This little hotel was a great find. It's an old building stunningly and sensitively restored, with a hidden tree in its interior. The eye is delighted at every turn by paintings, artworks and books. Breakfast was on a small scale but beautifully fresh and perfectly plentiful. The staff were delightful without exception but we would like to thank Sylvia who greeted us warmly on our arrival and Martina who took over from her for breakfast service in particular. The hotel is located in the old town very close to the port. It was lovely area in which to wander. We would highly recommend it.

We are so pleased we chose this hotel. The staff couldn’t be nicer and more helpful. We had a car and had pre booked the car park (which you must do as they only have three). We were sent a map so we could find the place but a bit of panic meant we reverted to Google maps and made a long journey through one way streets. If/when I return I would set Google maps up to ‘stop’ at every street on the hotels map and it will be fine. The street the hotel is on is narrow and there isn’t great parking. You are best to leap our, leave any luggage you can and they will give you a map and a key for the car park. Or..arrive by public transport!!||English is spoken well here if that is importantly to you. They have a list of recommended restaurants and in our 2 nights and 2 days we experienced three of them. All were fabulous but I suggest you ask the hotel to make reservations. We were lucky to secure tables in all three.||There is no lift so bear this in mind if reserving a bigger room as they are on higher floors. We were on floor three. Our room was spacious with rooftops out the window and a surprise kitchenette. The bathroom was spacious and housekeeping efficient . Very keen to clean so make sure you use the do nit disturb tag if you aren’t quite ready!||There is a self service laundromat over the road which was super useful…so we washed our clothes while having breakfast.||We really enjoyed Trieste and would, love to return and this hotel would be our first choice.

Highly recommended to stay with their apartments - L’Albero Nascosto Hotel. |Stayed one of their apartments for 4 nights, a real jam, a place to return to. Location is very convenient, walking distance to visit Piazza Unita d’Italia, Piazza della Borsa, Ponte Bianco etc. |There are many good restaurants and coffee places nearby. |If you don’t expect a grand hotel, you’ve come to the right place.

This boutique hotel is a true gem. Located in the old town, everything is within walking distance. Decorated with style to perfection and with the friendliest staff ever! Plus the most thorough daily cleaning I have ever seen, done during my breakfast. My singleroom had a small glassed balcony with a kitchenette, table and chair, a place to sit and enjoy a coffe and the hidden tree (l'albero nascosto). Very good breakfast with a huge selection of excellent jam and honey and some crusty delicious bread. It is seldom the aircon is cold enough for us from the North, my room had it. Loved my stay here!

This hotel has exceeded our expectations (which were high from the description) in every way. The room was large and cool, there are intriguing nik naks and architecture all across it. For me, the stand out was an array of honeys collected from tens of different nectars, available to select at breakfast. Never before have I experienced such a unique opportunity and I wanted to stay all day with a tasting card ....

Our room was spacious with a good sized bathroom and a separate kitchen. The bed was big and very comfortable. We had a hearty breakfast of cereal, yoghurt, cheese and meat plus much more on offer if required together with great coffee. Each morning the team would spend time helping us with activities for the day and reservations as necessary. Would definitely stay here again

A wonderful stay. Did not want to leave! Very helpful staff. (Forgot my Kindle and they ran it to the train station for me, after calling me when they found it). Nice neighborhood with several excellent restaurants. Good breakfast!

Yelp
Lovely family run, boutique hotel within walking distance of the main Piazza, restaurants etc. Family were very helpful with dinner and lunch suggestions and advice on places to visit. The room was charming with a small kitchenette. Breakfast each morning was very fresh and delicious.

Yelp
This is a wonderful hotel. The location is ideal - walking distance to everything. Our room was perfect; very comfortable, good lighting, sitting area, pleasant view. Breakfast is on the ground floor - and it is charming. At times I felt like I was at someone's home. The staff is very helpful. They gave us good suggestions as to things to do, and where to go. They made restaurant reservations for us and told us about other good places to visit. We felt very welcomed. This hotel is perfect.

Yelp
I don't think we've ever stayed anywhere we've liked as much as this. We felt completely at home from the moment we arrived - to a lovely welcome from Mima who had previously taken the trouble to advise us on our transfer from the station. Our room was absolutely perfect - on the very top floor, this was a large attic space with plenty of room for us not to trip over each other (we stayed 5 nights so it was important not to feel too cramped) and decorated quite beautifully - it was a joy to inhabit. A lovely, spacious bathroom with efficient shower and usefully large washbasin, plus clever storage built into the wall for our toiletries. Reception closes at 2000 hrs but the system for out-of-hours access couldn't be simpler - just turn over the room key and it opens the front door. After all that - how could it get better? With breakfast - that's how! L'albero Nascosto provides what must be the best breakfast in Italy - delicious coffee, cereals, nuts, fruit (dried and fresh), yoghurt, pastries and even eggs if required (we didn't) as well as the hugest selection of jams. What a way to start a day of sightseeing. When we left to come back to England, we did so with great regret - this truly is an absolute gem of a place and I'd recommend it to anyone who wants the perfect base from which to explore lovely Trieste. Thank you to EVERYONE at l'albero Nascosto - you gave us a wonderful time. We were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary and we couldn't have chosen anywhere better to do it.
