The experience starts off with the best bellman I’ve ever met, Elvis. He goes above and beyond and is so kind. Front staff also great and makes sure you have what you need. If not, they figure out a way to accommodate. The best part of this hotel is the incredible views of Lake Travis with sunrise and sunset views. The pools are amazing. Minor updates needed around property, but nothing that takes away from the experience. The restaurant used to be average, but now 4/5 stars - burger 5/5! It’s just an all around great place to spend time with the ones you love and also great for conferences, weddings and photo opportunities!

Spent a long weekend at Lakeway Resort. This place is outstanding. Beautiful place with gorgeous views of Lake Travis. Our room was clean, spacious with coffee maker and mini-fridge. Something I never say about hotels, the bed was so comfortable! There are 3 pools, family, kids and adults only. The adult only area had 2 infinity pools a soaking pool and a hot tub. Pool towels are provided with your towel card you get at check in. An added bonus was each morning a family of deer greeted us below our balcony. But, one of the best parts of our stay was the staff. Every staff member was kind and helpful. I have to mention Brittany at the front desk and Elvis who was the first to greet us at the lobby doors. Both so friendly and helpful. We will be back.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ From the moment we arrived at Lakeway Resort & Spa, we were greeted by Elvis — and what an absolute treasure he is! Elvis is the very definition of hospitality: kind, gracious, attentive, and genuinely dedicated to making guests feel welcome. He went above and beyond for us throughout our entire stay, and I can honestly say his warmth and professionalism alone are enough to inspire this 5-star review. If every resort had an “Elvis,” travel would be an absolute dream. The resort itself carries a charming ambiance with beautiful surroundings, and while the rooms are slightly dated, they are comfortable and well-kept. The spa was outstanding — Melissa delivered a phenomenal deep-tissue massage that was truly world-class and much needed. Dining was another highlight; breakfast and the bar bites were absolutely delicious and exceeded expectations. Overall, this resort shines in so many ways, but Elvis’ remarkable service elevated our experience to unforgettable. He is a true gem, and because of him, I will recommend Lakeway Resort & Spa without hesitation.

We are having such a wonderful time at this beautiful resort! Everything from the scenery to the atmosphere has exceeded our expectations. The staff here is truly amazing, so welcoming and attentive. I want to give a special shout-out to Mrs. Kimberly for going above and beyond. While I was out and forgot my earrings on the bed, housekeeping did a fantastic job cleaning our room and kindly placed my earrings on the table so they were safe. That level of honesty and care really stood out to me. We are so happy with our experience and will definitely be coming back!! I’m recommending this resort to all our friends and family! Thank you!

The front bellman, Elvis, makes The Lakeway Resort! He is phenomenal and a shining example of how to provide a wonderful customer experience! I would come back here just to meet Elvis again! We enjoyed our stay very much and the property offers exceptional views of Lake Travis!

This was my first time visiting, and the service was just okay. I arrived around 7 or 8 PM, but there was no valet available. My room was really nice, but I was disappointed to see spots on the carpet, especially considering the price. 🙄 I did meet Michaelle, who was charming and friendly. The view from my room was pleasant, and my stay was peaceful and quiet. I can check this off my bucket list, but it's definitely not a place I would return to.

Google
Elvis was exceptional, very friendly and helpful with our bags as well as directing. Bartender and the back porch bar on 09/05/2025 around 6pm (Can’t remember his name) was very accommodating made our “Mocktails” delicious and beautiful. Overall stay was well worth the money!

We had a birthday getaway at the resort and it was really special. All of the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. I had a spa appointment the first day and was able to check in early. Our room was clean, spacious and had a scenic lake view. The bed was comfortable and it was very peaceful and quiet. We had a tasty breakfast at the 63 Restaurant and feel that the prices are very reasonable. There are several pools and I liked that some were adult only. Overall it was extremely enjoyable and we plan to return to the resort in the future

Yelp
wonderful experience! The staff is amazing! I took my family away for a weekend getaway and left Lakeway feeling rejuvenated.

Yelp
Definitely an average resort & spa destination in the Austin area, and there are so many better options to choose from in regards to value for the money... I gifted my boyfriend a staycation at this resort for this birthday, and was able to book a night's stay with a Capital One Venture Card credit I had. So while the credit covered the stay, it was not worth it and looking back, I wish I had picked a newer accommodation with more amenities, even if it was in the city and not by the lake. They have a bar and on-site restaurant, but the options are sub-par. It would have been nice if they had had a coffee bar or cafe of some sort. We ended up having both dinner and brunch the next way at restaurants in Lakeway, off the resort site. While the room was clean, it was definitely simple in design...perhaps even boring. We did have a balcony that we were able to sit outside on, but the "view of the lake" was not that spectacular. I hate to sound like a "Debbie Downer" with this review, but we might as well have stayed home...

