Lamberts Cove Inn was a tremendous experience. We stayed as part of a wedding May 24 to May 26, with all events taking place at the Inn. The rehearsal dinner in the garden offered wonderful food in a beautiful setting. The breakfast and lunch the next day offered many items baked at the inn, all delicious. The wedding ceremony in the garden was absolutely a beautiful setting. The reception near the llamas was a wonderfully unique experience with tasty appetizers. The most amazing experience was the reception. The food served, beginning with scallops over risotto and followed by roast duck (my spouse had swordfish) was beyond outstanding…Michelin star quality. All of this wonderful experience was delivered by Inn Keepers, Galin (also the executive chef) and Brigid (gardener/amazing florist) and their outstanding team who acted in various roles to make the experience of the guests exceptional!!! In addition, our accommodations were top rate in a great room all our comforts considered.

I could not speak more highly of the team at Lambert’s Cove Inn. They are the most incredible set of skilled professionals that made my wedding weekend, the most incredible weekend for not only myself, but also for all my guests that stayed at the Inn and for all my guests that celebrated with us at the Inn. From start to finish, the team at Lambert’s Cove made us feel right at home and cared for! From the food, stay, coordination, and florals, my husband and I have no other words other than thank you to this incredible team. Each one of our guests were in awe of the hospitality and described the weekend nothing short of magical. They were the most perfect venue, and they filled in each gap that we could (and could not) imagine. We cannot recommend Lambert’s Cove Inn enough, and we wanted to especially thank Bridget, Jess, and Galen!!! It takes a village to plan a wedding, and we are so grateful Lambert’s Cove were the backbone of our village!

Beautiful and quaint. Back in the woods off the bustle of the island. Stayed in the main house which was brightly decorated with flowers. The staff was fantastic, especially Meredith! We loved the breakfast in the charming dining room. While the restaurant was still closed for the season, we could tell it would have been a spectacular experience.

We were delighted with our stay at LCI in this beautiful area on Martha's Vineyard.|We traveled to a quiet tree lined road at the end of which appeared a gracious Inn with gardens bursting with blooms, alpacas, and a lovely pool to enjoy.||We loved: Lauren and Silas' warm welcome on our arrival, our gorgeous suite overlooking the gardens, Concierge Meredith's guidance with maps, beach chairs, directions and dining suggestions; Chef Galen's fabulous breakfast buffet with home made scones, followed by insanely good carrot ginger soup and his signature sea bass in the evening, add to that a swoon worthy beach within walking distance, all in all this was an incredible experience! ! I can't imagine staying anywhere else on the island.

This place is a total gem. It’s in the middle of the forest, and peaceful. There’s a gorgeous garden full of flowers (the innkeeper is an amazing gardener too), a big outdoor space to relax, and even a swing that makes you feel like a kid again.||Inside, there’s a sitting room where you can grab tea or coffee any time of day or night, and it’s the perfect place to chill. They have alpacas! They really, really fun.||There’s direct access to a walking trail right from the inn, and it’s in a great location if you want to explore the rest of the island too.||Breakfast is amazing—really tasty homemade baked goods, both sweet and savory, and homemade granola. You can also book dinner at the inn’s restaurant, and it was fantastic. Super fresh, flavorful, and beautifully done.

Truly the most exquisite slice of paradise. The property is gorgeous, food is delish, and feels like a warm hug— the small touches and hospitality are above and beyond. We can’t wait to come back.

Lambert's Cove beach is one of our favorites, but it requires a pass during the summer. Fortunately we were told that if we stayed at the Lambert's Cove Inn we could get one, so we decided to cancel our other plans and give the Inn a try. We are so happy that we did! Jen cheerfully greeted us and arranged for a room, which was a lovely spot with a fenced-in porch a short walk from the main house. The location is so peaceful and quiet - tucked away in the forest so that you feel like you are miles away, while in truth it's still quite convenient to other locales. The grounds are exquisite with lovely flowers, the natural landscape integrated perfectly, and a feeling of perfect harmony and tranquility - all lovingly tended by Bridget, innkeeper and master gardener and her team. The pool was such a pleasant surprise (since there are not many on the Vineyard that we know of), and we spent a good amount of time relaxing and swimming in the well-maintained garden pool. We extended our stay twice because we liked it so much, and we were blessed to be there for the seasonal grand-opening of the Woods restaurant. Bridget's husband Galen is the head chef and his multi-course prix fix menu was extraordinary! It was beautiful to look at, it smelled wonderful, and the taste surpassed it all. The staff was so knowledgeable and helpful, and the setting is refined and natural, leading to a perfectly relaxed and extended dining experience. We count ourselves lucky to have stayed, dined, and enjoyed the inn. We are especially blessed to have become friends with Galen and Bridget and we cannot wait to return. Rosanna and I heartily recommend a visit for a stay, for dinner, or better yet for both!

