place seemed in better repair then. ||April 2025 was our current stay, and they’ve discontinued the French press coffee and pastries. Everything is an extra cost, except for the Walmart brand k-pod coffee which was awful. No yoga, and nothing in the gathering space - no magazines, books, games etc except for a few puzzles. There’s no community feel. ||The staff was very responsive and helpful when I asked for different sheets because those on the bed had a very strong fabric softener smell. They changed them the next day. ||We stayed in room 5, and to me the room smelled musty, my husband didn’t feel it smelled but they have dehumidifiers running. The room is dated, dressers have to be fought with to open, bed is lumpy and they don’t even have any tissues supplied. The toilet paper holder was broken in our room so the paper kept falling off. The couch was hard and formal, the inside chair was comfortable but the patio chairs cracked when we tried to sit on them, not allowing us to use the patio without hauling one of the inside chairs out. The webs on the patio are out of control, but there are crazy ambitious spiders in NC. It made for uncomfortable spaces.||My husband wanted ice and they said the ice maker just broke, and I could go to the BP to get some ice. Seemed like they should have sent someone to at minimum supply ice to guests until they got the machine fixed. Seemed like a customer service miss. ||The experience is not any level of luxury. It’s rustic, which may be just what some are looking for. Temper your expectations the images of the rooms on the website don’t reflect the reality of our room at least. We sadly won’t return and I won’t be referring friends here anymore like I used to.

We were looking for a relaxing weekend getaway, and we found it here! Beautiful property, amazing service, can't wait to return. Loved our time in the cabana tubs. The little lounge area was perfect for our needs and had everything to make our own charcuterie board. |Thank you Adelle and Tetia!

Our weekend stay at this charming mountain getaway was an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, It felt like stepping back in time, with a rustic, peaceful atmosphere that encouraged us to unwind and unplug. Though we never saw the staff, their presence was felt in every thoughtful detail. The cabin was impeccably clean, well-stocked, and inviting. We appreciated the personal touches, from the cozy blankets to the clean comfy bed. The serenity of the location was unmatched. We spent our days exploring nearby trails and our nights enjoying the quiet, starry skies. It’s the perfect place to disconnect from the hustle of everyday life while still feeling well-cared for. We highly recommend this hidden gem to anyone seeking a peaceful retreat in the mountains.

Yelp
If you haven't been to this area, you must go at least once in a lifetime! I enjoyed this spa while vacationing in the Bryson City. I highly reccommend you make reservations, this is a spa retreat with lodging options, very nice Italian themed breakfast area. Great experience for all, booking is very easy, they do honor military discounts. I had a private cabana nestled in the trees, which included a bottle of champagne with glasses, very refreshing bath salts, and nice music. The views, décor, flower petals on the floor, and cabana was amazing! You could see lake Fontana from the top, very private and peaceful time. I felt really relaxed and recharged afterwards. They do have a pool for use down a very steep hill, its worth checking out before you leave. The water a bit cold for us, so we didn't use. There is a small hike to the cabana, but worth it. I literally felt like I was in Italy, loved it all. Overall it was enjoyable experience! The staff were very professional and helpful.

Yelp
We stayed here for few nights about 8 years ago and really enjoyed this boutique inn and spa. This time we were passing by and decided to try out their brand new offering - treehouse soaking cabanas. We sure were not disappointed. Great views and very relaxing. 90 minutes flew by so fast - I did not want to leave.

Yelp
Lakeview is an amazing romantic escape, so close to Charlotte. My husband and I have visited twice and loved the experience each time. It has the feel of an old world European hotel. We enjoyed sitting on the patio sipping wine and playing board games. Pure bliss in the treetop soaking tub. If you go make sure you book a soak in the tub, it was worth every penny we enjoyed the gorgeous scenery from the treetop tub and all around the resort. The rooms are quite basic, but had everything we needed. Breakfast was very tasty and we developed a love for French pressed coffee. I recommend Lakeview to all of my friends. Getting ready to schedule our next visit. This time I will take advantage of the yoga classes and spa amenities.

Yelp
Just got back from a girls' getaway at Lakeview. What a treat! Beautiful scenery, yummy breakfasts, and heavenly spa treatments. Plus, with shopping in downtown Bryson City and hiking close by, it's the total package for a perfect weekend. I live in TN so I'm used to having mountains but this scenery I could not get over. The ride up was beautiful. Our cottage was quaint and perfect. Breakfast was a wonderful variety of fruits, pastries, and granola. From there I went to the spa for a massage. It was amazing. I wish I could've spent all day there. Tiffany was awesome. The owner (?) was super sweet and helpful. We spent a lot of time in the office sampling and inquiring about the spa products they have for sale. Glad I splurged and bought some to bring home. All in all it was a great experience and we are already talking about going back. Can't wait for the treetop cabana to open!

Yelp
Lakeview at Fontana was a huge disappointment for our group. When we arrived, we realized how close to the highway this room was. Aside from the sound of non-stop traffic, the 2 bedroom suite was dirty, dark and dingy, had nothing on the walls, the kitchen was without a single drawer, no glasses (other than for wine), insufficient pots & pans (had to use a pot to bake cookies). There were bugs everywhere. We had to search for the cutlery which we found stacked on top of the microwave and the lighting in the living room was suitable for an interrogation room. We found the experience so unpleasant that we left a day early. Upon our return, we all realized we were covered in red welts from bed bugs. Needless to say... the loud sound of traffic in an interrogation room setting offering up a bad case of bed bugs is the polar opposite of what we expected. Not exactly a zen experience as touted on website.