Yelp
Unfortunately a complete bust. The biggest complaint is really the 2-star experience at a 4-star price. Not the biggest area, few perks or amenities worth much, and a lackluster room. The only thing justifying the price is the view of the lake, which is adorned by your almost barren balcony that's much too close to other people. I could genuinely find my way over to another balcony if I so choose to risk my life. The place smells like pool water and their pool is crowded with the type of clientele that likes to yell wildly or wear polos in the water (???). Not only that, but it took so long to get towels because they still had the towel pass from the people that booked out the room before us (which leads me to believe there wasn't much time before we came for proper cleaning). Also, you HAVE to return the towels before entering the building despite the pass saying the opposite/letting us wear them inside before returning them after a proper wash. This makes no sense and it also adds to the fact that the place smells like chlorine. The drinks also were bad. Not only that, both of the pool towels AND the hotel room towels had stains. Just disgusting everywhere here! Ordering room service was okay except they don't bring utensils and we had to go down there ourselves because when we called, they told us only one person was at the front so they couldn't leave. Why even order room service if we have to LEAVE the room? AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST. Such a waste of money. Only good part was the view (which could be better) and the jalapeño poppers were proper spicy.

Yelp
I enjoyed my time here. First off it was my birthday and they decorated the door and gave me a birthday card. The rooms were spacious. I truly enjoyed my stay. There were cute deer outside the patio area every morning. I loved the adult only pool and the jacuzzi area. There are cookies in the lobby daily around 5ish. Some days there were also wine tastings. The restaurant had happy hour daily with reasonably priced food and the food in the main restaurant was also tasty. I would come back here again.

Yelp
This resort has really gone downhill! We stayed here back in 2017 and had a wonderful experience but after this last visit during the July 4th weekend, will not return! The place has water leaks everywhere around the property with buckets catching the water. The front desk staff were extremely rude and could not be bothered with questions or concerns. There was one lady with blond hair who I believe was the manager that actually tried her best to help. But everyone else behind that desk, RUDE- especially the other blond with the accent! Don't get me started on the poor excuse of "kids activities" they have! Don't get your hopes up for these, because they are a joke! Half the time they are cancelled without notice and the other half was relocated but had no one hosting- just a box of markers and some paper set on a random table where the bar was at and it was a "do it yourself" type of project! Very disappointing for my daughter when it was pouring rain and unable to utilize the pool. Their kids center has no one running it and multiple water leaks there too! And then the glow stick party consisted of a cheap plastic glow bracelet you were given and told to "have fun". Very sad! To top it off, a fight broke out between a couple - drunk of course. Scared my daughter but thankfully security was called and comforted my daughter which was nice. Needless to say, this place has really gone down and we won't be returning!

Yelp
We stayed at Lakeway Resort and Spa this weekend. It is located on beautiful, Lake Travis. The views are amazing and the pool is very relaxing. We thought the price is too high for what you get. We thought it was expensive and it is old. The hotel needs a full remodel badly. It is stained and dated. The resort fees are high, and on top of it they charge for s'mores, Ummm, you can't include s'mores with the resort fee? The restaurant on site was not good. (I'll review that separately.) We also thought there lacked activities and things to do. We will be staying at a different resort for that price. Lastly, one of the pools is 9' with no lifeguard or fence. It is right behind the water slide and a child could easily get up there quickly and fall in. Safety wise I would be very cautious going here without a strong swimmer. Our 6 year old, quickly disappeared, got behind the slide, and we found him in that pool. So scary!

Yelp
I gave the lone star because you can't give zero and Kim at the front desk was nice. We stayed here 7/19/24 - 7/21/24 (Harris Party of 2). It's now 8am on check out day and we are racing out of here!!! The rooms here are filthy. We had to switch because of the bugs and dirt and the second was only slightly better. The quality here is below a motel 6. I'm not sure how much my hubby paid but it should be refunded. Pool was warm. Tried to eat but service was slow so we left. Do not stay here with high expectations!!!