My wife and I spent five wonderful days in May at Lambert’s Cove Inn.  I have been to the Vineyard many times but this was my first stay there. The Inn is a peaceful getaway and stress buster.  Jennifer Knowles made sure my arrival went smoothly and provided us lots of information from ferry schedules to local wine shops. The inn keepers Bridget and Galen and their two dogs were gracious hosts.  Galen is also the chef at Woods Restaurant.  While Lambert’s Cove is a jewel, the unsung hero at Lambert’s Cove is Woods. We tried a few iconic restaurants on the Island but returned to Woods twice for dinner. The restaurant has a well curated wine list courtesy of Jennifer Knowles (who should be a sommelier) and Galen is an excellent chef. The lobster bisque was incredible. We had Chickpea – Heart of Palm cake and swordfish the first night and two black bass on the second night. The fish was purchased daily at one of the fish markets in Menemsha and Galen cooked them to perfection. If you are looking for crab cake on the menu, Galen will only make crab cake when he finds good crabmeat. We enjoyed talking to Galen when he checked in on us.  I will go back and hope to be lucky one day to try one of his crab cakes.

Yelp
Amazing food, kind staff, beautiful property, cute alpacas, a nice pool, cozy, peaceful, what more could you want? I was a bridesmaid in a friend's wedding and had the pleasure of staying here for the events. I totally wish I could have stayed longer, and was sad to leave. They did an incredible job making my friend's wedding weekend special and enjoyable for all. I would absolutely recommend this inn for any occasion.

Yelp
My friends and I went to The Woods restaurant at Lambert's Cove Inn for our girls trip garden party themed dinner. The fixed price dinner was absolutely amazing (especially the blackberry short ribs and the lamb appetizer) and the service was awesome. The hostess took us on a tour of the garden grounds and took pictures for us to ensure a memorable experience. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
A perfect meal: four courses, each of which distinguished by ingenuity, presentation and taste, make dinner at The Woods at Lambert's Cove Inn a delightful experience. There are people who say that it's hard to get good value for a meal on the island of Martha's Vineyard. They haven't been to The Woods.

Yelp
This restaurant is excellent!!! It's located on a long deserted road but once you find it, it's so worth it. Each course was better than the next. Just absolutely fantastic. This is a great date night spot or great if you just want to chill with friends. I will definitely visit again.

Yelp
Our party of four had an outstanding meal at Lamberts Cove. It was the first time there for all of us and we were very impressed, everything was delicious. There is both a prix fixe menu and ala carte items. We sampled a range of items, the sea bass, duck and short ribs were delicious. Everyone's favorite item was a small pumpkin stuffed with wild mushrooms, with some sauce of pure deliciousness. Out of pure curiosity we ordered a serving of the Mac and cheese with blue cheese and pasta, let's just say it disappeared. Our main question on an off season friday night was, why aren't more people here?

Chris S.

Yelp
One of my all time great meals. You need to come here for dinner before it gets so popular you can't get in.

Yelp
What an amazing Martha's Vineyard experience! The energy, the ambiance, the people and the food contributed to an amazing culinary experience! From our server Moshe to our BIPOC LGBTQ executive staff, we were welcomed with open arms to all of our tummy's delight. Latisha, the executive chef, brought a little of her Memphis roots to this farm to table experience. I highly recommend the yellowfin tuna crudo, the heirloom tomato and burrata salad, the off the hook beef short ribs and the chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream and bourbon caramel was slamming! I can't say enough good things about this place. Trust me...you won't be disappointed!!!

