Lamen Kazu

However, the pork wasn’t well-prepared, which was disappointing and brought the experience down a notch, so I’m giving it three stars. The ambiance was warm and pleasant, and aside from the issue with the pork, everything else was delightful!

Legendary ramen joint in the heart of Liberdade, the "chinatown" of São Paulo. This place is on par with the ramen joints I frequent in NYC. Make sure you get here early as this place doesn't take reservations and fills up really fast - especially on weekends at lunch time. I've lost count of how many times I've come here.

Great ramen in the heart of Liberdade. I have not explored much of this area of São Paulo, but the food was comparable to what I eat regularly in the SF Bay Area. Order came fast.

I was craving ramen so I stopped by Lamen Kazu due to the great reviews. I arrived a couple minutes before they opened and was able to grab a table once everyone was let in. There was a variety of items on the menu and I opted for the shio chashu ramen. The broth was clear and not too heavy but pretty salty. A little too much for me to sip and savor. The chashu was a little too lean for my liking. I like a bit more fat to make it more tender and melt in your mouth. Service was courteous and prompt. Ambiance was nice.

The chicken Katsu with curry is great. Enjoy an Antártica original beer with it. Great place to grab, eat and go.

I went on a thursday noon, so I had no wait to get a table, service was fast, ramen good as expected. I wanted to try some starter, but I saw that ramen was quite generous. Next time I may try some starter too. The place is clean and pleasant.

It was really a great experience and worth the hype! Good thing we arrived in the right time, an hour after the morning opening. There were already queues outside when we left the restaurant. Attached are the updated menu of the restaurant (January 9, 2022). Their ramen was really authentic. It was also served in huge amount. Recommendable. The only downside: there is no social distancing.

This is one of the best ramen restaurants I have been to. Delicious food and good service. We often like to conclude the lunch with desert across the street. At peak times, there is a queue.