Yelp
I am very disappointed with this resort and our stay at it. We went over the weekend to celebrate a birthday, drove 3 hours to this Lakeway resort and the lady at the counter says they will take a 200$ deposit and it will be 100% refundable at the end of my trip, unless there is any damage to the room also she mentioned that parking is FREE! Mind you on the website it states the same thing. A few days later go by after our checkout and I only received about 60$ back from my 200$ deposit and so I call the hotel and she says I was charged a 50$ resort fee off of my deposit and on top of it I was paying 10$ for parking per night. The lady apologized and said it was all a miscommunication but didn't offer any type of reimbursement especially knowing it was mistake on their part and not the customer.

Yelp
Michelle did a facial for me and it was a fantastic experience. She taught me about skin care and even spent extra time on my skin. I can't wait to go back! The pool was also lovely.

Yelp
The hotel is old and dated, dirty carpet and empty spaces. Can you believe the pools open at 9:30 am???? Absurd! The food is not good at all, i had something that in paper looked Amazing... crab and lobster Benedict... oh yeah but... no! The bread was stale, the plate was not even warm and there was no sauce at all, even tho I requested more... nothing.

Yelp
This review is from my front desk check-in experience on 8/28/2024. I don't know around what time we arrived, but it was somewhere between 4 to 6. I don't remember much about the experience besides the lady that checked me in was Michaele, she was fabulous. She was easy to talk to and very down to earth. She made me laugh because I made her laugh with my moment telling her about the check-in message (I will attach the part I showed her). I think at that time, she wasn't aware they sent those instructions to the guest, anyway, you had to be there. But we laughed about it for a few minutes. Also, the pool attendant(s) that evening at the pool food/bar were super cool too. It was right before they closed and they didn't make us feel rushed AT ALL. We stopped at the downstairs bar before heading up to our room to change for the evening. That bartender was also awesome and I really enjoyed the drink that she made me.

Yelp
After Hurricane Beryl left us roasting in the July heat with no power, we decided to treat ourselves with a getaway to Lakeway Resort and Spa in Austin, since there were no available hotels in Houston or any surrounding city. Unfortunately, what we thought would be a relaxing escape turned into something out of a horror story. The photos online are seriously deceptive! The resort was tiny and had the vibe of an old 2-star roadside motel. Everything looked and felt rundown--dirty carpets, worn-out furniture, and elevators that were so dark and sketchy. And don't get me started on the roaches I saw in the short time I was there! Just walking around, it was clear that "resort" was a stretch--think more along the lines of a motel that's seen better days. Honestly, I felt like I was in a Motel 6, not a place charging "resort" prices. Thank goodness our room wasn't ready when we arrived because after one lap around the property, we knew we had to get out of there! The only decent thing was the view of the lake, but it was nowhere near enough to make up for the nightmare of issues everywhere else. We ended up booking a different hotel and had an amazing, unplanned vacation elsewhere. If you're looking to relax and escape, steer clear of Lakeway Resort. There's no relaxation to be found when you're busy keeping an eye out for roaches and avoiding grimy furniture. Yuck!

Yelp
I went to Lakeway Resort with a day pass during the week. The pools were clean. The hot tub was a bit dirty. There were adequate chairs around the pool. The cocktails were alright. I had a frozen margarita and a honey hibiscus cocktail with tequila. One of the servers at the swim up bar charged my partner 3 times for one transaction using Apple Pay resulting in over $300 in charges for tacos and nachos. My partner was told he was never charged even though he called his bank and confirmed the money was removed from his account. Subsequently the server did not give him food. I had to order the food using my card. I waited for about 30 minutes and asked where the food was and the server checked a bag sitting on the counter and gave it to me. The pool was relaxing but the service was unfortunately not satisfactory. I wouldn't recommend using Apple Pay at the swim up bar as they will take your phone and could charge you multiple times.

Yelp
Amazing weekend getaway at Lakeway Resort and Spa. Relaxing atmosphere with wonderful spa services with Jason and Michelle. Highly recommend!