Yelp
We had a perfect dinner here. A prix fixe four course dinner - really memorable. The garden was gorgeous, the service was attentive and timely without being obsequious or rushed. Ok -- here's the tour of what I ate, and I recommend ALL of it. First course: lobster/scallop gazpacho with tomatoes and bean sprouts. MMM. Next up: salad course - a really super fresh and light garden salad with a citrus-y vinaigrette (maybe some basil in there? Delish). Next, the main: short ribs braised with something sweet and tangy and served over a scrumptious corn mash with asparagus and green beans and this meat was so tender I didn't ever think of touching a knife. THEN THE DESSERT. Holy shit, that was good. I had the key lime pie which had literally the best graham cracker crust ever and my husband had the flourless chocolate cake which was perfection. We also were treated to lavender shortbread which was dreamy and cupcake like, just the right amount of extra sweet. I think the pastry chef at this place ROCKS. She's going places. Thanks, Ella and Lambert's Cove - the whole experience was truly perfect.

Yelp
It's been a few years since we had dinner here but we will be back soon! They are open till sometime in November. The food was amazing. Lightly seasoned (just enough, not too much). We started with a delicious Watermellon Gaspacho (excellent). Followed by crisp fresh salad. For an entree my husband chose the Sea Bass, I had the Pan Seared Chick Pea cake. There is a wonderful wine list. All in all it was a lovely experience. In warmer weather you can choose to dine outside in the beautiful gardens.

Yelp
One of the most incredible dining experiences of our stay at Martha's Vineyard this year! The new chef and innkeeper have teamed up to create an amazing culinary delight! Highly recommend!

Yelp
This place is so adorable and idyllic, I had high hopes. But although the ambiance and setting is delightful, the service was straight out of a nightmare. We showed up on a slow night and are understanding that the island is suffering a worker shortage due to Covid. However, the poor service was beyond the pale. We waited over an hour and only had our first course. Typically with a prix fixe menu, it's pretty quick and easy. By hour two we still hadn't seen our third course and I was borderline simmering. Waitstaff bumbled around, acting perplexed or indifferent to the growing chorus of upset patrons. For $95 a head, I'd expect fairly upscale service. The worst part was that no apology or explanation was proffered. The food that did manage to make it out of our kitchen and to our table was lukewarm or outright cold. Pea soup and scallops, while potentially delicious, are less appetizing when served cold. The grounds of the property are beautiful, but I probably wouldn't stay here, as the building has seen better days. The base of the toilet in the bathroom was cracked all the way up the front, and toilet water was leaking all over the floor. I worked in the service industry for 10 years, so no one is more understanding than I am when it comes to a backed up kitchen, but this place needs to get its act together. I will never be back.

Yelp
Paid almost $400 for an extremely dirty room. The floors were disgusting, fridge smelt like death, bathtub had a green film and was cracked and leaking. Extremely disappointed in the false advertisement of the rooms. The main entry way and decor was beautiful then you walk into a poorly maintained room. The poor alpaca den was not cleaned anytime recently. The chickens had piles of poop in their coops. I was so sad to have not had a raving review of this establishment.

Alli H.

Yelp
I stayed here with my husband and was very underwhelmed by our stay. The rooms were clean and the staff was lovely but the inn is very neglected. You can tell it was once super nice and upscale but is now very tired. The pool area was nice but the hot tub has been turned into a gross looking coy pond. The complimentary breakfast was powdered eggs and sad looking sausages, potatoes, oat meal and Luke warm coffee. I would suggest just not having breakfast if it's that bad. This place has SO much potential and the property is gorgeous but it's very much in need of a facelift.

Yelp
No cleaning service in rooms and air conditioning didn't work in my room - it was like a sauna. Also, it's a trek to anywhere on island and the shuttle service isn't complimentary. Staff is really nice My bed wasn't made either day. That's not cleaning service.

Charlie E.

Yelp
What seems to have once been a charming inn, has certainly been long-neglected. The rooms are worn, with cracks in the molding, finicky locks that make it difficult to enter, sensitive toilets, tiny shower stalls with doors that don't fully close/seal, and rudimentary furnishing. Operated by a skeleton crew, the place feels almost abandoned. The restaurant was suddenly closed less than a week before our stay, leaving us little time to make alternative arrangements. The hot tub, too was closed. The staff was was friendly and proximity to Lambert's Cove Beach was great. At a lower price point, with realistic expectation-setting, this hotel would be just fine; but it's not marketing itself as that currently.