Yelp
For anyone looking to book in 2021, COVID has changed this inn quite a lot. They don't offer any breakfast (other than bar snacks in their kitchen area), they don't do the wine and cheese in the evening or any yoga like the other reviews raved about. I think without the add ons that other reviewers mentioned, it's not worth it. Especially since the rooms are really small and extremely dark. The cabana soak is beautiful and you should book that separately but you might as well save your money and stay somewhere else until they bring back the aspects everyone loves about staying there.

Yelp
This was the perfect getaway to recharge my batteries and reconnect with my sister-in-law. I loved starting the day with yoga, then eating breakfast, then heading to the spa. Both the massage and facial I scheduled were so relaxing, I felt like a puddle of goo afterward. We spent one afternoon hiking the on-property hiking trail (2.5 mile loop), which was more challenging than I expected but a great workout. The next afternoon was spent lounging by the pool. I topped one of my evenings off with the treetop soak, which I highly recommend. For someone not familiar with this property, I would suggest two things--first, reserve a room with a kitchenette and then bring lots of food and snacks that can be heated easily. Breakfast is provided and they have a wine hour with some snacks, but if you don't want to be bothered to drive into Bryson City, you'll need to bring something with you. Second, with no TV in the rooms, don't forget to pack lots of books, magazines, puzzles, and games. For me, this was noooo problem--I relished the idea of some time to catch up on my reading, but I can see how others might get antsy in the evening. All in all, I would come here again without a doubt. So nice!

Yelp
I really enjoyed this very relaxing weekend away in the mountains. We arrived during wine and cheese hour and the staff was kind enough to accommodate our request for freshly pressed coffee as well. All of the staff were very accommodating and went out of their way to make our stay very enjoyable. The place that we rented had a kitchen, living room, one bathroom and two bedrooms, one with two full size beds and one room with one full size bed. It was perfect for the 3 of us and our 3 other friends rented the identical space above. There was a great covered porch upstairs that we had our own evening hours of drinking and chatting. We had a gorgeous pink dogwood tree beside our porch as well as lots of trees to distract from the road below. That may be my only complaint, if you can even call it that, is that the place is right off the road and the trucks can be loud while outside. I don't recall hearing them while I was in my bedroom though. Each morning from 8-10:30 am we had coffee, juice, muffins, yogurt with the fixings and fruit. The breakfast area is very cute and has a large outdoor space as well to use when it's nice outside. I did not take advantage of the amazing tree house bathtub or the spa however everyone all of my friends that did came out feeling like they were walking on a cloud. Instead, I took advantage of the 2.5 mile trail onsite. We will be back!!

Yelp
Tucked away location near lots of great hikes. Very welcoming staff with complimentary wine and snacks in the evening and breakfasts in the morning. There is an on-site spa and yoga classes. My massage was wonderfully relaxing. Our room was small but warm and comfortable and quite. Great weekend away for 2! Relaxing. Peaceful. You will want to turn your phone off while you are here.

Yelp
We stayed here for our Anniversary in September. The views were incredible! There are no TVs so you get the best recharge ever with peace and quiet! The staff was amazing and the pastries, juice, and coffee in the mornings is just what you to start off your day! Wine and cheese in the evening is such a relaxing end to a long day of activities. We will be staying here again and will let our friends know about this place! You won't regret it!!

Carrie M.

Yelp
Lovely place! Had such a relaxing time and the spa was wonderful. Definitely check this place out whether you stay the night or not. Can't wait to come back with friends and family.

Yelp
Cute, chic, quiet and serene - this is an awesome place to getaway and relax! After seeing Lakeview at Fontana written up in Southern Living several years ago, it's been on my list of places to stay. It finally happened this past weekend(mid-August 2015), and it's all I expected it to be. The owner, Tetia, is super nice and very into helping you feel welcome to not only her inn, but also the Bryson City area. Our room(#5) was clean and equipped with a kitchen to prepare an entire meal. Hands down though, my 2 favorite parts of our stay was the bed(soft sheets for days and comfy pillows), and of course, the deck with the view of the lake. Nothing like enjoying their free happy hour wine and cheese taking in the view, as well as breakfast the next morning. This would be a perfect place for a mother/daughter get away and for couples(if the husband can do without TV for a day or 2). Put Lakeview at Fontana on your list!!!

Yelp
This. Place. Is. Awesome. We only had one night but we will definitely be back. Especially when the Treetop Soaking Cabanas are up and running! Which is soon. Tetia was so incredibly friendly and helpful. Wine and cheese/snacks in the evening, pastries and coffee/juice in the morning...they offer yoga classes and massages...and the view! This place is gorgeous. As soon as I got there I felt my body relax. It promotes calmness and relaxation. We had one of the queen rooms. It was clean and cozy. No TVs in the rooms, which I greatly appreciated. BUT-there is a TV lounge if your husband insists on watching the basketball game at 11pm. It was just great. What a gem.

Tammy M.

Yelp
Excellent day spa! 80 minute facial was out of this world. My hubby had a massage that was awesome. Try this place! You will not be disappointed!

B K.

Yelp
Wow. Beautiful, relaxing, welcoming, rustic luxury. Will be back again!

Ann L.

Yelp
This place is a gem! It may not have all of the amenities we like (we do like a tv in the room to drown out the AC noise even though there is a tv room) but we would not hesitate to stay here again because of the charm, quietness, quaintness and friendliness of the staff, even the other guests were kind. Reggie, the cat, is definitely a greeter and knows no strangers, there is a pool and the morning coffee and afternoon wine is so relaxing. Can't wait to go back!