Yelp
In booking this hotel, I broke one of my cardinal rules. I saw a deal, spontaneously booked my room, THEN and only then, after finalizing my purchase, took a peek at the reviews. I guess this was just a clever way for the universe to remind me to keep a little spontaneity in my life, because this blind booked resulted in a pretty solid experience. I think it's important to note, I'm a fairly adventurous female in my 30s, so is my partner. We did not bring children, or fur babies along, but we did bring our vehicle (which proved useful). We're just a few 30 something's that love adventure, activity and natural air! The hotel itself isn't in my opinion one of those resorts that offers enough amenities to fill your adventurous needs, and most amenities are found atleast 10-15 minutes into the city by car. So what do they offer, and why may they be worth the stay? *Although the rooms are dated, the Lakeside views of Lake Travis and a lakeside patio view for every room makes up for the lackluster first impression. 2 things here. 1. The deer! The deer are everywhere and happy to hang out near your patio. 2. The sunsets over the lake are LOVELY. *The adult pool and hot tub are beautifully designed additions that are steps away from the on-site spa and gym (they have Peloton). The spa is bit pricy, but eliminates the the need to drive elsewhere if you're looking for a day of pampering! *S'mores and occasional fresh baked cookies - I'm unsure if the s'mores are seasonal, but what I do know is that if you arrive and find s'mores packets at the front desk, grab a few and indulge at the fire pit when the time comes. Seriously...I added a whole star for the s'mores alone :D. *Booze- while there are several bars on site, only one was open during our stay. I can't speak to the drinks or the service since I did not indulge, but it's comforting to know whiskey is a few steps away if the need arises. *The mini fridge in our room was appreciated. Minor, but appreciated. *Southern hospitality- We had a few minor issues with our room. The staff was immediately apologetic, responsive, and offered to place us in another room to resolve the issue. After checking out, the staff allowed us keep our luggage on site until we finished our hike. *Elevation- ok this is relative, but coming from flat a Houston, it was nice to explore the surrounding area including the local trails and beautiful hillside views. Although this spot is not for everyone, and without a deal, the price can be steep, I think it's certainly worth looking into for your next stay. P.S. I now understand the notes mentioning Elvis. Elvis is fantastic!

Zolvaring H.

Yelp
Been here a week. AC has stopped working twice, I've had to wait 30 minutes before at the front desk only to get help when I went knocking on random doors to find staff, and the Internet has been out for 2 evenings in a row now. For the price? Not happy.

Stephanie E.

Yelp
There were several issues with our stay. 1. My husband used the toilet and it didn't flush. Maintenance was sent to the room, maintenance cleared the bowl, but did not solve the problem so the next time that someone use the toilet we had issues again. 2. The couch was stained with some large sticky substance housekeeping was sent to the room, they looked at it and had no idea how to address the stain and said sorry and left. 3. The room had a musty/damp smell/feel to it. we tried adjusting the AC units and it did not help my entire family ended up with sinus infections after our stay. Lakeway also refused to credit anything other than the resort stay for the room quality/sanitary issues. For the money they charge, the value is not there. Would not stay here again.

Yelp
This review is just for the pool only as we did the resort pool pass The mixed drinks are good, but definitely overpriced including all of the other drinks including beer 18% gratuity automatically included so when your drink is already $16, by the end you are looking at a $20 drink. We ended up ordering a lot of food and drinks, and by the end, they don't give you an itemized receipt when they give you the bill. It feels like they don't want you seeing the breakdown of the crazy costs... but we had discrepancy on our bill which made us have to ask for it The pools are really nice and everything is pretty well kept. We definitely enjoyed our time there at the pool If it wasn't for the drink prices, I think I would have given it a 5. Will probably come back, but still bummed about the prices

Lucien B.

Yelp
It's an older facility, understandable. The staff is solid. Management needs attention. No hot water, and minimal services will keep me from returning. Sadly.

Dave B.

Yelp
Terrible service terrible experience, NOT WORTH YOUR TIME. The staff were continuously rude and avoid you. Booked an adult cabana and didn't get what was promised. Don't waste your money on the service, food, or atmosphere.
google avatar

Yelp
It appears that this hotel has a lot of computer, email, and printing issues due to not being able to get a (pdf) final bill for our recent stay. Has maintenance issues of the guest rooms, especially the air conditioning units that are causing mold and mildew in the rooms, and maintenance of the pool facilities. I am not sure what is going on at this hotel, but, I assure you that my husband and I will not stay at Lakeway Resort in the future .

Yelp
Great experience! Went on a Mother and son trip with 6 moms and 6 teens. Staff was wonderful! Very friendly. The resort is very well kept and clean. Fitness center was really nice! And the teens really enjoyed the pools and rec center. Rooms are very spacious! Would def go back.