Yelp
Tilhis is under new mgmt. they do not have a clue. We were a family group of 7 for dinner, taking one family member out for a departure dinner. We are all Islanders we were ready to splurge. Waitress took our orders , I specifically asked price of pasta special and told it was $25. Some first courses arrived. We waited for what seemed an hour, waitress came and said orders were lost but they were working in it. After another long wait, 5 dinners came out. We were told the 2 missing wold be out shortly others finished the 5 dinners All of us just wanted to get out of there The pasty dish was 15 pieces of zite and a spoon full of sauce the bill charged us $35, and they would not adjust. The two with no dinners were very up set as I was. Complaining mgt fell on deaf ears. I asked if he was going toblet 7 very unhappy people leave with out any accommodation, The manager just nodded and said nothing Very un professional! Very sad

Yelp
Great inn on Martha's Vineyard! The owners and employees are so friendly, almost every room has fresh flowers and the living room in the main house is a great space to wind down, play some games and sit by the fire. Our room was the perfect size and the bed was super comfortable! We also had a private screened in porch. The inn is close enough to Oak Bluffs and Edgartown to have a night out but we also loved that it was in a quieter area where we could relax and see the calmer part of the island. There is plenty to explore right on the grounds - chickens, alpacas, a swing, a pool/hot tub for the warmer months. There is breakfast in the morning, a driver to bring you into town, electric bikes and a pass for the private beach nearby which was beautiful! We will be back!

Rebecca P.

Yelp
Stayed at Lambert's Cove Inn for the first time this weekend. Without a doubt, we'll be back again. The staff couldn't have been nicer, and so incredibly helpful! In a moments notice, they drove us down to the beach or out to Vineyard Haven or Oak Bluffs. When we were ready to head back, a quick phone call and they were on their way to get us. When heading to the beach they equipped us with towels, chairs and umbrella - made it so easy. The beach itself....a gem for sure! One of the nicest beaches on the island as I would hear from others. Walking around the property there are walking trails, a swimming pond that was heavenly. Truly - everything we needed! We can't wait to return again!

Yelp
We ate at Woods Restaurant at Lambert's Cove Inn tonight. We had the most amazing dinner. We had the local caught sea bass with a side of new potatoes, grilled corn on the cob, mussels and clams. I would travel back to this restaurant just for this meal. AMAZING! When we made the reservation, I wrote that this was a birthday celebration. They acknowledged that when we arrived. But, they made no note of it at dinner. If they had, the evening would have been perfect. Disappointed with what the new owners have done to the Lambert's Cove Inn. It used to be elegant. The decor is sad now; boring.

Yelp
The past 5 days I stayed at this Inn was so comfortable and healing after 2 months of doctor appts, tests and surgery from a breast cancer diagnosis. It completely relaxed and refreshed me. The property is so beautiful and spacious whether you want to sit out back in the shade and enjoy the alpacas or sit out front in the sun on a Adirondack chair or spend the day at the beautiful private beach. The room was clean and comfortable as was the main house. I enjoyed the A-Capella group Wed night in the garden and the fire pit at night. I shared dinner one night with my group in the Inn's Woods restaurant which was amazing. Each bite of each dish we shared left a delicious memory I will never forget. Can't wait to return to this piece of heaven.

Yelp
Lambert's Cove Inn is the perfect Martha's Vineyard retreat! The rooms are clean and comfortable with great little design touches like fresh flowers and mid-century style pieces of furniture. The main house and common areas are a great place to read, enjoy a drink after a day of exploring, mingle with the other guests, or play games with your friends and family. The staff are lovely and super accommodating! We visited during early spring and I can only imagine how beautiful this property will be once in full bloom. The grounds include a small farm with alpacas and chickens (bonus- fresh eggs), a fire pit, a tree swing, and beautiful sitting areas spread throughout. This is also one of the only places to stay on the island with a pool and hot tub- yet another bonus! If you are more of a beach person, you also get access to a pass for one of the most beautiful and secluded beaches I've been to in New England less than a mile from the inn! Lambert's Cove has something to offer everyone- it could be the most romantic getaway spot or just as easily a great place to bring your kids for a vacation on the island. We will definitely be returning!

Yelp
What an amazing inn! Just finishing up a great board retreat at this beautiful location. The accommodations for the retreat were perfect. A comfortable room to hold our meeting in, great food and wonderful personal rooms. Brother and sister team of John and Christina were amazing hosts! Thank you!
