"Why we love it: A unique, colorful property that brings together Italy, Bali, and Grenada The Highlights: - Romantic cottages that are perfect for couples - Daily yoga classes in a beachfront pavilion - An Asian-inspired spa with its own organic garden The Review: If you’re seeking that “shack on the beach” feeling without the actual shack, look no further than Laluna. At this Design Hotel, 16 romantic cottages overlook the ocean, each with an open-air shower, spacious deck, and four-poster bed surrounded by dreamy netting. A combination of Italian, Balinese, and Caribbean styles, the interiors come courtesy of owner Bernardo Bertucci, who served as a consultant for Prada and Armani in a past life. If you’d prefer something sleeker, the hotel also has several contemporary villas, which offer slightly less character but a lot more luxury, including multiple bedrooms, fully equipped kitchens, and private, full-size pools. Villa guests also have access to personal chefs, butlers, and trainers for an extra fee. Bertucci’s mix of European, Indonesian, and island elements carries over to Laluna’s thatched-roof restaurant and sunset lounge, which offers authentic Italian cuisine with a Caribbean twist. It’s also evident at the spa, where Balinese massages incorporate Comfort Zone products from Italy and guests can practice yoga in a beachfront pavilion. Flexibility is key here—you can book a cottage on a European plan (accommodation only), combine it with breakfast and dinner, or go all-inclusive. Regardless of which you choose, however, activities like water sports, daily yoga, and mountain biking are always included. For an extra fee, guests can also book Laluna’s luxury catamaran for a sunset cruise and snorkeling adventure."

We had an exceptional stay here. Our cottage was fantastic with its own little dip pool, deck and view. The property offers beachfront swimming, an art studio, a spa, and a swimming pool with adjacent bar and covered sitting area. The grounds are extensive and are decorated with whimsical artwork and shaded paths to stroll. The restaurant was consistently excellent for all meals (however we only had breakfasts and dinners). While we love Grenada and often get out to explore the island, this property offers anything you could possibly want for a reclusive, restful getaway. But what impressed us the most was the manner in which all of the staff consistently went out of their way to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. To a person, they all seemed genuinely motivated to make our stay a great experience. And it was. We will certainly return and recommend LaLuna to friends and family.

I would describe Laluna as a rustic luxury hotel. Situated on a beautiful beach that feels practically private, there were many times that my husband and I were the only people I could see. The staff was welcoming and engaging, without ever feeling intrusive. We were welcomed by Tracy with rum punches, and relaxed near the covered, open air bar on a mix of Balinese style furnishings. Our luggage appeared in our room while we were taking in the beauty of the property. Lots of loungers available along the beach with palm frond umbrellas, as well as cabana style platforms with cushions. The cottage rooms all have small terraces facing the ocean, with daybeds and a plunge pool. The view felt like the most dreamworthy picture from a luxury travel blog. Yes, the bathroom/shower are open air, so if you're upset by existing for a few moments in the natural world, it might not be for you. But I was enchanted by hearing the frogs chirping and seeing the moon reflect on the ocean while I washed my hair. I'll never forget it. Bedroom area is climate controlled and comfortable. Service was lovely. Our room was magically transformed every evening while we were dining, so we returned to drawn curtains, turned down sheets, and the canopy draping released all around the bed. We enjoyed chatting and laughing with Kelva, our breakfast server. I would absolutely recommend this hotel for a down to earth, tropical luxury experience.

Our experiment purchasing a gold day pass was one that we enjoyed so much, we’ve done it twice this year! The staff are so friendly, drinks wonderful, and sceneries unforgettable! Some of the best pumpkin soup and massages in my entire life.

We wife and I stayed at Laluna recently for a short stay – three nights – and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We’ve been to Grenada 4 or 5 times now and love everything about the island. But I think to get good service you need to stay at one of the smaller hotels and the service at the restaurant and bar and room service were all excellent and very attentive at Laluna. The property is very well maintained, and the beach is beautiful. As the hotel is on the smaller size and quite private, there is enough room on the beach for everyone and there is no need to stress out about getting a lounge chair on the beach or by the pool. (None of that ridiculousness of getting up early to put a towel on a beach chair to reserve it for the day.) For breakfast, lunch and dinner, the food in the restaurant was great with enough variety to vary our meals while we were there. Everything meal was very enjoyable. The rooms are very comfortable – as are the beds which were harder than we are used to, but still very comfortable. Overall, I would characterize the hotel as ‘rustic luxury’ – which may not be what others are looking for but was perfect for us.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Laluna Resort in Grenada and it was truly a magical experience. The resort's location directly on a private, gorgeous beach is truly breathtaking, offering stunning views and a peaceful atmosphere. The yoga session by the beach was relaxing and rejuvenating, and the Balinese spa looks lovely - I’ll definitely be back to get a treatment there. One unique feature that I loved was the enchanted forest art exhibition on the property, adding an extra charm and creativity to the surroundings. The Monkey Bar is a must-visit for delicious drinks and a fun, down to earth atmosphere. Not only is the location amazing, but the food at Laluna Resort is great as well, with a variety of fresh and flavorful dishes to choose from. The service was outstanding - the staff were friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to ensure a memorable time. I highly recommend Laluna Resort for anyone looking for a relaxing and authentic getaway in Grenada. It's a hidden gem that offers a perfect blend of natural beauty, great amenities, delicious food, and exceptional service.

LaLuna was maybe one of my favorite resorts. First off Grenada was a beautiful place to visit and the vast majority of local people we spoke to were incredibility friendly and hospitable. We stayed in a deluxe cottage with Caribbean Sea View which was truly amazing. I would classify as refined rustic. The views from your front porch, your bed, and even your open air but enclosed shower are incredible. I would have loved air conditioning in the bathroom, but the unit in the bedroom would have to suffice. Although there is only one restaurant the food was excellent with enough options for several meals there that week. The service was second to none. Everyone was extremely friendly and none of it felt forced or contrived. Although the pool and beach area is smaller, there is no need for anything more since it is so private with so few guests. Definitely visit the spa! The Balinese Couples Massage was incredible. We will definitely be returning and cannot say enough good things about the resort or the staff.

Laluna is beautiful private beach resort! The staff is beyond amazing! Dwight, Trish and the rest of the staff were very friendly and hospitable! Tracey took care of our every need right down to private beachfront dinner for our anniversary. The private Balinese style villa with plunge pool is a perfect for a couples getaway. Laluna Is definitely one of the hidden treasures of Grenada! Thank you again to everyone at Laluna for making our anniversary unforgettable!

Looking for a fantastic place to release stress and anxiety and reconnect to the world? We were, and spending a week at Laluna Resort worked wonders. The spot is unique: a secluded beach bounded by two promontories where tropical trees grow in the sand offering a calming shade, the water is emerald and pristine and the only sound you may hear comes from the birds, the wind blowing through the leaves and the gentle lapping of the waves. The resort is beautifully embedded in the rock, perfectly in tune with the nature all round. Super clean and kept superbly well. The staff is amazing, friendly, polite, and always available. Although there are outside restaurants around, we ended up eating at the resort, since we liked the atmosphere and the food, of course: an interesting combination of Italian cousins mixed with tropical flavors. |What else??? Ah, yes: Bravi, Bernardo e Wendy, a presto!| Kip & Cristina