Yelp
We recently held a conference at the resort ( March 2025). The restaurant is poorly staffed so a meal will take a really long time (60-90) minutes. We had a written contract for breakfast, a 2 hour coffee bar and lunch For 2 days. My 2 hour coffee bar was contracted for 4 gallons of coffee. They billed us for 6 gallons Each day. Most attendees had coffee with their breakfast from 6:30-7:30. We had 68 people. If a cup is 8 oz then a gallon is 16 cups. They are claiming we used 96 cups of coffee for a total of $717.49 which comes out to $7.47 a cup! I doubt we used that plus I specifically wrote in the contract only 4 gallon! any more would need approval from me. Does it sound like I gave consent? This happened on two days!! That equals $1434.98 just for 2 hours of coffee for 68 people some of which had already had coffee a few minutes before I disputed the bill but they refused to remove the extra charge of $478.32. We are a non-profit. Buyer beware. We will not go back. Their website stated they are 20 min from downtown ( the truth is it is 45-50 min) taxi from airport can range from $57 to $127!) let your attendees know ahead. Use their buffet service as the food was on time and tasty.

Yelp
I chose Lakeway Resort & Spa for our birthday weekend getaway. This was a mother daughter trip to Hill Country, and the area was picturesque with plenty hills, rocky landscape and calming water. The resort is nestled in the middle of a nice neighborhood. We were celebrating my mom's milestone birthday. We went the last weekend of January so it was cooler weather but a relatively mild weekend, which was perfect for the time we spent in the heated adult-only whirlpool, located near the pools. The grounds were nice and well-kept with easily accessible parking, decent amenities and friendly, accommodating staff. Everyone working the front desk & lobby area was warm. Elvis, who is raved about in several reviews, was the real deal and just as described! From the time we pulled up for check-in & offloading our luggage, he was super friendly, jovial and helpful in getting us all set. Using the open key app I was able to check in and get my digital key hours early, but it was also a slower weekend. I could see how the resort would be suitable for corporate groups, weddings, group trips and family gatherings. The spa experience was also quite nice with the option of a complimentary beverage (water, wine, or bubbly), more lake views, showers, lockers and a sauna. We took advantage of the hot stone and therapeutic massages but there are plenty other options available. You're pretty much paying for the ambiance/staff/amenities. The gym, located directly across from the spa, was also top of the line with ample fitness equipment including pelotons, as well as towels and water. I specifically requested a room with a lakeside view and balcony. We ended up on the 4th floor which is the same level as the main lobby. The view of the water was so calming and probably one of the best features of our stay. Our curtains often stayed open for beautiful sunsets and sunrises! While you can tell from the rooms that the building may not be the "newest" resort, our room was still clean with comfortable beds and high ceilings. The walls are a bit thin (overhearing neighbors) like most hotels, and don't expect the bathroom to be huge but still worked fine for the two of us. The pillows were awesome and housekeeping managed to sneak in during the day and still tidy up our room and do bed service for the night. Not sure if this was attributed to the slower traffic that weekend but with covid precautions I wasn't expecting it. We only dined once at the TR restaurant for breakfast which was okay. I had "Martha's Migas" and my mom had a made-to-order veggie omelet. Both came with yummy potatoes. Reservations were not required. While the food wasn't cheap, you can either charge the booking account or pay separately. For all our other meals we either ventured off the property or ordered delivery. More lovely Lake views can be viewed from the dining room. Every night they have a firepit from like 5-9p in which you can use the s'mores kits and offer cookies in the lobby in the evening. I never experienced either but was still a nice addition. Overall our stay at Lakeview was relaxing, quiet and cozy. From the spa to the front desk the staff was overall professional - some masked some not - but certainly there to assist with whatever is needed! I'm sure the pool area is popping during warmer months and the nearby marina would be great for checking out any boat rides or water sports. I could see this being a fun family (or adult only) getaway with all the pools, lounge areas, Lakeview deck and marina access. Some additional planned activities would be nice, but I would stay here again.

Yelp
Beautiful location. Huge rooms, with lovely views of the lake. Lots of pools. Friendly staff. But it's definitely showing its age. Lots of small issues with the rooms (a little mold, dirty spots in the carpet, loud AC) add up to a 2 or 3-star experience. Tiny TVs too, if that matters to you. And no Nickelodeon, just a few basic cable channels. No streaming options either. You're probably not here for the TV but after a long day at the pool, you might want it to be a little newer. Food and drink was overpriced - cocktails in the $15-17 range, unremarkable breakfast buffet for $25, that kind of thing. No real standouts. The pools were nice, but also showing their age. Tears in some of the chairs (and not enough lounge chairs - this place needs a much bigger pool deck for the number of rooms). The middle pool needs to be resurfaced. But my daughter loved the water slide, and I loved the pool bar. Tons of older kids between 10 and 16.

Josh R.

Yelp
Super nice hotel. Loved the view of the lake from our room and from the massive pool area. Our kids loved the big bounce house.

Yelp
I called it week in advance before staying here and asked the receptionist if they have hard or soft water. She lied to me and I woke up this morning with a breakout on my face and I never break out so don't listen to the receptionist. Also, she was super rude. When we checked in she was rude to my brother when he checked in separate for me and then she was rude to me.

Yelp
Went for a spa day with some girlfriends. Not one of us felt our experience was worth the price. I'll attest to mine: paid for a deep tissue/"therapeutic" massage. Was asked about focus areas and I requested attention to my lower back. The massage was Swedish at best, but in general was a glorified oil rubbing. One or two gentle swipes along the lower back at the most. The therapist did not respond to polite requests for more focus or pressure. It became so awkward that I just wanted it over with. Friends' experiences were similar. One had her entire face suddenly slathered with coconut oil without consent during her massage. Weird. The massage rooms had partial walls and you could hear each booth's (different) music all clashing together, as well as clear voices and doors opening and closing. The indoor lounge area was tiny and crowded so we didn't feel comfortable sticking around to finish our water/bubbly because women were pouring in and having to stand around. The view of Lake Travis from the lounge was beautiful though! Unfortunately the view isn't enough for me to return for a $300+ oil rub.

Yelp
Love the views and convenience to Lakeway Marina. The hotel staff and facilities are nice and we loved their bar overlooking the lake. The one thing I would improve is the mattresses. Our bed was very uncomfortable and that just made for a less than perfect stay.
google avatar

Sha P.

Yelp
The views are lovely if your room is lakeside even though the water level appeared very low. The room looked like it had been updated but still was a little dated in the bathroom. We enjoyed watching the sunset on the back balcony by the bar while having a night cap. Our biggest disappointment was that the adult-only pool with the swim up bar, and hot tub too, were closed and we didn't find out until we arrived to check in. Yellow tape was draped across closed paths making it look like a crime scene. I would recommend no more than two or three days here. We walked the Hamilton Greenbelt trails and they were really nice with a couple of pretty waterfalls. Go to Oasis Restaurant for an awesome view of the lake at sunset. The food was okay. About 20 minutes from Lakeway Resort. Worth the drive.

Yelp
A beautiful resort. We only stayed for one night but had a pleasant time. The rooms are spacious and we slept well. I'm not sure why other reviews stated the rooms were "dated". Minus the tvs that could use an update. My only complaint is the resort "fee". I feel like this should be implemented in the price you are already paying for your reservation. Other than that, we would return if we decide to stay in the area again.

Yelp
While the view of the lake was nice, the "resort" itself was old and dirty. To be clear, this isn't a resort. It was a three star hotel on its best day. Everything from the carpet to the paint is over due for a tune up. Our room was spacious but empty and sad looking. There was only one bedside table and light (which was odd) and the light switches were absolutely disgusting and dirty. The bathroom floor was stained and there was no fan in the bathroom so it was muggy and wet. Now to get to the surroundings. So many guests were drunk. One lady was passed out on an chair and staff had to take her belongings away and call her husband to come get her. Another couple were being sexual in the hot tub and another man feel over in the hallway because he was so drunk. On the second floor, which you must traverse to get to the pool, someone was smoking weed in their room so the entire hallway smelled like marijuana. Needless to say, we aren't returning.

Yelp
Nice balcony view of lake. Deer feeding right below our room. Rooms could use some updating. Mid size. Roads were under construction in front of resort. Restaurant served an average smash burger and ceasar salad. Service was below average. Was never offered a refill for our drink. Waiters seemed more occupied with tables that had ordered drinks. Each day the resort offers activities: competitions, pool activities and at night smores. We did not participate and ventured out instead to Wimberly and Austin.

Yelp
This is my favorite place to do a spa appointment and then relax by the pool. The views are great and there is a swim up bar. A swim up bar always makes me feel like I'm on vacation, even for the day. I've been to Miravel and Lake Austin Spa and I actually prefer this as a day spa. I live in the area and haven't stayed overnight at any of the local spas.

Yelp
We went for a day pass and it was amazing!! The drinks were amazing, food was great, plenty of chairs, water, towels. Highly recommend

Yelp
A good resort and spa getaway, but they have very few activities and things to do other than their infinity pool. It is too expensive for the price you're paying. If you come here, I would only stay one night. Even that one night will cost you $500 and above. The rooms are not clean either, we found a spot on our comforter. Neither is the resort modern or well-kept.

Yelp
Michelle and Katie were amazing and helped me relax, even when I misread my appointment time and showed up 15 minutes late! I'll be back soon!

Yelp
We planned to stay at the Lakeway Resort and Spa because we were hosting a wedding at another location, 7 minutes away. We were trying to manage about 20 rooms with about 30-40 guests for our wedding. The hotel refused to help us manage this at all. They acted like it was an inconvenience and told us we all just need to go on the website to book our rooms. I actually met with a girl in sales (I believe her name was Alexis). She was so rude to my mother in law and myself when we came in to the hotel to talk about reserving rooms. She actually tried to direct us to another hotel to book our rooms instead. When we explained we weren't interested in another hotel, we are booking rooms at the Lakeway Resort because it's a full service hotel, Alexis just kept repeating herself like a broken record, trying to direct us somewhere else. She offered no assistance with booking at the resort or any resources in aiding us with what we needed. We were dumbfounded after our meeting with her. I've never been to a hotel that is so in-hospitable . The staff here just simply do not care to make any kind of effort with guests. The bartenders do not make eye contact with you and have no personality. The service is slow. The restaurant is not good. The restaurant staff is aloof. The drinks at the bar are quite weak. The food is overpriced and mediocre at best. The breakfast is very underwhelming. My room was run down, and there were cigarette butts and trash on the patio when we checked-in. The best part of our stay - Elvis. Elvis is the only person that acts like he knows how to work at a hotel and understands customer service. He's always smiling, friendly, remembers your name, and is more than willing to help you with whatever you're needing. He's truly the best person this hotel has. I cannot say enough good things about Elvis. I was told this hotel is due for a renovation soon. A few suggestions: 1. All new staff. Definitely new management, you need people that are helpful and caring. Train your bartenders to be more attentive and personable. Keep/promote Elvis, he is a total pro . 2. The hallways feel like a dark dungeon 3. The deer walked up to my patio, as I was on the first floor. This was lovely and really made me enjoy the scenery more. It would be nice to have signage around stating what to feed and what not to feed the deer. Deer are vegetarians and seemed to enjoy human interaction and were looking for snacks. It would be nice to have nuts and berries for sale in the hotel for people to safely feed the deer if they choose to do so.

Yelp
I truly have mixed feelings about this place. The facility itself is beautiful. The views are serene and you can definitively enjoy a nice sunset from any of their common areas facing the lake. Unfortunately for us, we checked in on a cold windy day and the pool was less than enjoyable (not their fault). We also visited during off peak days. The pro to that, we had the kids pool to ourselves. It was quiet and peaceful. The con, none of their advertised pool side restaurants/bars were open. The pools are divided between adult side and kids side. Some will find that very convenient. I know I did. Other than the pool, there is really nothing much to do. If you plan on spending a week here, you may want to reconsider. It will get boring soon. We only stayed two nights and I felt that was just perfect. Plan on bringing your own food. Rooms have a fridge, which is very convenient. No microwave. I say this because if you spend more than 2 days here and you plan on not leaving the hotel much you will be stuck with their restaurant's minimalistic menu options. Seriously, the only pasta dish they serve is Pappardelle. Which comes with four shrimps. The hotel seems old and has normal wear an tear. Like any other hotel, they don't spend much money fixing the rooms up. Now, for a room at $375/night plus tax and fees, the room could've been better. The attention to detail was not there at all. How hard is it to refresh the caulking in your rooms every once in a while? All in all, it wasn't a bad experience. However, I don't think I'll choose to stay here again.

Yelp
WARNING - FOOD POISONING It's hard to call this place a resort when the pool looks decrepit and the only option for food will make you sick. The resort did eventually partially reconcile with me, however, it took a great deal of effort on my end.

Yelp
We came here for our anniversary and were very happy with the resort. Being one of the only hotels on the water & while it is an older hotel, the views and services made it worthwhile. The staff running the restaurant were amazing and super attentive. Got the exact room we asked for too. We also got a couples massage at the spa which was really amazing. No coed lounges but it's a shared balcony area to enjoy with free champagne toast offered after your services. The pool area is really cool with multiple pools (adult, kid friendly, etc) including a swim up bar. Parking is free with resort fee but tougher to find a close spot if you arrive late in the day. The marina is just below the resort if you'd like to go out on the lake (we rented a jet ski). Loved our experience with so much to do on property plus driving distance to great restaurants.

Yelp
Dirty. Dingy. Disappointing. It felt more like a motel than an "resort". Property is outdated and poorly maintained. In desperate need of a renovation. Checked out a day early. Would not go back or recommend.

Yelp
Love the view and location . The facilities are nice but... No daily room service? TV service channel selection is rudimentary. No bar/food service at pool? Place is under staffed. Workout gym closed when they are open elsewhere now? Spa closed so there went our massage's...its my 40th... So I wish we had known and we would've gone somewhere else a we paid full price for room.... Restraunt food was horrible so have to go into town which defeats the purpose of staying here. Also, requested foam pillows. It was our 40th Anniversary Luckily I had my wife to look at!

Yelp
Very Disappointed. We stayed at Lakeway Resort and Spa for our 36 anniversary. And our weekend was a nightmare. It felt more like a motel than a "resort". We did not sleep because the air conditioner was so loud, it sounded like a jet was landing in the room all night. I reported it twice, once to the selfie-taking front desk attendant and again to the sleeping night front desk attendant but nothing was done. Neither offered to move us to another room. One of them even said, "Yeah we have had complaints about that room and he would let the manager know at 9:00 when she comes in". The room was also not what we expected for the price they charged. The property needs to be updated and better maintained.

Yelp
There are 2 purposes in this review: 1 as we've stayed there a half-dozen times during the past few years and 2 as we were planning for a big family party there in August. I'm going to start with 2 as it is incredible. A few weeks ago we had to cancel a big family shindig scheduled for August in Austin to celebrate milestone birthdays. While we had planned for family to travel from all over for 4 days of fun on Lake Travis, we just didn't think it wise or prudent to do so. Disappointed, you bet. But I want to give a HUGE SHOUT OUT to Lakeway Resort since they released us from our contract with no costs. They understood and willingly agreed this fell under "act of God". I hope if you're ever in Austin or the Lakeway area that you'll stay with them. They completely cancelled the reservation for 14 rooms for the 4 nights with no penalty and fully refunded our deposit. We were stunned. They were so understanding. They went beyond and above. As to staying there, we have always enjoyed our stays. The rooms are bigger than most and comfortable. And the views are spectacular. The pool is amazing. Maybe a bit cold in the fall but overall great. Workout facility is fine. Kid Zone is amazing. Staff is friendly. Food is ok (might wish for another option that's more casual) and especially the breakfast buffet is worth it. Eventually we will return not only for fun but hope to reschedule our family party in a year or so.

Yelp
We chose this resort because it was pet friendly. We were informed pet friendly rooms were on the 1st floor which I thought was convenient. After checking in, we headed to our room which we thought was on the "1st" floor meaning the same floor as the lobby meaning easy access outisde. The 1st floor was actually underground, 2 floors down from the lobby without straight forward access to the outside for the pets. It was quite inconvenient. We had to either take the elevators up or use the stairs to take our dogs out. Our room would have a view if the trees outside the balcony were trimmed. The room was spacious, carpet needs to be changed. The restroom is very outdated and multiple towels had stains. I didn't make a big deal about that. It wasn't a busy weekend when we stayed so at least it was nice and quiet.

Yelp
Do not stay at this resort they have terrible customer service. We were staying here for my daughter's wedding. In a poorly lit bar area I took a very serious fall that required me to be transported to the hospital by ambulance. Two of the employees that were working in the area Told my family that this happens all the time on that particular step because it's not marked and it blends into the floor. I was very banged up and had to have a lot of x-rays and CAT scans, etc., and almost missed my daughter's wedding. This resort never reached out to me to see if I was OK After I was taken to the hospital by ambulance. Even when I checked out and my face was black and blue and had all sorts of cuts on it as did my neck no one ever ask if I was OK. They turned my case over to their insurance company, Gallagher and Bassett, who are probably the worst insurance company on the face of the Earth. They promptly paid Medicare so they wouldn't get in trouble by the government, but they have never paid me back my expenses. They come up with every reason in the world not to pay me and it's been almost a year. Every time I call and talk to them I get passed off on someone else. It's probably time that I find an attorney to help me. However, you would've expected Lakeway resort and spa to do the right thing. But they do not again their customer service is horrible. And they ruined my daughter's wedding. Do not stay at this resort.
